Be Careful Of That "Home" Key

May 31, 2016,

My goodness, I just touched something (not sure what yet) and my whole post disappeared.  Poof!!  I really don't feel like re-typing the whole post, so here's a synopsis of what disappeared.

Current temp - 70F, sunny.   Later temp - Upper 80's.  Yesterday - light rain.  Blah, blah, blah.

Well, that wasn't so bad.  I think I've discovered the culprit.  There is a "home" key right next to the "backspace" and "delete" keys.  When you touch this key, you say "bye bye" to whatever you've been working so diligently on.  I think the computer keyboard manufacturers should really move this key to a different place on the keyboard.  Maybe to the opposite side?

Did you know that there are two questions marks on the keyboard?  One puts a question mark at the end of your typed line, and the other one brings up a help page that goes out to the internet.  (This is on the HP keyboard.)

I have some photos that I took yesterday of raindrops on my flowers.  The last photo is a single raindrop with a reflection of my house in it.

While I was outside in the drizzling rain taking these photos of raindrops, my little Pogo was sitting inside (in the laundry room) watching me through the door.  This is his way of making sure I don't hop in the car and leave without him.  That door has lots of glass panes on it, hence the glare on the left side of the photo.

Sometime today or tomorrow, Pogo and I have to go to Town Hall and pay taxes.  They are due tomorrow.  Actually, it seems like there are always taxes due to be paid.  Ah well, such is life.  At least it's a good day to be out doing errands.

That's about all my news for this morning. I'm thinking that it's time to get dressed and head on out.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

What's A Study Worth?

May 30, 2016

Good morning.  Tis rather gray and cloudy this morning, but then we are expecting rain today.  It's 53F degrees right now, but temps will get up into the mid 70's later this morning.  Not a bad day after all.

Today I want to talk about a disturbing new report that I heard on the news yesterday.  The medical field has made a new study and says that it is okay to let your baby cry itself to sleep at night.  The length of time the baby cries does not matter, be it twenty minutes or a few hours.  They say this will not hurt the baby, and will somehow lessen everyone's stress level.  What??  Excuse me??

I did not get the name of the doctor being interviewed, but I am appalled at the outcome of this study.  First of all, why did we even need a study?  Second of all, what good could possibly come from letting your baby (or toddler) cry itself to sleep?  There is a difference between a child whining for attention, and a child crying for some sort of help or need.  This is something that every mother knows about her child.

I don't understand the part of "lessening the stress level" that was mentioned.  Who in their right mind can have no stress when their child is crying?  There is no way in hell that I could be calm and happy while my child lay crying in another room (or any room for that matter!)!!

Some years ago, I knew someone who said that once her baby or toddler was tucked into bed for the night, she and her hubby would not go back into the baby's room until it was time to get up for breakfast the next morning.   Crying was good for the child, and eventually it would go to sleep.  One night as the parents lay sleeping peacefully in their bed in the very next room, their toddler (after crying for quite a while) choked to death.

So much for letting your baby (or toddler) cry itself to sleep at night!  Everyone has the right to take what they want from this new study.  For me, I say pick up that crying baby or toddler and love them.  Chase away the monsters and kiss the boo boos and the sore tummies till they are better.  Your little one will be so much happier.  Babies grow up into adults so quickly.  Cuddle them while you can.  They are gifts.

By the way, the doctor being interviewed on TV said that she tried to leave her little one crying itself to sleep at night, but that she could not do it!!!!!    Nuff said!

Today I have an adorable scrap page to share that my friend Beth made.  She used one of my QP's and featured a photo of her little dog Cisco.  He loves to snuggle beneath the covers on Mommie's bed.  Isn't he just precious?

I'm watching the news and their is so much hurt everywhere.  First of all, a gorilla was shot to death at a zoo.  Authorities say they had no choice, but I think they should have at least tried a tranquilizer gun.  They said they did not have enough time to do this, but they never even tried.

There is severe flooding in Texas and North Carolina, and the lives of people and animals are being lost.  In other parts of the country there is a dire need for water.  So I'm wondering why our elected officials have not come up with plans for water pipelines.  With these pipelines, there would be no flooding on the level that we have been experiencing these past several years.  And needless to say, all this excess rainwater could have been quite useful in putting out wildfires.  If we can support the world, why can't we build these water pipelines and save some of our own families?  Ah well, that's another rant for another day.

Today I have a couple photos from my gardens.  This first photo shows a little azalea bush trying to make a comeback after the snows from two winters ago almost destroyed it.

This next photo shows one of my hosta plants,  and another of the lily of the valley plants that tend to spread everywhere.

Well that's it for today's post.  Now I'm going to have me a hot cup of coffee while I do a bit of morning blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Were You Sporting A Red Nose?

May 29, 2016

Good morning.  Tis early, only 6:30, and Pogo and I have been up for about an hour.  We've had our breakfast, and now my little guy is snuggled up next to me on the sofa.  What a great way to start a new day.

My goodness, yesterday was certainly a warm day.  Temperatures got up into the 90's here along with a bit of sticky humidity.  However, Pogo and I managed to stay comfortable indoors.  By mid afternoon, it was beginning to warm up indoors too, so I turned on a floor fan.  That helped quite a lot.

It was a good day to put Pogo into the new sink for a bath.  Woo Hoo!!  He fit perfectly, and bath time became so much easier.  Gosh, I really should have had this new sink put in years ago.  What a difference it makes.

Another thing that makes a difference is Red Nose Day.  So, were you sporting a red nose yesterday?  As you can see here, Deanne and Eddie wore theirs.  They would be celebrating a friend's birthday, and everyone wore a red nose.

According to Google, the red noses raised 31 million dollars, which is to be used to help poor children in all fifty states and around the world.  I think it's a great way to raise funds, but I would like to see a dollar by dollar breakdown of how and where the funds are actually dispersed.  I would like to see actual dollar amounts given to each city and town in this country, and how it is used.  I'd also like to see what other countries received monies, how much they got and how it was used.  Oh, and let's not forget a list of administrative costs.

I am all for sharing and giving, but I like to know that what I gave went where it was supposed to go.  This is a Walgreen's charitable fund raiser, and according to Google, the 2016 funds will go to:

* Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which provides access to safe, enriching after-school and summer programs.

* Water Charity, which provides clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.

* Gavi (The Vaccine Alliance), which provides life saving vaccines to children in poor countries.

* National Council of La Raza National Council, which provides opportunities for Latino children and families.

According to this breakdown, I'm not seeing very many poor and homeless children in all our fifty states being helped.   This is why I like to see cost break downs.

On a super happy note, I found this absolutely adorable image on the web and had to share it here with you.  I don't know who the author is, but these little fellows are just so precious.

I also have a question to ask.  Does anyone know the name of this plant?  I lost the name tag that came with it (a couple years ago) and I can't remember the name.  I've looked for it on Google, but so far have not had much luck finding it.

Today's temps are supposed to be in the seventies.  After yesterday, this will feel really good.  In a little while, I'm going to open Pogo's door and put the bottom window up so that he can enjoy a bit of a breeze.  Here's a photo of him (from a couple days ago) sitting by his door as he watches Joe watering the plants.

Now I think I'll make myself a cup of coffee, and play a bit in Photoshop.  I bought a few new scrap kits, and it will be fun to play with them.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Naughty Pussy Cat!!

May 27, 2016

Good morning.  Tis another gorgeous day here in New England.  Be still my heart.  I just love it!  The temperature now is 70F degrees, and is supposed to reach 87F degrees this afternoon.  I guess this is a sneak peak of what summer will be like.

Well, yesterday the guys finished up my bathroom.  Oh my, it felt so good to be able to take a nice long shower.  (I've been having to wash up in the kitchen sink while the bathroom was discombobbled.  Now that's a word from the past!!

My bathroom is very tiny, but it has everything it needs.  Now it sports new floor tiles

and a new vanity and sink.

The old vanity and sink were too small for Pogo to fit in when he has a bath.  This new vanity is perfect, and such a pleasure to use.  Sorry about the angle of the photo, but there's not enough room in this bathroom to backup to get a good photo.   About all that's left to do in this room is to put in a new window, and buy some pretty new curtains.  But that's for another day.

The budded iris plants that I posted yesterday have opened up, and oh my they are gorgeous!  They grow really tall, and the flowers are huge.

Yesterday morning, while the guys were busy working here, Pogo and I went out to do a couple errands.  As you can see, Pogo doesn't miss a trick.  While I was trying to hook his safety belt, he was keeping a watchful eye on Eddie's friend who had come outside to get a tool that he needed.

The mailman brought the new plant tent that I had ordered for the tomatoes, and Joe helped me put it together and set it up.  Now our only problem with it is -- how will we mow the grass inside this area?  Ah well, we'll figure that out later.

Normally, the tomatoes would be planted on the other side of the house, but I wanted to be able to keep an eye on them, so we put them near the little lily garden by the shed.  That big tarp you see in the background is covering the lawn tractor, and those colorful flower heads are tulip windmills that daughter Deanne gave me.  Here's a close up of one of the little windmills.

After supper, I went out into the main part of the house and bent down to pet Blackie (one of the cats).  He meows and begs for us to pet him, and then he bites us.  Last evening it was my turn to get bitten.  Bad pussy cat!!

There were two places that were bleeding and stinging.  I cleaned the wounds and put on an antibiotic ointment and bandaids.  After a while the stinging stopped.  I won't be petting the cat again any time soon.

So as you can see, it was quite the busy day around here yesterday.  Today, Pogo and I will have a quiet morning, then a very busy afternoon.  We'll pick up granddaughter Jazzy from high school, then we'll come back to meet with the contractor (who is hired to build the porch) and then I'll take Joe grocery shopping.

This weekend, folks are getting together to celebrate Memorial Day.  There will be lots of parades, games and barbeques.  Just keep in mind why we are celebrating.  Say a prayer for all the men and women (and animals) who fought and died so that we may be free.

Now I'm going to get myself a cold bottle of water and enjoy some blog reading.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Busy, Busy, Busy

May 26, 2016

Good morning.  Tis another glorious day here in my little part of New England.  Once the guys get here this morning to start working on the bathroom, Pogo and I will run out to do a couple of errands.

Yes, the bathroom work saga continues.  Yesterday, SIL Eddie and his friend showed up mid morning, and worked all day in the bathroom.  It turned out to be a much bigger job than they had first thought.  In order to put down floor tiles, you first have to shut off the water, take out the vanity and sink, and then take out the toilet.  There are water pipes and such that have to be tended to also.

It was a long day, but some tiles were put down, the vanity and sink were replaced and the toilet was put back (working).  Today the water pipes to the sink need a bit of adjusting because they interfere with the draws in the vanity, and the rest of the tiles have to be put down.  (I think that's all.)

It has been brought to my attention that yellow is a new color for petunias.  I hadn't thought about it, but it's true.  I haven't seen yellow petunias before either.  I love the color and that's why I bought them.  Anyway, I took a couple of close-up photos to share here.  They are so pretty!

I had planned to take new photos of the plants on the other side of the house, but yesterday was such a busy day that I did not get the chance.  I promise to do it later today.  Joe says that one of  the huge irises has opened up.  Woo Hoo!

Here are a few more shots of my plants that I took a few days ago.  These are some of the really tall irises,  The big light blue bud is the one that Joe says has opened, and the last photo is one of the peony plants.

Also yesterday, a Special Olympics was held a couple towns over, and daughter Deanne's class got a first place ribbon.  Actually, I think all the kids got one.  Deanne helps teach a class of autistic children.  Just one more reason why I'm so proud of my kids.

Well that's about all my news for this morning.  Got lots to do today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Today Will Be Hot Hot Hot!!

May 25, 2016

Good morning.  The sun is shining, though the clouds hide it every now and then.  The temperature right now is 60F degrees, and will be close to 90F degrees by mid afternoon.  Wow, that's a big jump up!!

The headache and the chills seem to be under control for now.  Hopefully, whatever caused them has gone by.  This is the time of year to be outside, not wrapped up in blankets.

Yesterday, SIL Eddie, Pogo and I went shopping at Lowes to check out the floor tiles.  I did not find what I want, but finally settled on a wood look tile.  While we were there, I found a new bathroom vanity and sink that I liked, so we bought that too.

Eddie and his friend Cliff will be here in a while to start working.  Right now, the bathroom is scattered all over the place.  Hopefully, things will go smoothly, and Eddie can get the bathroom finished and all back together soon.

Yesterday afternoon, the contractor came by and we discussed changes to be made to the porch design so that I can still have my porch and be able to pay for it.  We finally decided on a plan, and they will start building the porch in a few weeks.  It will even have a nice gate on it so that Pogo can run around on it safely.

Today, I have a new quick page for you.   This one is for your rainy day photos.  Enjoy.

I've noticed lots of colorful buds on the plants in my gardens.  Some are beginning to open, and others will bloom soon.  Here are just a few of them.

Soon, I will pick up some small plants for the flower towers.  I'm curious to see how they will look once the plants start to grow.  Maybe that can be a project for next week.

Today I need to do a couple loads of laundry.  One load for scatter rugs and one load for clothes.  Well maybe one more load for towels too.  That should keep me busy while Eddie works on the bathroom.

Now I need to wash some dishes and get dressed.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Floral Delights

May 24, 2016

Good morning.  It's cloudy outside with temps around 57F degrees.  Today's high will be around 63F degrees.  Tis a nice Spring day for doing errands.  At least I hope so.  I started warming up late yesterday afternoon, and sometime during the night I developed a whopper of a headache.

I finally took an Excedrin Migraine a little while ago, and I surely do hope it gets rid of this headache.  SIL Eddie came by yesterday, but I told him there was a hold on any work on the bathroom until I felt better.

Headache or no, in a little while Pogo and I are going to pick up Eddie and go looking for floor tiles and a few other things that are on my shopping list.  Eddie might be called back to work soon, so we want to get this bathroom finished pronto.

I'd also like to set aside one day this week to visit Aunt Lucy.  I do chat with her on the phone , but the "in person" visit is special.  She and I are like a couple of old matriarchs, and we have so much in common.  I truly wish she could have been in my life all these years passed.  However, we don't have time to languish over the past.  Today is what is important and I'd like to keep it for as long as I can.

Yesterday, I took my camera outside to get a few photos to share of the new plants.  First, here are all those gorgeous petunias.

This piece hanging down had broken off the plant, so I tucked it into the dirt hoping that it would grow new roots.  We'll see.

Next is the new planter pot where we've put the tomato plants.  I can't wait to see how this works out.  We've placed it near the shed until we decide where is the best place for it.

And lastly, here's a shot of the new little edging fence.  I need to pick up more of it to use on the other side of the house in the big garden.

Well that's all my news for today.  It's time to stuff my adorable self into some clothes and head on out to pick up Eddie.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Scrumptious Petunias

May 23, 2016

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the temperature is in the high 50's at the moment.  However, I am cold.  It started yesterday afternoon with a nasty case of the chills, and I haven't warmed up yet.

Yesterday, Joe and I took one of the new big planters outside and filled it with garden soil.  Joe planted both my new tomato plants in it.  Today I'll take some photos of it.  After that, all the new Petunias got planted.

This first group of three beautiful colors got planted in the kiln just outside Pogo's storm door.  I'm hoping they will grow tall and hang down around the sides of the kiln.  (check out the names too, they are delicious!)

These next two beauties are planted in the rooster welcome planter just outside my door.

And lastly, this last pretty Petunia was planted in a pot by itself, and it sits on one of my steps.

I'm not sure why this last image is so much bigger than the others because in reality it is the same size or smaller.  Hmmm, must be because there is only one item in the image.  Ah well, who cares.

After the planting, I came inside and made lunch for myself and Pogo.  We had plans to check the floor tiles at Lowes right after lunch, but that's when my chills started.  I was so cold that I wrapped up in two blankets and crawled onto my lounge chair.  After a while, I was able to take a nap.

When I woke from my nap, I was still quite cold and not feeling so good.  So I put on my jammies and called it a day.  Today I feel okay, just a bit sluggish, but I'm still cold.  I don't know of any virus that's going around, so I hope I'm not coming down with something.

I have a bit of interesting info to share today.  Ever notice the little plastic tab that holds the wrapper closed on your loaf of bread?  Ever wonder why they are not always the same color?  This will explain that.

Please just remember to cut this little plastic tab in half before discarding it.  In it's present state, it could kill a small being.

Now I'm going to finish my coffee while I catch up a bit on my morning blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

It's A Great Day For Planting

May 22, 2016

Good morning.  Today will be cloudy with a slight breeze and temps around 61F degrees.  Sounds like a pretty good day to work in the yard.  Maybe plant some tomatoes??

Yesterday my friend Ellen came for a visit, and we took Pogo and went shopping at Home Depot.  I looked at all the floor tiles but did not find anything I liked.  Next we looked for the little white fence edging to put around the flower gardens.  Of course, they did not have any of that either.  But we did find another pretty little fence edge so I bought that.

The fence materials are at the back of the garden center, so of course we had to walk around the whole garden center.  Oh my, the trouble I could have got into here!!  I did my best to be good, but I couldn't resist buying a few new plants.  I'll see about taking some photos of them today.

We left the garden center and stopped by Burger King for some take out lunch.  Then we headed for the park, where we sat and watched the geese and ducks while we enjoyed our lunch.  All in all, we had a fun time out together.

Later, after I got home, it was time to take Joe grocery shopping.  Not even halfway through this shopping, I ran out of steam.  As soon as I got home and put the groceries away, I put on my jammies and curled up in my comfy lounge chair.  Ohhhhhhh, this felt sooooo good!!

Pogo and I had a late supper, and after supper I did a bit of crocheting on the Scarlet afghan.  I finally reached the halfway mark.  Here's a photo of this afghan.

Today, I'm hoping to plant the new tomato plants and flowers that I bought yesterday.  I also want to take a trip to Lowes to look at their floor tiles and check out the garden center (of course!).

I have some photos from my garden to share today.  This first photo is my little lilac bush.  I love lilacs and can't wait for this plant to get bigger.

For Mother's Day, DIL Janet brought me a whole basket of calla lily plants which have already been planted in one of the small gardens.  Isn't this pretty?

Well now it's time to get dressed to go outside and play in the dirt.  Yes, yes, yes!  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Shopping Can Be Good For The Soul

May 20, 2016

Good morning.  Well it rained most of the night, but the sun is shining now.  It's 55F degrees right now, but it is supposed to get up to 75F degrees in a few hours.  Woo Hoo!!  I absolutely love Spring time.

Well, yesterday SIL Eddie, Pogo and I went shopping to find us some super bargains.  We ooohed and aahed over quite a few things, but were careful shoppers.  My big purchase was four large bags of mulch that were on sale for 4bags/$10.  I did find a really nice suitcase, but I decided to think about that for a while.

Eddie and I both found something that we did not need but decided to buy anyway.  Eddie bought a new nozzle for his garden hose, and I bought a Micromaster cooker pan for my microwave.  Both items were inexpensive, and we each came away happy with our purchases.

Before we headed for home, we stopped at a nearby McDonalds for lunch.  The local birds were happy to get the bread from Pogo's burger and Eddie's French fries.  There were two blue jays and a couple of sparrows mixed in with the gulls.  Next time I go there, I'll get extra fries for the birds.

Today I dug some photos out of my archives of a visit to a nearby pond a few years ago to see a pair of swans with their nest full of eggs.  This first photo shows Mom sitting on her nest.

And here are the treasures that she is protecting and keeping warm.

Always nearby, Dad keeps watch over his family to protect them from any harm.

We're not really very different from our wildlife.  One would think that Man would have more respect for our birds and animals.  We wouldn't last very long without them.  It takes all of us working together and respecting each other to keep our Earth alive.

My goodness, I had not planned on any sort of rant here, but I really do love nature and it hurts to see people treating our birds and animals badly.  When I go to the park to watch the ducks and geese, there is always at least one mother there letting her kids throw rocks at the birds.  Many days, there are even adults standing around with fishing poles (and hooks) in the water where the birds are.  If these people have no respect for the birds, why can't they go somewhere else?

On a happier note, today is turning out to be such a lovely day that I think Pogo and I will spend a little time outside in the yard.  It's time now for me to get dressed and find some fun mischief for us to get into.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Life Has Been Busy Changing Plans

May 19, 2016

Good morning.  It's looking a bit cloudy outside my window, but I'm sure the sun will be shining ever so brightly in a little while.  Today's temps are supposed to get up to almost 70F degrees.  At the moment though, it's only 53F degrees.

During the night temps were in the low to mid 40's.  That's great for sleeping, but now that the heat is off I'm having to adjust to these cooler temps again.  It's not easy telling myself that I have to come out from under the blanket in the morning.  However, in another few weeks, I'll be longing for these cooler "sleeping" nights.  Sighhh, sometimes you just can't win.

SIL Eddie and I had plans to take Aunt Lucy out to lunch today, but she just called and has a mass to go to.  She won't be home until around 1 p.m., and we would have to heading home at that time.  So, we'll make it one day next week.

As for life, well it got in the way again yesterday, and all plans had to be changed again.  Some weeks that's how it goes in the real world.  Also, I got an estimate from another contractor for the porch, and OMG it is several thousand dollars higher than the first estimate.  I'm going to have to do a bit of re-thinking on what kind of porch I want.

I found another crochet pattern for a cardigan shrug.  This one looks a bit lacier than the first one I found.  As soon as I can decide on a color, I just might try this pattern.

Seeing as how my plans for today have been changed, I think I might take Pogo and go shopping.  The National Wholesale store a couple towns over is having a wicked good sale.  Poland Spring Water is on sale, so I'll pick up a couple of these.  This is what Pogo and I drink.

I found an adorable sign on the web that I wanted to share here.  This one is for all us animal lovers.

Or cat hair!!  Also, seeing little stuffed toys everywhere is a good sign that pets live in the home.  Having fur babies in your life will help you to live longer.  It's a win win situation.

Now I think I'll call SIL Eddie to let him know that our plans have changed.  Then I think I'll get dressed and Pogo and I will head out to go shopping.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I Can Get Crazy When I Have To

May 18, 2016

Good morning.  It's another beautiful day here in my little part of New England.  The sun is shining, and my little birds are chirping that they need more seed in their feeder.  As soon as I finish posting, I will tend to the bird feeder.

Yesterday, life happened and SIL Eddie could not come by.  No biggie.  I kept busy putting things away and packing up a big box of new clothes for my daughter Laura Jean.  I'm only about half done with her shopping though.  This week I'll pick out some new sweat shirts and pants in lots of pretty colors.  She has hypothermia, and these will keep her nice and warm on the cooler days.

I need to call Aunt Lucy today and let her know that Eddie and I will be picking her up tomorrow to go out for lunch.  While Lucy and I were chatting on the phone last night, she wanted to know if I'd like to meet up for lunch one day.  Yes, Aunt Lucy, I'd love to.

Eddie is coming by this morning.  I don't know if he already bought the new bathroom sink, or if we are going shopping for it.  Either way is okay with me.  I'm easy to please.  (most of the time)

Yesterday was a bit uneasy with one of the dwarfs.  He had turned on the faucet in the kitchen sink and walked away.  When I questioned why the water was running, he said it was so the grease would not clog up the drain.  What????  I told him that in no uncertain terms was anyone to be putting grease down the drains.  He could not understand why and was pretty upset with me for scolding him.  This is a middle aged man who should know better.  Finally, I told him he would do things my way or find a new place to live.  It's that simple.

Today I have a new quick page for you.  This one features Toto and Zlata, two of my favorite scrap characters.  I hope you can use it.

I borrowed an image from the web of a super tee shirt for doggie moms.  Boy, this describes me to a "T".

Well now I must get dressed and start the breakfast dishes.  If I have to go shopping with Eddie, I can't go in my jammies.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

You Know You're Old When You Get Excited About Washing A Window

May 17, 2016

Good morning.  The sun is shining, but it will be hiding behind the clouds on and off throughout the day.  The weather report for the next week is looking really good with temps ranging from the upper 60's to the upper 70's all week.

Yesterday, SIL Eddie and Kevin came by for a while.  Kevin watered all my plants and shrubs outside while Eddie washed a few windows for me.  Sad to say, I catch on to new fangled things rather slowly these days.  However, I think I've finally figured out how to open and flip the windows out so that I can wash them myself.  At least I'll give it a try when they are dirty again.

Eddie took some measurements, and will pick up a new sink for my bathroom.  The one I have is old and starting to get all crackily around the drain.  I think it was initially installed more than thirty five years ago.

By the time Joe got home from work yesterday, I had used up all my energy, so the blueberry plants will have to be planted today.  I think I'm going to leave them in the pots they came with.  At least until I see how big they will get.  I can always get bigger pots later on.

I did not take photos yesterday, so I dug into my archives for a couple photos from May 2013.  The first photo is a beautiful Quince shrub.  I just love the color of this plant.  This is one of the things that I miss about work.  The Mrs had so many beautiful plants and trees on her property.

Another thing that I miss about work is all the birds and the wildlife that lived on her property.  I used to love watching the little red squirrels scurrying around by the bird feeder looking for food.  They were so tiny and adorable.

I must say though, that Nature is all I miss.   I heard from someone who still works there, and she said that the Mrs is still mean and cranky all the time.  I definitely do not miss this.

Today I want to call Aunt Lucy.  It's been a couple of weeks since we've talked on the phone and I want to make sure she is okay.  Maybe Pogo and I can take a ride to visit with her this week.  I'd like that.

Well, I think I want to get dressed now and put some of my things in the bathroom into a box so that they won't be in Eddie's way if he shows up with a new sink to install.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
