Back Again, Here's Hoping

Well, I must say. Cleaning up after worms is not what I would call fun. I spent hours locating and re-locating, re-naming. I understand that when some folks use the System Restore program, their computer just goes back to the date chosen. My computer, however, has it's own little quirk. When I have to go back to another date, it takes all my folders, with all their contents, and throws them up in the air, letting them and their contents fall helter skelter where ever they may. It also erases the names from the folders.

So now you get a picture of how I spent last night. I missed the forum chat that was scheduled for 5pm. By the time I could take a break to go to the chat, everyone had already gone home. Wah-h-h! I don't even know where this nasty worm came from. I didn't open anything from anybody new, and I didn't visit anyone new on the web. Wayne, my computer tech will come by in a few days, and make sure everything is back to normal.

In the meantime, I hope some of you are enjoying warmer temperatures. It has been so mean cold here lately. Yesterday morning on my way to work it was 2 degrees. However, just a few towns over, it was 7 below 0. This does not factor in a chill factor. It is supposed to warm up in a few months, so we just have to hang in there for a while.

Bad Day For My PC

Just a short post to let you know, today is not nice. Someone, God bless their little heart, sent me a trojan worm, and it screwed up my computer. I'm in the process of trying to clean up and find whatever's missing.

Where Are You Spring?

Today is bitter cold outside. Inside, my feet are cold. Spring, where are you? Sorry I missed last night, but Moo and I attended the Memorial Service for Dee's Mother-in Law. It seems we are at an age where this happens a bit more frequently.

No fancy supper tonight. Today is a hot chicken soup and a sandwich kind of day. Just staying warm uses up a lot of energy. Want to know how cold it is? The oil man filled us up a week ago, and we are already below the half mark. And this is with a brand new furnace. Florida is beginning to look awfully good to me.

This will be short tonight, because tomorrow is a work day and 5:30 comes very early. I diddled on the computer all afternoon, so I don't really have anything prepared to share with you today. I can share a layout that I made for the Quote Challenge at Magickal Scraps. We had to make a layout about our affirmations for 2009. So enjoy it,

Woe Is January

This is just not turning out to be a very good month. I surely hope that nothing else bad is going to happen. I told you how Dee's mother-in-law passed away a few days ago. Well, yesterday, Dee and her family were returning home from making arrangements, and another car skipped a stop sign and hit her car. Thankfully, it appears that no one was hurt.

And today, another call came in. My stepson called to say that his wife had been in an auto accident this afternoon and was in the hospital, and could I come up. Other than sprained muscles, she is okay.

I tell you, I just do not relish the thought of driving out on these roads today. Too many people not paying attention to the road and the rules we drive by. Tomorrow, Moo and I will attend the Memorial Service, and I pray that things start to get better for all of us.

Tonight, I have a new layout that I made for the Life Journaling Challenge at Magickal Scraps. We are supposed to write about how we spend our Christmas holiday. What used to be such a joyous, noisy and eventful day many years ago, is now a rather quiet day. A day when we share our dinner with others who have none. But it is still nice, and very blessed. Superwoman, Where Have You Gone?

Today will be short. I'm velly velly tired! Not that my job is difficult - it isn't. Two shifts back to back is a long shift. In my superwoman days, stuff like this was a piece of cake. I could even go out dancing afterward. Now I just drag my sorry ass home and hope that Tootsie doesn't want to play too long. Then we can both crash early.

I did get some stuff done last night on my laptop. I made one of the pieces for my blog anniversary special. Then I spent another hour working on a graphic, only to toss it out when I was done. Yuks! What a waste of time.

This afternoon, while at work, I threw some bread out on the snow for the little birds. With all the snow, it's hard for them to find their food. I took a couple of photos, one of which I'll share before I head for my toasty little bed. So stay warm, and enjoy,

Today is another beautiful (I say that quite loosely) snowy day. Actually, it's a child's heaven outside. Snow, snow, snow everywhere you look. But, alas, I am not a child. When I see the snow, I see shovels, skidding, cold - br-r-r-r, and icy car windows that need to be cleared.

The good side of all of this is that I am here, and quite able to complain about it. So, thank you very much, and I'll try not to complain too much.

For Mrs. P - you're very welcome. To my friend Rhoda - where are you Rhoda? - sit an extra hour in the sun for me.

In just a little while, I have to gear up and get ready to go to work. Tonight, I'm going to be working on my anniversary special. Nope, no hints, no peeks. Miss Meema Lady

I'm trying something new tonight. To put a little self-portrait here so that I can feel as though I'm sitting right here chatting with you. I have just spent two hours trying to get this little darling (Miss Meema Lady) to sit on a stool. This was the best I could do. I swear, there must be an easier way to do things. But she is a little darling. She comes from a kit I purchased from Digi Web Studio at http://digiwebstudio.com/. The kit is "School Staff Women." I also wrote and asked for, and received, permission to use her as my little mascot sort of person.

I have a goal for this year, to try to learn something new every week. Even If I miss a few weeks, I'll still learn a lot. So tonight, I'm trying to learn how to manipulate graphics to do what I want them to do. Unfortunately for me, this is not as easy to do as it looks. However, I did it. She might look smooshed up onto that stool, but she's up there!!

I got a distressing call this afternoon. My daughter, Dee, called to tell me that her Mother-in-law had just passed away. So I might miss a night or two this week, depending on what sort of arrangements are made. I have also put a lighted candle in the window for Miss Ginny to help light the way for her journey.

Yesterday, I received a beautiful award from Kyra. Thank you so much, Kyra, this means a lot to me.It doesn't come with any special rules, but I would like to pass it on to a couple a terrific ladies.
