Goodbye March!!

March 31, 2012

Good afternoon.  It's been a gray, cloudy day with a speck of dampness.  However, it's been a pretty good day so far for me.  Eddie and I went to Home Depot to see if they could help me figure out what some of my purchases charges were for so that I could separate them on my taxes.  That worked out pretty good, and while I was there I bought some "Mater Magic" for this summer's tomatoes.  It's supposed to make them grow bigger and better.  We'll see.

We also stopped at Staples where I purchased a new laptop and ordered a new PC.   I will make sure that all my files on my old PC have been copied over to an external drive, then erase them from the PC.  I can pick up my new PC next Tuesday.

Wayne will have to to transfer my email program and my Photoshop and my internet security.  If and when my current laptop is fixed and wiped clean, it will be given away along with my older PC.  There's nothing wrong with my older PC except that it has Vista in it and I do not like Vista.

Do I feel guilty about spoiling myself like this?  Absolutely not!   My Michael and my brother always spoiled me, but I also worked hard too.  At my age, I think I've earned the right to spoil me too.  At least Tootsie says it's so.  And I did pay my bills first.

At work yesterday, I got this adorable photo of a little chipmunk through a bedroom window.  These little fellows do not like to pose for photos and they scamper away ever so quickly.

We also had a visit from a Northern Flicker which had no problems with me photographing it from the window.  I got so many nice photos that I had a difficult time choosing which ones to share.

Well that's it for today.  It's getting late and I have some things to do before getting ready for work tonight.  Till tomorrow,  Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Yeah, My Funk Is Leaving!

March 30, 2012

Good morning on this lovely sunny morning.  I'm enjoying it while I can because we are expecting some snow for tomorrow.  Oh goodie goodie!  Well, at least I'm past the worst of the tax stuff so a little snow is not going to bother me much.  I had my appointment yesterday with my tax accountant, Roger Kahan, and all I have left to do is break down one last batch of receipts and he can start to file my taxes.

When I told him that I had mentioned about my appointment with him on my blog, he said "You did mention my name, of course?"  All advertising is good advertising.  So folks, if you live anywhere on the South Shore (near Boston, MA.)  and need a good tax accountant and financial advisor, just leave me a comment with your email and I'll send you Roger's information.  He's very good at what he does, and you'll be quite pleased.

As you can see, my funky mood is lifting finally.  It simply had to be anxiety over those dratted taxes.  If I could learn to be better organized, maybe the tax preparation wouldn't get to me so bad.  I'll have to work on that this year.

As I was leaving for work this morning, the sky in back of my house was oh so pretty.  I took a photo of it, and I stopped a little ways down the street to take another photo.  Isn't this a pretty way to start a new day?

When I arrived at work, I saw that lots more little flowers had blossomed during the week.   Of course, I took a  couple of photos to share.   Aren't these pretty?

There was an article in yesterdy's newspaper about the 1940 census.  According to the article, "Next monday, the U.S. Census and Archives will release an on-line database with detailed, individual information on more than 15 million Americans who filed out a 1940 questionnaire that very much tried to assess the impact of the Great Depression."

The article had a lot more information in it, so if you like to look it up online, go to Patriot Ledger.com.  The article is on Page 9.  It also showed a couple of ads from stores that my mother took me shopping in when I was a little girl.  Remember when turkeys were 21 cents a pound, and grapefruit and orange juice were 5 cents a quart?

I shall have to end this post now, because I'm at work and the Mrs will be waking soon.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET

March 29, 2012

Good morning.  Yesterday's weather turned out to be a little of everything.  A bit of rain, wind and finally sunshine.  I think today might be more of the same.  Depending on which weather station I listen to, March is either going to leave us quietly this weekend, or go out with a snowy gusto.  Wouldn't it be nice if all the weather stations could get together with one story?

I can't chat very long this morning.  I did not find out till close to supper time that Janet would not be coming to help me finish up my tax stuff.  So, I spent last evening trying to do it myself.  I got a lot done, but there are a couple of things that I will need to make phone calls to get some information.  This should be interesting because my appointment with the accountant is at 2 p.m. this afternoon.  Speaking of Janet, today is her birthday.  Happy Birthday Janet.  I hope your day is filled with happiness and laughter.

Wayne called me this week to say that he was back and would be by tonight to pick up my sick laptop.  He will take it home and try once more to fix it.  As for my email with photos from Paris, he just chuckled and said that email was the last thing on his mind while he was in France.  Yeah, I have to agree that if I were in Paris, I would not be spending my time sending emails.

Now, before I leave you to get back to my tax stuff, I have more photos of our beautiful gulls.

Now I really must get busy here.  Eddie is coming by for breakfast, and that dratted paper work is calling to me.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Such A Sleepy Funk

March 28, 2012

Good afternoon.  It's a bit breezy here with rain showers on and off.  You know, this sometimes gray and wet and sometimes sunny weather is putting me in a sort of funk.  I have been so tired all week for absolutely no reason.  I get up, give Tootsie her meds, and go back to bed.  Then we get up for a meal, then it's back to bed.  Finally, last night I had gotten so much sleep that I had trouble getting to sleep late at night.

I'm not depressed about anything, so I can only blame the weather for this weird funk.  Thank goodness Eddie was coming by this morning because it meant that I had to get up.  Maybe it's time to schedule a checkup with my doctor.  I don't like being this way, and I hope things change soon.

You know, it's also possible that this is all tied to my appointment tomorrow with my tax accountant.  It's a known fact that preparing my taxes has always made me physically (and probably mentally) ill.  I realize that it is all psychological but it's not something I can change.

Enough of the unhappy babble.  How about some photos?  While I was at the park last week, a butterfly (or very large moth) landed on a rock long enough for me to get some photos.

I also got some cool photos of a goose who was giving all those around him a piece of his mind.  I chose this particular photo to share because of the beautiful reflections in the water.

Next week, I'm hoping to get back to the park to see if there are any babies (water fowl) to photograph.  I did not see any on my last trip to the park.   I've spotted a few other small ponds in the area, and I'd like to have a look at them too.

I'm expecting Janet in a little while.  Hopefully, we'll have all the tax stuff wrapped up by supper time, and we can sit back and enjoy some TV together.  Meanwhile, I want to get supper started.  I'm thinking that tonight we can have pasta and meat sauce.  That's if the meat has finished thawing.  Otherwise, there's always Marie Callender meals in my freezer.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A QP Freebie For You

March 27, 20121

Good morning.  It's 28 degrees outside and there's a bit of a breeze.  Today's temps are supposed to get up to about 48F.  Not the same as last week, but still it's nice.

Tootsie and I just had a bite to eat, which Tootsie really didn't eat.  Instead she chose to have her chicken jerky chewies.  She is such a picky eater.  One never knows what sort of meal to offer her.  Maybe it's time to pick up another roasted chicken.  That will surely perk up her appetite.

Last night I worked on a QP for the Quick Page Contest at Coolscrapsdigital forum.  We were given a very pretty kit designed by Petite Marie Designs, "Spring A Ling Ding Dong" to use.  Here is my preview and a download link.

You can download this QP here:
EXPIRED

This morning, I have a couple of errands to do.  First I have to visit our local cable company to see if and how they have fixed my bill.  After that, we need to go to the hospital and pick up more of Tootsie's eye medicine.

I have a couple of "critter" photos to share that I took this past Friday while at work.  This first photo is a little red squirrel who is hiding so that I can't take his photo.  But some days my brain actually works pretty good.  I just walked around to the Mrs bedroom and shot the photo through her window.

This next photo is of a bee enjoying a bit of pink hyacinth.  These hyacinth are growing beneath a rhododendron bush so it's a bit shady.

Now it's time to give Tootsie her morning meds, and then I really should get dressed.  The sooner I get started on my day, the sooner I'll be able to play.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Spring Colors Everywhere

March 26, 2012

Good morning.  The sun was shining on my way home from work, but it seems to be hiding behind some clouds at the moment.  Also, a slight breeze has developed, and  I can see the branches on my rose bush moving about a bit.

Aside from an appointment at the nail salon, and a load of laundry for Joe, I think today will be a lazy day.  Maybe a little nap after lunch will refresh me a bit.  Between Saturday night and Monday morning, I don't get a lot of sleep so Monday isn't usually a very productive day.

It's beginning to look very gray outside my window here.  Yesterday's rain did not happen, and I'm beginning to think that maybe it was waiting for today.  Rainy days are great for catching up on sleep.  When the rain does get here, I'm hoping it won't downpour hard enough to break off a lot of the new blossoms on the flowering trees.

Every where you look, there is yellow, purple, pink and white blossoms.  It might be a bit early for this, but it sure is pretty.  Here is a photo of the bush in Mrs' front yard that was all brown twigs a week ago.  Now look at it!

On  my way to and from work, I pass a rather pretty cemetery.  A couple days ago, something caught my eye and I stopped to take a photo of it yesterday.  It was a little Christmas tree, all decorated and keeping watch over some one's loved one.  I found it to be a very warming and tender scene.

Later today, I hope to get working on our next collab kit.  Thanks to Su, the colors are Springy and fun.  But, that's all I can tell you right now.  I also want to work on a QP challenge, which of course, will mean another freebie for you.

That's about all the news for this morning folks.  I have to go see if the trash and recycles have been picked up so that I can bring the barrels back in.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Bits And Pieces Of Me

March 25, 2012

Good morning.  I'm at work (and going home soon) and daylight will be breaking any minute now.  I can see the skies beginning to lighten.  It rained a bit during the night, and I expect more of it today.  But  that's okay.  Janet will be over today to help me get my figures all tallied up for the tax accountant, and I have a bit of laundry to do.

On Friday, Nani bestowed upon me a lovely award called "Tell me about yourself award.  Your blog is great."

The rules are fairly simple.  First, you must thank the person giving the award.  Nani, thank you so much for the honor.  Next, you must share seven things you think people might find interesting about you and select seven fellow bloggeers to give the award to.

Hmmm, what to say about me.  This will take a little while, so I will most likely have to finish this post when I get home.  But I will get it started before I leave here.

1.  In order to get a college education, I took night courses at the local community college whenever I could.  I even took "at home study" classes from Cornell University.  As long as I got "A's" my employer would pay for everything.  (And I did! And they did!)  Once my youngest child was in high school, I was able to go to school full time nights (I worked during the day.)  Then I got accepted for, and earned, my Masters Degree from Antioch University.

2.  At the age of nineteen I became a mother.  By the time I was forty, I was a grandmother, and around the age 63 I was a great grandmother.  I have hopes of seeing some great greats in my time.

**************************
I'm home now, and will continue with my list of seven info bits.

3.  As a child, my dreams were to be a model, an airline stewardess, a fashion designer, a yarn shop owner or a teacher.  Except for the airline stewardess, I managed to accomplish all of my youthful dreams.

4.  As an adult, I have always wanted to write a book.  Aside from my blog books, I have not written one but I hope to do a "coffee table" photo book one of these days.

5.  I am dyslexic to a degree.  When I'm doing crossword puzzles and the answers won't fit in the designated spaces, I put the puzzle down.  Later when I try again, my answers fit.  I have the most trouble trying to read signs.  Even billboards.  Sometimes I have to read them several times before I have them figured out.  Of course, different types of fonts make it even more difficult.

6.  For a while my daughter Deanne and I were voluntary probation officers at the local courthouse.

7.  After more than twenty years of keeping my social work license up to date, I finally gave it up when I got into my early sixties.

So that's bits of me in a nutshell.  Now I have to pass this award on to seven more bloggers.  My problem is that there are only five blogs that I visit every morning.  One of them, of course, is Nani's blog.  So I will list the other four bloggers.

Kyra at "With A Russian-Dutch Heart"
Su at "Suruha-Freespirit"
Queen Jester at "Life In A Canned Ham"
Jenn at "Sugarbutt Designs"

Last night, I clicked on a link on someone's blog and found me a new blog to start following.  It's called  "Lemonade Makin Mama".  I don't know her name, but she writes a very interesting blog with lots of her photographs.  Check her out, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

How about some photos before I sign off.  I took these photos through the window on the plane on my way home from  Florida.  I used the camera on my "smart phone" and did my best to clear up some of the spots from the dirt on the window.

Now it's time to give Tootsie her morning meds.  This morning will be her last dose of antibiotic.  The eye drops will have to be continued for life.  I must say though, that her eye is looking much better than it did when I took her to the hospital.  I'm off now to start my day here.  Till  tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Spring Is Busting Out All Over

March 24, 2012

It's on the gray side and a bit cooler today.  We're expecting some rain showers later today and tomorrow.  Mostly tomorrow.  Not to worry though, all the beautiful new flowers need a bit of rain to keep looking so pretty.

When I got to work yesterday, there were daffodils, hyacinth and forsythia blooming everywhere.  Here are a couple of photos of the hyacinth in the Mrs' yard.

The rows of daffodils were like a large yellow smile, and when I looked closer there was a big bumble bee smack dab in the middle of one of them.  He was working so hard at collecting the pollen that he was literally covered in the stuff.

For some reason, I'm very tired this morning.  Tootsie and I got up earlier, took care of her meds, and then we went right back to bed.  We got up a little while ago and had us some brunch, but I'm still tired.  It must be the lack of sunshine that does this to me.

Maybe I'll take a walk out to see what the dwarfs are up to.  Yesterday afternoon, Tootsie and I took Joe to Walmart to pick up some groceries.  On the way, Joe treated us all to a Dairy Queen ice cream.  You should see how Tootsie's little face lights up when we pull into the parking lot at Dairy Queen.  I carry a little bowl and a spoon in the car just so that I can share my ice cream with her.  She does a little happy dance in her car seat, and then digs into that bowl of ice cream.  Yup!  One happy little camper!

The rain hasn't come yet, and it's still warm outside so maybe I'll take Tootsie out in the yard for a bit.  She looks so cute today in her Red Sox 2004 Championship tee shirt.  Well, that's all the news for today.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.

Hugs, Edna B.

More Great News For Koolaid!

March 23, 2012

Good morning.  Today is a bit cooler, and we might just have a few showers.  It's still quite nice outside though, and all sorts of pretty things are blossoming.  So far, we have hyacinths, daffodils, snow drops and forsythia in bloom.  I took some photos this morning, but they have to be cropped and resized, so I'll post them tomorrow.

I'm at work, and the Mrs is having her breakfast so I only have a short time to post here.  I do want to thank Nani for the lovely award she has given me, and I will post this tomorrow with my list of recipients to give it to.

Dee Dee called me last night to share more good news about Kevin.  Not only did he make the school baseball team, but he will be in the starting lineup.  Way to go, Koolaid!!!!  Did I mention just how proud I am of you?

For today's share photos, I have an interesting shot of a gull taking flight from the water, and a closeup of some new growth on one of my rose bushes.

There is quite a lot of "bird chat" going on right outside the window here.  I'm hoping to photograph some of them hunting for worms and nest materials.  This isn't as easy as it sounds though.  Their hearing is so sharp that I do believe they can hear me breath, and they fly away before I can get my camera up.  But  that's the fun of trying.

That's all for this morning.  I need to get back to work here.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Congratulations Kevin!!

March 22, 2012

Good morning.  It's sunny and warm and heading for the 80's here in my little part of the world.  Remember yesterday's daffodil?  Well it popped open after dark last night.  This morning I went out to get a new photo to share.

While we are enjoying this beautiful weather, the folks in Oregon are coping with new snowfall that is creating all sorts of havoc.  There is also a lot of flooding taking place in the central and southern parts of the country.  I'm still waiting for some genius to figure out how to pipe all the extra water to drier parts of the country.

My grandson Kevin is now a freshman in high school, and this week he tried out for the school baseball team.  Yesterday he got the  good news - he made the team.  Congratulations Kevin!!

The news on TV is very distressing.  FEMA continues to withhold aid to folks around the country who have lost their homes and more due to hurricanes and tornadoes.  What is wrong with this picture?  Why do we have billions of dollars to give away all around the world, BUT NOT TO OUR OWN PEOPLE?  Just where does Congress think this money comes from anyway?  It comes from us, and should go back to us first!!

Here's an update with my battle with the cable company.  Yesterday morning one of the two new converter boxes was not working.  In the process of trying to get it working, the cable company once again managed to mess up my other TV's.

Eddie and I took both of the new boxes back to the cable company and got two new ones.  Again, only one box worked.  After being on the phone for more than an hour, Eddie was finally able to get the tech person on the phone to correct the problem.  I don't know about you, but this is not acceptable service for the money I pay to bring cable into my house.  At the moment, both new boxes are working.

Before I left work this past Monday morning, I took a photo of the tall trees across the street, and then a closeup showing all the birds perched in the tree tops.  They sit up there for a couple of hours calling out to their friends and families (I  think).

I also got a photo (it's more like a silhouette) of one little bird sitting in the Mrs' beauty bush and just singing his little heart out.

Now it's time to see what's in the fridge for lunch.  After that, Tootsie and I want to walk around the yard for a while before the housework starts calling me again.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Groan, Groan, It's Spring Cleaning Time!

March 21, 2012

Good morning.  Well, Tootsie and I thought we might sleep very late this morning, but nope!  Well, we got up earlier to do Tootsie's meds, then went back to bed.  But then the phone rang, so now we're up.  It's good too because we have so much to do on this warm and sunny day..

The cable company managed to screw up my cable service so badly, and our new converter boxes did not work all day or night.  Eddie will be here in a little while to go with me to the cable company to raise a bit of hell.  I guess we just weren't loud enough the other day.

This is when a monopoly is not a good thing.  If we had more choices in cable companies, we probably would have less problems and lower bills.  Actually, it's kind of sad to think how our time can be evolved around TV programs.  I know the day by what is scheduled to play on TV.  Yup, sad!

I did start cleaning out my little computer room yesterday.  Sad to say, this room will be keep me busy for a while.  I have to go through every piece of paper, etc.  I used to print out a lot of stuff that had to do with my computer programs.  However now a lot of that stuff is old and of no use anymore.

Now, I can do a really good job of cluttering all by myself, but my late hubby did an even better job.  He did not throw very much out.  We might need it some day.  So between us, we managed to save quite a lot of stuff.  So I'm thinking that between the little computer room and the back room, I will be busy all through the Spring and Summer.

Yesterday afternoon, Tootsie and I took a break to walk around the yard and check out what is coming up for flowers.  I'm delighted to say that the daffodils will be open soon.

Here's a photo of Tootsie checking some of the plants that are near the shed.  I'm hoping that my lilacs come up this year.  I planted them last year, but by Fall, they weren't looking so good.

That's all the news for this morning.  Eddie will be here soon, and I want to be ready to leave when he gets here.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

WELCOME SPRING!

March 20, 2012

Good morning.  It's such a beautiful day to celebrate the first day of Spring.  The sun is shining and the temperature will be up in the 70's today.  Woo Hoo!   I know it's been warmer than usual, but today our gorgeous Miss Spring is officially here.  All through my gardens, there are green stems popping up everywhere.  Some have buds already.  I just love this time of year.

Yesterday was a busy and productive day.  By mid morning, I set my alarm clock, and Tootsie and I had us a nice little nap.  After a bit of lunch, Dee Dee and Eddie stopped by to disconnect my cable boxes.  Then Tootsie and I were off to the post office to mail some packages.    After that, Dee Dee went with me to the cable company office.  The cable boxes were turned in for adaptors, and I was assured that they would have my bill straightened out before the end of the week.  We shall see!

Later in  the afternoon, Eddie came by to hook up our new cable adaptors.  It was supposedly such a simple thing to do.  I was told that even I could do it with no problem.  Riiiiiiight!  It took Eddie more than an hour and a phone call to the cable company to finally get both of the adaptors working properly.

My next project is to transfer all the photos from my old cell phone over to my laptop.  I will have to call on Dee Dee to help me with this.  I've already tried with no luck.  You know, as much as I love tekky stuff, I am not really so good at figuring out the technical side of things.

Today is Tuesday, and Wayne has not sent me an email with any photos from Paris.  Boo Hoo.  He promised to send me some photos.  Of course, he's probably having so much fun that sending me photos is the last thing on his mind.   I've heard that Paris in Spring time is simply beautiful. Oh, la la.

How about some more photos of the beautiful gulls at our park?  I could fill whole albums with just the photos of these graceful birds.

Now I think I'll have me a look around here and see what mischief I can get into today.  It feels like a good day to start cleaning out my little computer room.  Oh Lord!  Did I say that?  Me?  I'm actually looking forward to doing some house cleaning?  I think I'd better get started on it before I realize what I'm doing!  lol.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Little Bird Talk

March 19, 2012

It's not daylight yet, and I'm still at work.  But the weatherman has assured us of a really nice day to be outside working in the garden.  Actually, the whole week is supposed to be wonderful.  Ahhhhhh!

Yesterday, after a little nap, Tootsie and I went for a ride to the park.  Wowee, was it ever full of people.  It seems like everyone had come out to enjoy the wonderful weather.  There were so many people feeding the ducks and geese, that there was bread floating on top of the water everywhere.  Those birds won't be hungry for a while!

I did get lots of photos of the water fowl, especially the gulls.  I don't ever tire of photographing them.  I'm not sure what these two were discussing or what really upset one of them, but as you can see the chatty one never lets up.

Today, Su and I are posting the last two parts of our collab kit "Sing A Song Of Spring".   This fun kit is quite timely as Spring is officially here tomorrow.  Here is my preview and your download links.

Download here:

EXPIRED

When you're finished downloading, do stop by Su's blog and pick up her two parts.  Here is Su's preview.  Don't forget to take a moment to leave thanks.

Today, I want to get out a bit, maybe go for a little walk.  I enjoyed my walks while on vacation, so I would like to get in the habit of going for walks here at home.  I also need to stop by the post office with my packages, and then on to the cable company to finally settle my cable bill.  I'll also be dropping a lot of the channels we currently have.  No one really needs hundreds of channels.  There is only so much time to watch any of them.

That's it for this morning.  I'll be gathering up my things in a little while and heading on home.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I Remember Nonna

March 18, 2012

It's a gorgeous sunny morning here in my little part of New England and the weatherman is promising us some wonderfully warm temperatures too.  I can definitely dig it!  I worked last night, and after the Mrs went to sleep, I was able to get me some winks too.  This means that I will be able to get out for a bit and enjoy this gorgeous day before it's nap time.

Have you been by Su's blog?  Not only is she feeling a bit better, but she has posted all sorts of goodies for you.  She made so much extra for our collab kit that she put it all into a folder marked "Extras" and posted it on her blog for you along with Parts 3 & 4.  Tomorrow, we'll both be posting Parts 5 & 6.  It's good to have you feeling better Su!

Yesterday, I was busy making up boxes to mail out tomorrow.  This week I will see about picking up another big package of Dunkin Donuts coffee to mail to my son.  It's fun to get packages in the mail, and I enjoy making someone's day happy.  When they smile, my heart smiles too.

As a child, I remember visiting convalescent homes to bring flowers to the elderly residents, or to just play cards or sit and chat with them.  The residents had a fun day, and we did too. I remember making May baskets to bring to our elderly neighbors.

I remember Nonna.  Nonna was an elderly Italian lady who lived across the street from us.  She came from Italy and spoke no English.  One day she was upset with us kids for cutting through her yard, and she came outside yelling and threw a handful of beans at us.  I picked up the beans and took them home.  I planted them in our backyard and had me a bumper crop of beans that summer.  Life was so good back then.

I have a few more photos to share of the beautiful flora in Florida.  Everywhere you looked, there was so much beauty to feast your eyes on.

Now I'm going to see what's for breakfast for Tootsie and me.  Then maybe she and I can go for a ride to the park for a little bit.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Looks Like I'm Due For A Shopping Spree

March 17, 2012

Good morning from my grayish, dampish little corner of the world.  I'm not complaining though, it's really quite comfy outside.  Well, Tootsie and I got up early this morning because we were expecting the cable repairman to be here to find out why my internet speed is so slow.

This is, of course, is very similar to going to the dentist.  Once you get to the dentist, the achy tooth does not hurt anymore.  The cable man showed up, and of course the internet speed was acting rather well.  Go figure!  He did, however, find that my router needs to be updated to access the higher speeds.

My router was top notch in it's day, but somewhere along the way the routers went from G to N.  How was I supposed to know this?   One would think that cable companies would send notices out to their customers explaining about when routers needed upgrading.

Thursday night, Wayne stopped by to drop off my poor sickly laptop.  I can use it to do my puzzles, and to play with Photoshop, but that is all.  So, I've decided to just let it sit and wait for Wayne to come back from vacation.  Then he can take it back and wipe it clean.  There's a 50/50  chance that it will be fine after that, but it's not a guarantee.

So, this morning I'm going through the sale flyers to see what is available for laptops at a good price.  I'm a shopper.  I do not like paying full retail if I don't have to.  On the other hand, I'm not going to pass up value for a sale price.  So I shop around.

If I decide to get a new laptop, my sickly laptop will go to someone else once it is fixed and clean.  This is how I do it when I get new tekky toys.  If my older toy is still good, I pass it along so that someone else can feel that good feeling one gets when they get a new toy.

I'd like to take a moment here to let Nani know that yes, you can be the green teletubby, and I will be the yellow one.  Someone else can be the red one, and I'm saving the purple one for Moo's memory.  He just loved that little purple tubby.

Today, I have some fun photos to share.  This first one was taken at Old Town in Kissimmee, Florida.   Audrey and I were having a little fun taking reflection photos in a shop window.

Next, I have a photo of a "bungee type" ride at Old Town.  My Michael and I used to watch folks on this ride, thinking all the while "You have to have rocks in your head to do this!"   It's sort of like a sling shot.  You sit on the seat, and you get flung way up into the clouds, then back down and then back up....    You definitely have to have a death wish to enjoy this contraption.

Last, but not least, here is another blossom from one of the many flowering shrubs that grow everywhere in Florida.  This one looks like it might be a great attraction for hummingbirds.

That's about all the news for this morning.  It's time now to rustle up some brunch for Tootsie and me.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
