A Super Cool Visitor

July 10, 2016

Good morning.  Tis gray and foggy this morning.  The weather forecast is for some sun and clouds today with temps in the low 70's.  Very comfortable for breathing and sitting out on the porch.  (as long as it isn't raining)

Speaking of the porch, later today I will put Pogo's play yard away and put my chairs back in the trunk of my car.  The plant stand and the new doormat will also go back in the trunk.  But just for a little while.  The crew will be back here in the morning to finish working on the porch.  Here's a photo of my cute new doormat.

*****I'm back.  Pogo spotted Joe making his coffee out in the kitchen, and insisted on having his turkey treat right then and there.  So we went out to the laundry room so that my little guy could have his morning treat.

Yesterday morning, we had a visitor here in the yard.  Instead of hiding in the trees, it decided to sit on a corner on the roof.  Meanwhile, all the little birds and critters scattered for cover.  My friend Andrea says this is a Red Tail Hawk.  Even though I'd rather it went hunting for lunch in another yard, it really is a beautiful bird.

With these cooler temps, I've picked up my crocheting again, and now there are only ten more rows to go and the scarlet afghan will be finished.  I was thinking I might sit out on the porch today and crochet for a bit, but it has been sprinkling on and off.  Hmmm, I may have to rethink that.  A little bit of sun just came creeping across my yard.  Gosh, you just never know what's up with this weather.

With all the violence on the news lately, did anyone catch any news of the oldest living person who just passed away at the age of 130?  No?  I didn't think so.  I didn't catch all of the story either.  But wow!  That's quite an age to live to!  God bless her soul.

Well, now it's time for me to see what sort of mischief I can get into today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Well, the hawk should have another place for staying and hunting, but I agree, it is a beatiful bird.
It's hard with the changing weather to make decisions, of being outside or not, we have the problem here too at the moment.
we just have to grab the moments it is good enough to go outside and enjoy that as much as possible.
Today we have a lot of wind which makes it less comfortable.
Perhaps today is good day to do some laundry and ironing.
ope the guys will finish the proch today so that you can enjoy it the rest of summerand even autum time!
Have a wonderful day.

Oh my goodness, that hawk is something! I wish the rabbits would move their bunnies elsewhere. I feel like they are some politicians relatives. Hee Hee! No offense to anyone, but I think those rabbits are real socialists.
I am waiting for several books and cards from amazon.com! I was in the Dollar Tree store one day and bought a book. I read it in one day. Then I found the author and it was the second book in a four boo series. Oh well, it was still awesome. Now I finished the first book and received the fourth int he series and still waiting for book 3.
I found a lot of really nice encouragement cards on amazon. Spread the word, if anyone has any birthdays, anniversaries, anything they wish to share, we are glad to send cards. Just get me names and addresses for mailing.
I have read these past few weeks of WWII vets passing away too. So sad. 130 years old, that was quite a life. I would love to sit and talk to someone who could tell their story. I love hearing about life in a different era.
My friend Lorna is at a family reunion in Kansas. She traveled there with her sister. It is a teeny tiny town but the food she said is incredible. I guess they have these reunions each year. She posted some pics too. She is my friend who saves feral cats. I guess word got out and lately she has had several pregnant cats dumped in her yard. She is such a wonderful person and wants to have a cat sanctuary when she retires. One of my favorite people. A kind heart.
I opened all the windows but can smell a skunk ! UH-oh better warn Hannah not to let Leo out! He is too curious!
Waiting for the hubby to get home. I hope traffic is quiet for him. When the Rockies are in town it makes for tough traffic as the people pour out into the streets and it is directly in his path to get home. No good way around downtown. Too much going on. But I do love it if they would stop letting all these out of towner's move here. Real estate and rent is sky high.
I met a lady from PA. in the store last week. She said we were too liberal. The government honey but not all the people. I am tired of this legalized marijuana. They all yammer on about the health benefits! Hmmm... smoking, ingesting smoke into your lungs! O K ! Two young children have died one in a fire and one from ingesting the drug since this was legalized. If it
is so good why don't they have it in the white house or in congress or the senate?!? Always a sad excuse. The money they rake in makes them greedier. Now we have to pay for all these toll roads. Years ago the lottery was going to make our highways and byways nice and new! Ha! In a fairy tale perhaps. We are taxed to death and nothing is ever for the good of the taxpayer. So frustrating! But if you hate it, I say "Bye Felicia"! The more that leave the happier I am!
I hope my last comment will publish I got a strange error. Anyway the lil teen gals are so cute with their big smiles and cute photo. It is so nice to have family. we went from 7 of us to 25 and next year, God willing, 26! Boy oh boy what a joy it would be for my folks to see all these lil ones! It is the one thing that keeps me sane.
Enjoy your new porch. I am excited to see it.
Hugs!
