A Split Post Today And Another Freebie

August 6, 2013

I'm looking out my window, and it's looking like another fabulous day here in New England.  Actually, August usually is a much nicer month for temperatures than July.  Of course, the downside is that it brings the start of shorter days and gets us closer to Autumn.

....Sorry, I will have to finish this post later.  Today is not one of my best days.  So I'm headed back to bed.

It's mid afternoon now, and I'm finally up again and ready to start my day.  I just checked my blood pressure and it seems to be a bit high.  I'll check it again later and if it stays high I will call to see if I can make my doctor appointment a bit sooner.  At the moment it is for six weeks from now.

I'm not going to chat your ear off now.  I have a couple of photos to share and another freebie for you.   Election time will soon be here, and my family gets right into the middle of things.  Here is granddaughter Jasmine holding a sign for our favorite candidate.  She's the pretty gal, third up from the left.

It may be August, but the way time has been flying by it's not too soon to start practicing on costumes and makeup for Halloween.  Especially the makeup which takes quite a bit of time to perfect.  This year Jasmine is going to be a zombie, and is practicing her make up now.  Here's a  photo to show how it's coming along.  Great job Jazzy!!

And now for your freebie.  A few weeks ago, Kyra posted a free kit "From Heaven"  (July 5) on her blog and I just could not resist playing with it and making a QP.   Actually, I can't resist a lot of her kits.  They are just gorgeous.  Here is the QP.  Enjoy.

And here is your download link:
Expired

Now I'm going to get dressed and try to get a couple of things done while I'm feeling perky.  Till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Cut back on your salt intake ... you don't want your BP to get out of control ... I assume you are taking a medication for it ... if it is consistently high even on medication you do need to go in ... or at least have the doctor adjust your dose.

I clicked on the first picture to see your Granddaughter and then scrolled through the pictures. Almost croaked when I saw the infected poinson ivy arm ... was very relieved to find that it was a fake job ... could have fooled me. She'll be good long before Halloween :)

I was supposed to go hiking with a friend today, but she pooped out on me ... sort of glad because it turned into a hot sticky day ... can't even stand staying out very long with Izzi. Anyway, I did my grocery shopping instead and so the day wasn't a total loss. Love your download and thanks to Kyra for giving you something to work with. You two should go together on things like you used to with your other friend ... just sayin'

I have things to do outside. We had a very good rain last night and I swear my grass grew two feet (slight exageration) over night. I will probably mow it tomorrow ... hoping it will be a little cooler, but if not I can mow early in the morning and it won't be as hot. I have to clean my bird bath ... when it gets hot it gets moldy even though I put stuff in it to prevent the mold. Anyway, can't leave it like that ... don't want the birds, squirrels and whatevers to get sick from it. You have a nice restful evening and take care ... Hope the BP is down by now :)

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling too well. Hope your BP is down and you are feeling much better.

Reading through your posts I have been gobsmacked by the awesome layouts Kyra has done for you, your wonderful photos of the insect world.....just love the dragonfly and his cute smile.

Our weather has been at sixes and sevens. We have a couple of nice days and then it's back to wet and cold. Our days are getting longer and I can't wait until the weather warms up and stays that way.

Oooo Jasmine's 'makeup' looks so real. Can't wait to see her fully made up for Halloweeen.

I am now going to download the QP you made with one of Kyra's kits....thankyou!!!

Hugs
Judy

Hey, Edna, you have to take care of that BP! I suppose it has gone up some, because of the stress you have been in lately. Not so good, hopefully it will go down quickly again, without going to the doctor.

Jasmine's painting for Halloween looks awesome! What a lot of work it will be, but the result together with a good costume will be worth it.

Take care of yourself, my friend!

As I was scrolling down I saw the picture of Jazzy's makeup before I read that it was makeup and all that went through my mind was "Oh my God, Edna, if that's going on on your arm and your BP is up you need to be in the ER not just moving an appointment up. So yeah, GREAT job on the Halloween makeup!

My blood pressure is affected by some things and not others for the salt. I used to enjoy hot and spicy V8 in the afternoon when we were out but I started feeling really bad when I drank it. When I switched to low sodium V8 with a dash or two of Tabasco, problem solved. Unfortunately convenience stores don't carry low sodium so I can't have it when we're out and about anymore. Salty pretzels don't bother me at all. There is more sodium in V8 hat I would have imagined. So,the things that trigger you might surprise you!

I find that the year seems to go by fast but when I think back to January it seems so long ago. But summer, that's a different story. I rally do feel like I missed July. We're making plans to celebrate my Aunt's and my birthdays at my dad's and it really seems like we just were there for Fathers Day. Summers were longer when I was a kid.

I need to get started on today before it's gone too! :)

Hugs, Nani

Sorry you're not feeling better - hope that goes away soon.
I can't imagine a pretty girl like Jasmine as a zombie - it will be fun seeing the photos.
