It's 5:10 a.m. and it is still quite black outside. It rained lightly all day yesterday, then poured all night long. It is still pouring rain. Good thing I brought my umbrella in with me last night because I'm going to need it when I leave here this morning.
This rain is supposed to last all day and night again, leaving us with a few inches of water. I am so hoping that it lightens up again today because I really don't want another flood in my basement at home.
p.s. I'm watching the Weather Channel and the forecaster just said we are having light rain. I think he should stop putting funny juice in his coffee, because if this is light rain then I hope never to experience heavy rain. My house would be floating down the main road through town.
Friday afternoon, I picked up some new yarn at Walmart for my next crochet project, and a new pattern book. I should have read the book before I bought the yarn because this morning I have to go back and pick up a couple more skeins of each color.
This new project will be an afghan, and is quite heavy. The colors are Rose Parfait and Pink Camo. I started it yesterday afternoon, and last night after the Mrs went to bed I was able to get through the first nine rows. Rows 9-11 are very tricky and require constant counting, ripping out and re-doing. It took me almost two hours to do row 9. (Camo Rose) That's mostly because the pattern is a bit tricky to understand. Here's a photo of how much is done so far, and a close up to show the pattern.
The Pink Camo yarn is really quite pretty, and I'd like to make another project with it at a later date. Hmmm, I'll have to think about what to make with it. As for my other two project, the multi colored crochet project is now about the size of a twin afghan and just needs an edging put on all around it to finish it off. The pink thing knitting project is about three quarters done. It is very tedious to work on so I'll work on it in between my other projects.
A nearby local craft store, Michaels, has just started carrying yarn, and they are having a big sale this week, so guess where I'm going this week? They have a couple of nice coupons in the paper this weekend and I think I'll use them to pick up yarn for a couple more projects. At least, that's what I'm hoping. It all depends on what yarns they are carrying.
Now I'm going to Google Walmart to see how early they open this morning. Then it will be time to check on the Mrs again before packing up my things to get ready to go home. So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay dry and have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Our rain finally quit and yesterday we were able to get out and clean up stuff. Hopefully it stays nice until we depart on Monday...hate packing up in the rain.
I started knitting a dishcloth and opted for the pattern that involved the least amount of thinking. For whatever reason I can't hold a thought and everything I touch falls apart....I hate these bouts, but this too shall pass.
You have a good day my friend.
The weather seems to be working in reverse for a change. We are sunny and warm (well, in the 40's warm) here today, but starting Tuesday we are supposed to get rain/snow for the rest of the week. We have been lucky so far. I was sure there would be flooding from all the snow melting, but believe it or not, it melted so slow that most of the moisture evaporated and ... NO FLOOD! That said, a week of rain plus the swelling of the rivers from the snow melting up north could spell trouble for many people who live on water. We live on a bluff so that is not an issue here (knock on wood:)
I love your new crochet pattern and I love the colors you are using. I can see why it might be complicated, but then once you master it, it will be worth your while.
My son was here with his friend last night and they moved some furniture around. Now I have to clear out the closet in the room my daughter is moving into so she can have room for all of her stuff ... she has a lot of stuff. Anyway, the process has started and we will be busy with it for some time. I still have a lot of good stuff to get rid of ... not sure how that is going to happen.
Have a nice rest today (rainy weather is good for sleeping ) and hugs and licks from Izzi to Pogo ...

Hello Edna and Pogo. Hope your weather will cooperate soon, we have had a lovely weekend. I need to find a yard guy to mow my grass, the two young men next door are supposed to mow, but cannot get their noses out of a computer long enough to do it, so I need to find someone soon as I can't stand it looking so ragged. i tried using my weedeater to cut down some of the grass under the tree where I feed the birds, it was up to my bum....LOL! Took all I had to do that, but it looks a little better and the stray cats can't hide in it to sneak up on the birds and squirrels....ROFL!
I cannot mow unless I find an electric mower as I don't have the strength to pull start the gas mower, the electric starter no longer works...but it is cheaper to hire someone else than purchase a new mower and pay the electricity and the wear and tear on me...LMBO!
Love the pattern and the colors of your newest knitting project, looks very complicated to me. LOL!
Lovely bird photos and the ones from your friends off the internet are simply precious.
I have a kitten (Tom) who doesn't feel too good, he is moping around today and is so very needy, always wanting me to hold him, guess I will have to call the vet in the morning and I need to call the DR. for me as I think I have a sty in my left eye...that's a first so am not sure, need to have it checked to be sure.
Hope your weekend has be relaxing and that you have a terrific week ahead. Chat more later.
Hugs, Mat
The rain that falls now, cannot fall late this year LOL!No, without joking, a bit of rain is okay, but it shouldn;t be overdone.
Oh my, you took a big project on your shoulders, but it looks awesome!
As i was looking around for some nice petter stitches for the throw over I am working on I stubled upon some awesomesites. Seesing all those throw overs, and afghans I think I will make more of them. I will send you some links by mail, that you might like to visit and they may give you ideas for a next project ?Specially the last one has some awesome things!
Must go posting now, have to do doggie walking today.
Hugs
Kyra
