Pts. 5 & 6 "Designer Stash 001"

September 24, 2012

Good morning folks.  I'm not going to be posting much this morning.  Yesteday afternoon, my hard drive (the backup drive that I work on) died and took all my stuff with it.  Needless to say, I am not in the mood for chit chat.  I have no photos, no projects, no photo art, nada.

I did use my brain and went to both this blog and Su's website to download previews, and I was able to go to Mediafire and get the download links for you.

Your download links:

Here is Su's preview.  You will have to visit her website to pick up her parts.

Now I am going to make a cup of coffee and drown my sorrows.  Sorry to sound so negative, but I am at my wits end.  I do not know how to keep any of my digital stuff safe anymore.  The pc crashes, the laptop crashes, the flashdrive crashes and the backup drive crashes.  How many backups do you have to have running at any one time to be sure of keeping your data safe?  I give up.

I'm off, till next time, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am so so sorry to hear about your dilemma. I have no answers for you.

I use my PC for everything and then every couple of weeks I backup my photos and projects to an external hard drive.

I only plug my external drive in when I do the backup.

Let's hope your techie guy will be able to retrieve the data that was on your hard drive.

I guess I had better not leave town again ... 3 days away and all *!!** breaks loose. I am so sorry your hard drive crashed ... have you looked into whether anything can be recovered? I lost all of my 2008 pictures when mine hard drive crashed ... I still mourn that loss. I now have a local backup that backs up every day. My husband claims it is impossible to crash both at the same time, so it's on him if I lose anything.

Sorry about your fall. You should ice those bruises when they happen to minimize the bruising and also to help reduce the pain. Hope you are feeling better by now.

My weekend was wonderful and very tiring. We started out at 5AM every day and managed to get back to the motel by ten. I have many pictures but it is going to take me some time to go through them and decide what to do with them. Hopefully, I will be posting some soon. I am now a certified Craniac ... that means I am a supporter of the Operation Migration program that is designed to save the Whooping Crane from extinction. So far the process has been successful, but there is a lot to be accomplished before a true independent, breeding flock is established. I admire the people who commit thier lives to this kind of endeaver ... there are those who don't care about losing any of our beautiful animals and/or birds forever ... of course then they wouldn't have anything to hunt. Like many things, they should be careful what they wish for. Off and running. Have to feed family and start sorting pictures. Hope you have some better days ahead ...

What a mess! I don't know an answer to it. It's such loss when you loose a lot of stuff in a crash.
Can understand you are not in a happy mood!
Perhaps the only thing to be rather safe is like Andrea does, a local backup that backs up every day?
If you need any stuff just say the word and I see what I have and can upload for you in some files?
