Is The Sun Looking Bigger To You?

March 23, 2014

Good morning.  I'm still at work, and the sun isn't up, but oh my was it ever gorgeous last night as it was setting down behind the trees.  Have you noticed how, over the past year or so, the sun appears to be much bigger than it was before?  Since the weather has started changing so dramatically, the sun also seems to have changed a bit.  It seems so much larger now.

Of course, this might just be my eyes getting older and seeing things differently, but somehow I don't think so.  On my way to work last night, I pulled over to the side of the road to take a photo of the sun slipping down behind the trees on the other side of the high school football field.  It was a huge round ball of glorious orange yellow, and once it started to set it quickly slid out of sight.  Here's what it looked like just before it disappeared from view.

Yesterday wasn't a  really special day because I can't seem to remember what I did all day.  But then, what else is new?  I don't remember lots of things lately.  As long as I remember the important things, it doesn't really matter.

When I arrived at work last night, I noticed lots of Snowdrops and some purple Crocus in bloom.  I took photos of these happy little blossoms to share with you.  Aren't they beautiful?

Next thing you know, the hyacinth and daffodils will be popping up through the cold ground.  Yep, Spring is really trying to take over here.  Maybe after the next cold spell, the temps will warm up and stay with us.

It's time for me to check on the Mrs again, and then I will be packing up my things and heading on home.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Boy, you are way ahead of us. The grass that is finally showing through is still brown and the ground is hard as a rock ... noting poking up through yet. It worries me ... our lake is still frozen and the birds have returned ... the Great Blue Heron has been here for days, but with the lake frozen, I don't know what he is finding to eat. The seagulls and geese just sit on the ice waiting ... like they think if they stay there long enough it will melt. Well, it probably will, but not until long after they have had to go elsewhere for food. So you are lucky to have things popping up already. I will be glad when winter decides to give up the ghost.

Today I need to spend time cleaning things out of my Granddaughters room ... yes, I know, I started doing that a long time ago, but there is so much stuff I just don't know what to do with it all. Some of it I am giving away, but most of it, I really have to wait until she is here and can tell me if she wants to keep it. Oh my, I can never seem to get anything done :(

Guess I best go get myself going. I hate it when at the end of the day I haven't accomplished what I set out to do. I know you have to work again tonight so you have a nice restful day, Edna. Sleep well and hugs to Pogo.

Love your sunset. Sometimes they are just amazing, aren't they.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. Such a hard thing to write about. The service was so sad.
I hope your week back home wasn't too hard on you.

Yep, spring is trying hard to stay. Oh, how wonderful that is.
Although the temperatures are still low to my liking, it's good to see sunshine. Also had some rainshowers though, but i think nature needed a bit.
Don't worry about forgetting things at times. I do too, LOL. As long as we remember what is important to do nothing to worry.
One of these days I should go into the garden to see if I can make a couple of photos of things that do their best to grow.
Have a lovely day.
