This is my second post this morning. Google (or something else) just erased my post. So I'll start over. Today is lovely, temps in the low eighties, lots of sunshine and a bit of a breeze. We have two more days like this in the forecast before things heat up again.
Today I got another scam email. This one was asking me to update my credit card information in order for them to process a suspicious looking order. Instead, I called the company and asked them if they had sent this to me. They said no and gave me an email address to forward the email to so that they can investigate it.
Be careful about the emails that you get. If they look suspicious, contact the company involved. They might be scams. Don't ever give them the information requested or fill in any forms they send you in the same email. I've gotten a couple of these regarding my credit score. I checked and found out that these were scams too. In today's world, we have to be extra careful.
A few days ago, I had ordered an extra battery and a battery charger for my carpet sweeper. The battery came a couple days ago, and today the charger came. Except that it's not a charger, it's another battery. I called the company, and they told me to keep the battery, and they will send me a charger. They apologized for the mishap.
Another gift that I had ordered also came today. It's a little pink kitty shoulder purse for a great granddaughter's birthday. I'll put some money in the purse and she can go shopping for something she likes. Two really pretty pairs of earrings came with the purse. I think she'll like them.
Remember a while back I posted about an owl bed doll that Audrey is making for her granddaughter Alena? Well, she finished the doll and is it ever adorable! She used a bed doll pattern and made necessary adjustments to make it fit the little owl. Awesome job, Audrey! Here''s a photo of the doll and another photo of the doll on the bed.
Well, Pogo did have an appointment with his doctor for a check up, but I totally forgot about it. So, this morning I called the hospital to apologize and make a new appointment. They were very nice and gave us an appointment for next week.
I also have a photo of my tomato plant to show how it's coming along. The plant is getting taller and the little tomatoes are starting to turn red.
Now it's time for me to see what's for lunch. Plus it's starting to get too warm in here so I need to put the fan on. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Treasures In My Backyard
July 12, 2018
Good morning. It's such a pretty day today. The sun is shining, there's a teeny tiny breeze and the temperature is seventy degrees. In a couple hours, temps will be right round eighty degrees, still super nice.
Well, yesterday, I made it to the market and did a bit of grocery shopping. While I was there, I found two new yarns that I just couldn't pass by, so in the basket they went. I'm not sure what I'll make with them, but they are so pretty that I'll figure something out. The colors are Purple Passion and Gold Ombre. (the ombre is orange and golden yellow)
After I got back home and the groceries were all put away, Pogo and I took a nice long walk around the yard. Have you ever heard the expression "The best place to hide something is right in front of you?" Well, for some of us, this is true. Specifically, me.
A few years ago, I discovered that there is a huge tree tucked in between the gentle giants (Norwegian Spruce trees) that has white flowers on it in the Spring. Well yesterday I discovered another tree, only this one has always been right in plain sight. It's huge, and it towers over the back corner of my house.
While Pogo and I were out in the yard yesterday, I thought I saw something way up in the trees by the back corner of the house. It was something tiny and I could not make it out so I got out my camera and zoomed in on it. Well golly me! It looks like berries! After looking this tree up on Google, I think it might just be a Mulberry tree.
Here is a picture of mulberries that I borrowed from Google, followed by a photo of part of a branch in my tree along with a close up of the berries. What do you think?
This sort of makes me wonder what other treasures are hiding among my trees. I never knew that Mulberry trees grew this tall. (actually, I never saw a Mulberry tree) My house is tall and this tree just towers over it. The bottom branches are the same height as the second story roof on my house.
Deanne just stopped by on her way home from grocery shopping. Jasmine is having her graduation party this coming Saturday, and Deanne has to start getting all the food for the party ready. God love her, she's been working hard all week, getting the pool ready, cleaning the house and yard, and now all the buying, prepping and cooking of the food. Hopefully, this awesome weather is going to hold out for the party.
Now it's time for me to get busy and wash the dishes awaiting me in the sink. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Re-Learning A Fun Hobby
July 11, 2018
Good morning. Today is starting out cloudy, with a few scattered puddles here and there. Temps are in the upper sixties. Later this morning the temps will rise to the upper seventies with lots of sunshine. It's a perfect day for grocery shopping. So that's what I'll do when I finish this post.
Yesterday, I had a few things that I wanted to do, but somehow I got side-tracked. Hmmm, sounds familiar. My new cassette converter arrived, so I thought I would like to try it out. Scatter brain kicked in, and I decided instead to try to record some music onto a CD with my portable CD player/writer.
The CD player on my laptop hasn't worked in a couple of years. A stroke of genius led me to the help button. I looked up trouble shooting and somehow it got my CD play working. At least partially. It only took a couple hours to figure out how to record ten songs onto a disc, and I didn't have to use the portable drive.
At this point, I decided to try this on my desk top computer. It's old, but it still works. Sadly, I don't have a lot of my music on this computer, so I had to make a new list of songs to record to disc. After another couple hours, I finally had two discs with recorded music.
You know, when my Michael was alive, we would spend hours together on our computers, recording our favorite music on to discs. I haven't done it since, and I miss it. I seem to have forgotten all I knew about recording songs to disc. Gosh, I need a few more hours each day to do all the fun things that I want to do.
Today I have a couple photos of the Irises in my garden. A lot of them have passed by now, but they were beautiful.
As I sit here and type, the sun has come out. Everything looks so pretty outside. When I get back from grocery shopping I'll take Pogo out for a walk around the yard. Maybe a few of the puddles will have dried up by then.
Tomorrow, Pogo has an appointment with his doctor for a check up. He's been having trouble clearing his throat and I want it checked. I'm glad the hospital called me to remind me of this appointment because I had forgotten it. Well, I didn't really forget it, I just thought it was a few more days away.
Today I have a new quick page for you. This is a fun page and might be nice for photos of your little ones. Enjoy it.

Gummies For The Cure?
July 10, 2018
Good morning. Today is looking quite lovely. The sun is shining, there's a little breeze (my flag is waving in slow motion) and the temperature is eighty degrees. Today will be a bit warm though, with temps rising to the mid nineties.
Yesterday I got caught up doing a few things and never made it out to the Post Office or grocery shopping. Well, the shopping can wait another day, but the Post Office can not wait. I have birthday things to put in the mail. If I can't get out today, I'll ask Joe to mail the packages for me. Tomorrow is supposed to be cool, so that will make it perfect for shopping.
HSN never got back to me about whether or not they would let me ship items to my own address, so I called them yesterday. At first, they said the answer was still "no." When I asked about the fairness of this, the person on the phone hung up on me. The second time I called, I got a busy signal. That's never happened before.
The third time I called, the lady in customer service said that she would see about changing my address enough to make it different from the tenants. You know, by adding "rear" to my address, or a room number for the tenants. She did not promise anything, but said that she would see about it. In the future, if HSN has something that I want or need, I'll look to see if Amazon has it, and I'll buy it there. Amazon has just about everything. (I already looked up one product and found a better deal on Amazon, plus the free shipping.)
A while ago, I found an interesting fairly new product on the web. It's called Miracle Gummies, or CBD (Cannabidiol), and it's supposed to be the cure-all for just about anything that might ail you. It's main ingredient comes from Cannabis. It doesn't get you high, it just cures you.
This item was on the program Shark Tank, and here's a snippet that I found on the web.
"Thursday, May 31, 2018 - It was the most watched episode in Shark Tank history when doctors' Daniel Patel and Eric Hernandez won over the Shark Tank panel. Never before had the judging panel unanimously decided to each invest millions of dollars into a potential company. After buying a staggering 25% share in the doctors company, the Shark Tank panel have personally mentored the pair, helping them undergo re-branding and re-packing of their amazing product."
Sound good? I did a bit more research, and found the price. $40, plus S&H, for a thirty day supply. It sounds a bit high priced to me. Although it might be a good deal for some folks. Just thought I'd share.
A while ago, I mentioned that I ordered another copper ring. This new one is set with pink Topaz, and it arrived a few days ago. Isn't this pretty? Not the wrinkles, the ring!
Rock painting is very popular in some places, and I found this really cute picture (on the web) of some painted rocks. I think this is something that I'd like to try. You paint the little rocks, and place them about for other folks to find. Imagine the talent that went into painting all these adorable kitties. They look so real.
I have a batch of small rocks on the porch that I use to put in the bottom of some of the plant pots. I'm thinking that this might be something fun to do, on a cooler day of course.
Now I need to do a few things around here. Well, actually, there's a lot of things needing something, but I'm only going to do a few. (Just trying to be honest) On that happy note, I'll take my leave. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Fifty Dollars Is Fifty Dollars!
July 9, 2018
Good morning. It's looking to be another gorgeous day here in New England. The sun is shining, there's a wee bit of a breeze, and the temperature is in the low seventies. Soon though, it will rise to the upper eighties.
I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to go grocery shopping today. I probably should have already gone earlier this morning. I wanted to sign up for a new food delivery program, but I wasn't too excited about the products that were being offered. I had the impression that I could order whatever I wanted, but I think I that's not quite how it works. I will just have to go back and read the information over again.
At first, I thought I might sign up for WalMart's delivery program, but considering the spaced out answers I get from most of their employees whenever I ask a question about a product, I don't think I would trust them to pick out my food. I do know that there are a lot of really nice, smart people working for that company, but we just don't seem to have many of them at the store near me.
Today I thought I'd show you the book called "Never Quit Drawing." Inside, it says that it takes about sixty six days of doing something over and over for it to become a habit. So, there are sixty six double pages. The idea is to set aside some time every day to draw until it becomes a fun habit. Also, by the time you get to the end of the book, your drawings will be looking pretty good. Here's the book and a photo of the first double page.
Well, yesterday, I did not get around to washing the little solar thingies. Instead, after I ran the sweeper around a bit, I took it outside to clean it. You can't imagine the sorts of yukky things that get caught up in the roller brushes. Well, maybe you can. It took me a while, but I finally got the sweeper clean. Afterwards, I went to re-charge its battery only to find that I cannot find the charger piece. Yup, story of my life. If I touch it, you'll never see it again!
Rather than get stressed out, I went on Amazon and order a new charger. I also ordered a second battery. This way I'll always have a fully charged battery. I also ordered a cassette converter so that I can move all my cassette music and stories to discs. The converter will change the format to mp3. I have a large collection of cassettes, and it will be nice to be able to save them.
I found a really funny story on the web, and borrowed it to share here with you. This should give you a giggle or two.
Now it's time for me to get dressed, wash up the breakfast dishes, and figure out what mischief to get into today. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

There's Nothing Quite Like A Good Book
July 8, 2018
Good morning. Today is simply perfect. The sun is shining, and temps right now are in the sixties. Soon they will be in the low to mid eighties. It's a gorgeous day to be outside. I have two boxes of solar thingies that need to be washed before they can be put up on the porch rails. Maybe that would be a good project for today.
A couple days ago, some books that I had ordered arrived in the mail. I made a layout showing the books. They contain everything I need to know about staying healthy, eating good food and nourishing my creative urges to draw again.
I firmly believe in a lot of the old fashioned cures. When I was a little girl, I stepped on a railroad spike. This made a nasty hole in my foot. (This is a good reason not to play on the railroad tracks!) My mother cut up a large potato, placed slices of the raw potato on the top and bottom of my foot, and then wrapped my foot with gauze. She replaced the potato slices as needed, and my foot healed nicely.
If you like owls, I found a wonderful free pattern on the web for making an owl basket. Using thick yarn keeps the basket sturdy. You can find the pattern by googling "free crochet owl basket pattern" or email me and I'll send you the pattern. Isn't this cute?
Do you want to feel good about people in general? Go visit Sean of the South, and read today's short story. You just gotta love this guy. Good people and beauty are everywhere, and he seems to find them all. I try to start every day by stopping by his blog first thing in the morning.
Today I have a new quick page for you. Is there someone in your life that you are missing? Most of us are missing someone so I thought I'd make a page for it. I hope you like it.

Now I think I'm going to refresh my cup of coffee and take it out on the porch. Maybe I'll crochet a while and listen to the birds. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Here are a few of the tips in this book for lowering your cholesterol. Eat lots of garlic, or take an over the counter garlic supplement. Eat fish two or three times a week. A tuna sandwich counts as a meal. Instead of snacking on potato chips, try munching on Kellogg's Raisin Squares (cereal, for roughage). Try taking Metamucil, one teaspoon two or three times a day to flush your system of cholesterol.

I'm Loving These Cooler Temps
July 6, 2018
Good morning. My goodness, it feels rather nice outside this morning. At least for now. Temps are in the low eighties, the sun stays mostly behind the clouds (at least so far), and there's a teeny tiny breeze. My flags are so happy, they've been waving at the trees and anybody else who passes by. Now if we could just get a bit of rain, the whole day would be just perfect.
These past few days with temps in the high nineties have been wicked, so Pogo and I haven't been doing much of anything. Today, though, we might be able to sit out on the porch for a while. We did go out there earlier this morning to water the plants, and the breeze felt oh so nice. There's a chance we might have thunder storms sometime today. Here's hoping they bring a little rain with them
I spent most of yesterday watching QVC. They've been having some really awesome bargains. I did order a new Air Innovations swirl fan for the living room out in the house. This type of fan reaches every part of the room, so it doesn't matter where you are sitting. You'll still feel the cooling breeze.
Wow, a Northern Flicker just landed on the ground near the greenhouse, and I grabbed my camera to see if I could get a photo. Of course, that was not to be. Big mouth ran to the door and started barking the minute he saw me grab the camera, and the bird flew off into the trees. Thanks, Pogo!
Today I thought I'd share some photos of the plants growing in the greenhouse. The veggies seem to be growing rather slowly, but they are growing. This first photo shows the bell peppers, and the second photo is the tomatoes.
In this last photo, there is from left to right, my Christmas mums plant, a blueberry plant, and the strawberry plant.
Somehow a wicked nasty bug got into the house yesterday and I didn't notice. However, while I was asleep last night, this nasty little critter feasted on my arm. There are three really big red bite spots on my arm this morning.
Let me tell you folks, when I catch up with this "whatever bit me," it is going to breathe its last breath. I'm going to smack it to death and then flush it down the toilet!! I'm not a violent person, but turn me loose on a bug and wowsie! I turn into a murderous lunatic! Whap! Take that! Sit still so I can smack you! Sometimes it takes a bit of work, but I don't stop till the job is done!
I think now I'll throw my bedding into the washer. While it is washing, I'm going to take my coffee and Pogo and I are going to sit out on the porch. So, till Sunday, Y'all stay cool and have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.
