Good morning. As I look out my door, enjoying how green and pretty everything is, I'm reminded that soon all of this will be gone. I'm always sad when the last of the leaves has fallen to the ground, and everything looks so bare. The weather we're enjoying now has to be the perfect "year round" weather. Of course I know it won't last, but oh my it is so beautiful!
Our lives are so much like the seasons. However, for some of us Winter comes too soon. I'm not going to have time to post here tomorrow morning because I have a funeral service to go to. It's a long drive from here to the synagogue in Concord, so I'll have to be leaving here early. Thank goodness I have a GPS in my car.
I promised to take a photo of the plants that adorn the front of my porch, and so I did. Next year, I think I'll pick up a few wooden crates so that I can stagger some of the plants. I love coming home and seeing all these beautiful plants right next to my steps.
I have a new quick page for you today. This one plays tribute to those yummy watermelons that we've been enjoying all summer. Mmmm, delicious!

This morning I have to put together a shopping list. I'll be needing to pick up a few groceries, and a new blouse to wear tomorrow. Sadly, my wardrobe is mostly suited for housework and yard work. I tend to live in jeans, shorts and tee shirts. Then, of course, there's my trusty lounge pajamas and my housecoats, both of which also get a lot of wear.
Can you imagine? I love fashion design, and yet there is nothing fashionable in my wardrobe. Go figure! Speaking of fashion design, my favorite show "Project Runway" starts again tomorrow night. I've been waiting for this for months.
Before I take my leave, I have a cute newspaper ad to share. This is an advertisement for buying a car in the year 1950. Similar vehicles to these now sell for between $28,000 and $45,000. Amazing!
Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
So sad that your making the trip for a funeral. I am so very sad to hear the news of your niece's passing. So very heartbreaking. I am thankful that you have your GPS. I wish that someone could go with you but I know it is not always possible. My cousin by marriage is in the hospital and it is not looking good. She has liver failure. Obviously one of her medications or some of her medications may have caused the damage.
I was updating my blog at 2 in the morning. Not getting to sleep is wearing me down. But I slept in late today and am now enjoying some coffee that Pogo sent to me. Thank You Pogo.
Your plants look very festive and as for the blueberry plant, perhaps you can put it on your porch so it still gets some bright light over the winter and just see what happens with it next year. If it has a little life, there is always hope.
Guess that I will close. Love the QP thank you. We had 2 water melons this year and was very disappointed as they were not sweet and juicy. I think that they are picked way to early So when I go to the store tomorrow I am going to get a couple and put them out on the patio for a couple of days. The extra sunlight will not hurt them.
Give Pogo lots of hugs and kisses from us... Take care dear and know that I will be thinking of you tomorrow and drive safely. Love Beth and Cisco...
Hey Miss Edna, hope your day is going well. I know I asked you to swing by before but please please please visit Barb at dogmomdiva.blogspot.com/
She is having a real difficult day. A cheer soul such as you might give her a smile.
I will be back to visit. Heading out the door to get my hubby at his bus.
Hugs, Anne
Hi Edna, I hope you have safe travels to the funeral and I am very sorry for your loss. You are such a positive light and I treasure your friendship. Take care and be safe on the roads.
You are always so generous sharing. Thanks for the QP thank you. I love this cooler weather but hate seeing all the flowers and vegetables withering away. I have to tend to my roses before the really cold weather comes along. I would love to have a greenhouse. My neighbor behind me has one. My other neighbor chuckles and calls her the organic gardener and teases me saying, what do you think she grows in there? Since marijuana is legal here, hmmm....but laws prevent you from growing too much. I have never seen her working in there in the daylight though. She is very nice and has a large black lab. But I have seen a light in that greenhouse in the late night hours when I can not sleep. Perhaps I have an overactive imagination or am very naive! LOL!
Take care.
Sad trip you will have to make on Friday. Not real nice you will have to drive there without any company. So take care and come home safely again.
Little jobs that you enjoy doing can be time-consuming. But if you had a good time, who cares?
Your hanging plants perhaps have to little water? I notice it with my haning plants too, they need a lot of water, so I will have to figure out some good containers for them, that will hold some water in the bottom. Other thing that should help a lot is mixing some special gel grains in the soil, that will hold the water.
Don;t know what you will have to do with the little blueberry bush. Perhaps put it in a larger container and put that in a sheltered spot in the garden and then if it holds through the winter, you can plant it in a border.
Have to go posting on my blog now and leave for some grocerie shopping not to late( then it isn;t yet too warm).
Have a lovely day today and take care on the drive on Friday!
Hug
Kyra
