It's Getting Depressing!

February 5, 2015

Gosh, I am getting so depressed at all this snow.  Today's snow isn't too bad, but it is bringing in some wicked nasty cold temps.  Tonight is supposed to be 7 degrees below 0.  Brrrr!  Just a tiny bit too cold for me.

Oh Spring, Oh Spring, where art thou?  Believe it or not, Spring by-passed us and went to Texas.  Beth sent me this photo of a Budding Tree in front of her apartment.   Now I'm getting jealous!

Instead of budding trees, we have more snow coming this Saturday night, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  Old Man Winter just isn't letting up on us.   Here's a photo of how our snow was looking yesterday.  As you can see, the snow piles around the yard are way taller than my car.

And this is what it looked like through my window just a little while ago.   It's amazing how "wicked" can be beautiful!

I checked the photo word list and found that the word for January Day 17 was "Expand", so here's my Day 17 photo.  I have "Expanded" our bird feeding area to include the ground underneath my car.  Right after I shot this photo, I went out with a bowl of food and spread it beneath the front of my car.

Daughter Deanne just phoned to tell me that Eddie is already at home.  There was no need for him to go to a rehab facility because he is already doing everything that would be done there.  The physical therapist will come to the house for a while.   Good luck Eddie.  Here's hoping the next few months go by quickly and well for you.

Well, I got off to a late start this morning, and now it is time to make some lunch for my little guy.  Folks, you just can't imagine how comforting it is to look over at his little sofa in the middle of the night and see him all snuggled under his fuzzy blankets and snoring away.  It really makes my eyes smile.

That's my news for today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and warm and have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Beautiful snowy photos Edna! I will pray for Eddie. I have a few mudding photos I am going to put on my blog. Our backyard is dirt and when it snows and melts, it's mud! when Nick was at Cowley he would say the country kids would go mudding in their trucks. While the first time I was semi stuck in our muddy yard Nick got a howl out of it! "My mother, mudding in our backyard"! LOL! MY tires were muddy earlier. Always fun to say hi and congrats to your team at the Super Bowl! When people were mean to me last year about the Bronco loss I would say "Where was your team, "That's right NOT at the Super Bowl"! HaHaHa enjoy your evening and stay warm~!

I can't blame you for being depressed ... you have had an extraordinary amount of snow and it still seems to be coming. We have had quite a bit, but actually much less than last year. I guess mother nature decided it was your turn this year. Actually I think she is punishing all of us for mistreating mother earth the way we have. And, yet, we continue to be illogical about what needs to be done ... so sad.

Izzi is not too happy about Mint. Not that she won't like Mint in time, but Izzi is an Aussi and Aussies have a thing about strangers ... it is their job to protect their herd from strangers so she sounds the warning every time Mint comes up stairs ... but it is getting better and she has accepted treats from Mint so it is just a matter of time now. We are thrilled to have her here. She is so relaxed and comfortable with us. Sweet and thoughtful ... and my son is all smiles which makes us all happy. They are busy getting settled and planning their life ... oh to be young again! No wait, I really don't want to be young again, but I am sure enjoying watching their love bloom.

I now have to plan one Birthday party for both kids ... they were born 3 years and 5 days apart, so we always kill two birds (BD's) with one stone. That will be happening this weekend and I have to come up with the desired ice cream cakes ... I tried ordering them on line, but their needs are too special and don't fit into thier "canned"choices. So another problem to solve ... does it ever end? Anyway. I am going to call and see if they will take an order by phone. Time is rinning out :(
So you keep bundled and I ams glad to see you are helping your feathered friends. I am sure they need all they can get with all of that snow. Hugs to Pogo ... hope the end of the snow is in sight ...

I understand you get a bit depressed by all that snow, and no view on it that it will be over soon.
Oh, look at that budding tree! It gives someone a little hope.
Jan told me the other day that already snowbells are showing their heads in our garden!
I am later than normal, so will hurry to write my blogpost.
Have a nice day, Pogo just knows how to come through these wicked snow-days, isn;t he?
Hugs

Also sitting in the snow and brutal temps with you. Yes depressing but trying to keep a stiff upper lip. However I am about to create a tear off countdown that I used to use for my son when he was young. 73 days til SPRING
