A Rose In December And A Brand New Kit

December 5, 2011

It's early yet, only 5 a.m. and it's still quite dark outside.  I've been busy during the night reading one of my Photoshop books, "Top 100 Simplified Tips & Tricks".  It's a visual learner book, and I love it.  I'm a show me gal.  Pictures with arrows pointing to things is easier for me to understand.  Later today, I have a few new things to try in Photoshop.

You know folks, last week was a four year anniversary since my Michael has been gone.  On Thanksgiving morning, there was a brand new bud starting to open on the yellow rose tree.  Yesterday morning when I got home from work, I looked out the window and there it was!  The beautiful yellow bud had fully emerged.   Remember the little verse:  "God gave us our memories so that we might have roses in December"?

Today, we have the first two parts of our brand new December kit, "Home For The Holidays".   This month's theme and color pallette are from Su.  Because there are so many traditional Christmas kits available, we thought we would use non traditional yet festive colors.  I must say we put together a really beautiful kit for you.  Here is my preview for the first two parts.

Here is your download link:   EXPIRED

When you have finished downloading, be sure to visit Su's Blog to pick up her parts.  While you are there, don't forget to take a moment to stop and say thank you.

Do any of you have an attachment for odd things such as rocks, paper and glass?  I think these things must have been important to me in a past life because I have been very attached to them in this life.   All my life, I have been known to stop and pick up a pretty rock or a piece of glass and take it home with me.  As for paper, for some reason I cannot pass it up when it is on sale.  I have notebooks up the ying yang.

The photography theme for this week is glass, so I took a photo of my favorite piece of glass.  I found this one day when Michael and I were out looking for pieces of quartz.   It's a large chunk and mainly red with bits of orange, yellow and white.  Isn't this gorgeous?

That's all for this morning.  It's time to check on the Mrs again.  Another hour or so, and I'll be on my way home.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I have lots of rocks and from several countries. I always try to pick up a pebble here and there to bring home. I believe they carry energy and are precious. I don't know what kind they are or remember where they were from or where I put them...they are just around me.

{{{Hugs}}} Edna, I love the photo and the verse and it moved me, brought a warm chill, ya know what I mean?

Thank you for the quick pages, You know the quick pages first just makes us all so hungry to see the full kit!? :)

Now, I need to know. WHERE is the ying-yang? My Mom used to keep stuff there too!! I’m afraid I must have been a bag-lady in a precious life! I am obsessed with tote bags. I’m an easy sale if an item comes with a free tote and that’s on top of the totes I buy! But I must admit, easily, that your favorite piece of glass photographs much prettier than my favorite tote!

Hugs, Nani

What a beautiful layout with the rose!
I just took the pills for my back one day and I think they are going to help. Must be careful shouting out : hallelujah!"(LOL), but I might be rid of it in a few days.
Attachment for strange things? I guess I have them too. Like you, I am nuts about paper, it's a bit less than in earlier days, but still love to see e.g. note books, writing paper, wrapping paper, etc.
Same with pens! And Christmas decorations. So you see why it is dangerous leaving me alone in a big shop with all those things in tons before the eyes?????
I'll take an easy day again today, take my pilss and hoping tomorrow I will be able to do some things already!
Have a wonderful day
Hugs
Kyra

Your yellow rose tells the story...precious memories are just that! The best part about your talents is how you share them with all of us...the bad part is we wish the photo was in our camera! Enjoy!
