Anyone Have Beanie Babies?

October 22, 2019

Good morning.  Today is rather lovely, with lots of sunshine and temps in the fifties.  My phone app says that it is going to rain tonight and warm up to sixty degrees.  I love a warm rain.  It brings back memories from my childhood of playing and washing in the summer rain.

Before I get started here, let me say that I so appreciate all the comments that you leave here and in the C-Box.  They really start my day off with a huge smile.  So thank you, thank you.

Well, yesterday I never did get to do the laundry, but I was busy most of the day going through blankets and filling a Good Will bag.  When I get done with this, I really should go through all my clothes and get rid of everything that isn't being worn.

Downsizing and getting rid of things really isn't all that easy to do.  About a year or so ago, I tried to downsize my collection of  purses.  Oh wow, now that was difficult.  Each one was a favorite of mine and I didn't really want to give it up.  Eventually, I did fill up a bag to donate to Good Will.  (It was fun though, replacing all of them with new ones.)

I guess one of these days I'll even have to decide what to do with my Beanie Baby collection.  Oh yes, I fell in love with them and did my best to collect as many as I could.  Do any of you have a collection of these?  If so, what did you do with yours?

I don't have any photos to post today so I thought I would share some fun and giggle stories that I borrowed from the web.  I hope they brighten your day a bit.

That middle one reminded me of a time many years ago when I actually did cut a lot of my lawn with a pair of kitchen shears.  It was painful, and I got wicked blisters on my hand.  Obviously, I never did that again.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  After that, I just might get some of that laundry done.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

My collection was brass items. Anything that was brass and shiny. Oh well, it's in a plastic tub in my garage. Every piece of it. Brasso doesn't work well and the cleaner I use to get is not available anymore. I use to go across town but I think the guy is dead by now. Just put your beanie babies up in a safe place because they just might be worth something one day. I gave away some dolls to the goodwill years ago and one was chatty Kathy. I saw her in an antique magazine that is worth a lot of money now. I wish I had kept her.

Cutting the grass with kitchen shears. (laughing hard) I did some edging with some scissors once and never did it again. You are right about the blisters. Thanks for today's laugh. I am a little late today because I had to go back to the kidney doctor. I confessed to him that I didn't take the medication. (lol) He laughed at me and said, you keep it up you will be back on the machine. He was satisfied with the way I look. I told him I am not feeling sick all the time but I do realize I will have bad days. I went back to the lab today. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything get better. I hope you and Pogo have a healthy and blessed day.

Ah, Beanie Babies. My mother-in-law was sure she would have a small fortune selling them, so collected hundreds maybe a thousand. In fact, she filled a shed in the yard with them. Then no one wanted them. As far as I know she still has them, rotting away. *sigh* I wish she would give them to a children's hospital or someplace like that where they could do some good. Thanks for the jokes. I had seen the first one on facebook, but the others were new to me and gave me a chuckle.

My son collected Beanie Babies, he had two giant boxes full. We finally gave them all to the Goodwill except for a few he saved for his kids.
