Happy New Year!!!!

January 1, 2017

Good morning and Happy New Year everybody!  It's now 2017, and I'm hoping that this will be a super good year for all of us.  The sun is shining and it looks to be another nice winter day.  (cold but tolerable)

To start  the new year, here's the cover and the first month from my new calendar.  Doesn't my little Pogo look ever so precious sleeping and dreaming of all the goodies that Santa might be bringing?

Well, Pogo and I did not watch the fireworks last evening, but we did stay up to see the new year in with each other.  I got out the cheesecake that Jazzy and Janice made for me, and Pogo and I pigged out for a bit.  Oh my, yummy!!

I've come across another interesting TV station that is mostly all crime stories.  So that's what Pogo and I watched all last evening.  If you're interested, and your cable carries it, it's called Investigation Discovery.  (ID)  Actually, we're watching this same station today.  The different stories are quite interesting.

Today I have a new quick page for you.  Maybe you have a fun photo from last night's celebrations to use with it.  Have fun.

Well, I made a little dent the other day in putting away some of the Christmas gifts.  Today I'll see about putting the rest of them away.  Then Pogo and I will have us a nice lazy day.  Maybe I'll start another crochet project.  Last night, I finished up a new scarf.  This will go in a tote to be sent to the Indian school for next winter.  DIL Janet says she will make a few things too.  Having help makes the project seem not so big.

There's lots of good things coming for this year.  Jazzy will be taking driving lessons soon.  She turns seventeen this Thursday.  Janice turns eighteen on Valentines Day and will graduate high school in May.  And, another great granddaughter will be born soon.  My goodness, the blessings just keep on coming!

I will be making a new blog book in a couple days.  That means that I'll be expiring all the links for QP's in October, November and December.  After I make my blog book, I'll re-post the links for the December QP's.  So make sure you have downloaded the QP's that you want.

That's my news for this morning.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a Happy New Year's Day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'll See You All Next Year!!!

December 30, 2016

Good morning.  Today is cold, but the sun is shining.  A lovely way to end the year.  Yesterday's rain came intermittingly, and changed over to snow around suppertime.  We only got about an inch, just enough to cover everything.  Already a little of it has melted.

Yesterday, I was going to take more photos, but I did not get around to it, so I'll do it today.  It was just sort of a lazy day for me.  I did wash the dishes and feed Pogo though, so all was not lost.  This morning I got caught up a bit on my blog reading, so today is starting out a bit perkier.

My plans for today are to set up my new induction burner and try it out.  I may even try out one of my new pans.  Today might be a good day to make a pan of pasta and sauce.  Mmmm, yup, that sounds downright tasty!

Pogo has been more picky than usual lately, so I'm not really sure what to cook for him.  Last night he turned up his little nose at a very tasty steak.  I guess I'll have to eat it for him.  Oh yes, in my house it is definitely okay to eat off the doggie dish.  As long as you like your food cut up into very small pieces.  Most of the time you'll be eating steak or hamburger.  Even bacon.  Sometimes I cook up some bacon to tempt my little guy into eating.

I found a couple photos on the web that I think are simply beautiful, and wanted to share with you here.  I found them on a site named HypeDojo.  Can you tell I love animals?

I was thinking of going grocery shopping this morning, but daughter Deanne is going to be stopping by, so maybe I'll go later.  I don't really need very much so it won't matter if I don't go at all.  Pogo and I have plenty of food in the house.

Now I think I'll get dressed and tidy up the place a bit.  It will be nice to sit and chat with my daughter for a while.  This will be a very busy weekend, and the next time I see her, or all of you, will be in the New Year.

On that note, let me wish all of you a safe and happy New Year's Eve.  Please remember to take along a designated driver if you're planning to go partying and have a drink of two.  Y'all have a fantabulous day now, and a Happy New Year.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Quick Page For Old Memories

December 29, 2016

Good morning.  Today is gray with a very good chance of rain for most of the day and maybe part of the evening.  I guess I'll do my grocery shopping tomorrow morning.  I'm not really crazy about shopping in the rain.

Well, yesterday after work, DIL Janet came by and we had a lovely visit getting caught up on each other's news.  After we had supper, we opened presents and watched a bit of TV.  Wow, Janet really spoils me.  She not only brought me a bag full of presents, but she also brought home-baked cookies, lemon cake, lemon squares (by now you must have guessed that I like lemon!) and a blueberry pie.  Later today, I'll take more photos later today.

Today I have some photos of a few more of the gifts that Pogo and I received from two of our friends.  A new duster to take on my vacation, and a new sweater for Pogo.  There was also some craft tote bags and a coffee mug.  (they don't show)  Pogo also got a handsome digital art photo of him and his friend Izzi,, and I got two beautiful books of my friend Andrea's creative digital art.

I also got some wonderful news this week.  Daughter Deanne was approved for her LTC (license to carry).  She'll have to wait a couple more weeks to pick it up though because of her city's backlog.  Congratulations Deanne!!

I was going to try out my new ergonomic crochet hooks the other night, but I did not get around to crocheting, so tonight I'll be trying them out.  They have soft rubber handles, and each hook is a different color.  I ordered myself a little carry bag to put them in, and that order arrived last evening.

Today I need to put a few of  our new things away.  On my next trip out to do errands, I'll pick up a couple frames for Pogo's new pictures.  Then we'll find a place on the wall to hang them.  I have just the place in mind.

Yesterday, I made a scrap page using one of Kyra's kits "Memories Are Time Machines."  I found a photo of a cousin of mine on the web, and I downloaded it.  I used this photo and a photo of my brother to feature on the scrap page.

I've made the layout into a quick page for you.  I hope you you can use it.

Now it's time for me to get a few things done around here.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

So Many Blessings

December 28, 2016

Good morning.  Tis on the cloudy side today, and temps should reach about 40F degrees.  Not so bad for this time of year.  Tomorrow we're supposed to have some rain, so maybe I'll wait till Friday to go grocery shopping.  We'll see.

Yesterday the mailman brought packages, and so did the UPS guy.  Wow!  My new induction burner is here along with a few more presents for Pogo and me.  I'll take some photos today to share here tomorrow.

Hopefully, DIL Janet will be coming by later today after work.  She wasn't able to come by last week, so we have lots to catch up on.  I've saved a couple episodes of our favorite TV program so that we can watch them together.

Today I thought I'd share photos of a few of my great grandchildren.  As you can see, they all had a very happy Christmas.  First we have Alima, who has learned to walk.  Then we have her big brother and sister, Jack and Lilah.  Next is Aurora (she'll be walking soon) and then we have Alena, who is wearing her new dress.  I am so very blessed.

My goodness, I just looked up towards the front door, and the sun is shining.  Looks like it will be a great day after all.  In a little while, I'll open the door and put Pogo's little scatter rug down so that he can sit by the door and watch the birds and critters outside.

This afternoon, I'd like to spend some time on my laptop creating a couple new quick pages.  After that, it will be time to start a new backup of all my files.  It's been a while since I've backed everything up.

It's time for me to start shopping for airline tickets for my upcoming trip to Florida.  It takes a while to shop around for the best price.  After that, I'll start practicing how to pack a little bag.  (haha)

Well, that's my news for today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Sleepless In New England

December 27, 2016

Good morning.  I slept in late this morning, and then did a few things before settling down to post here.  Now it's almost noon.  Where does the time go?  Today is warm, 50F degrees outside.  Woo Hoo!  Let's not get too excited though because tomorrow will be back in the upper 30's.

Gosh, last night I just could not get to sleep.  I would doze off for a bit, then something would wake me.  This went on all night, so it's no wonder that I tried sleeping very late this morning.  Even Pogo was a bit restless.  He bed-hopped most of the night.  First to his little sofa, then to his comfy chair.  Then he would want to be put up on the big sofa.  This went on for a while until he finally fell into a nice deep sleep.    (it will be nice when he gets used to his steps)

Today I was going to post photos of all the wonderful gifts that I got for Christmas, so I tried putting them all on one page layout.  This is most of them.  The box of rice, along with cooking instructions, came with a new microwave.  I've left the plastic on the doll's arms until I find the perfect spot for her in my doll hutch.  Isn't she beautiful?

I will be having fun for quite a while with some of my new projects, and watching my Trump Chia plant grow a full head of hair.  I'm also anxious to try my new ergonomic crochet hooks.  They are supposed to make it so much easier to crochet for longer periods of time with no discomfort to the hands.   I want to thank my family and all my wonderful blogger friends for these awesome gifts.

Today I'm waiting for two more boxes to arrive, one from a friend and one should be my new induction burner.  After the burner comes, I can try out the new square pan that Pogo got for me.  Right now, I see a UPS truck pulling up out front so I'll have to go now.  This could be my packages.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

I Hope Everyone Had A Wonderful Christmas

December 26, 2016

Good morning.  Gosh, I hope everyone's Christmas was as wonderful as mine and Pogo's was.  In the wee hours of the night, I had a nice chat with Santa while he warmed up with a cup of hot cocoa.  Then he was off on his journey again, and I drifted off  to sleep for a while.

Early in the morning, Pogo and I had a fun time opening our presents.  Oh my, between Santa, our friends, and our family, we were pleasantly spoiled.  Santa brought Pogo the steps he had asked for, and a huge fuzzy blanket.  Need I tell you that Pogo spent most of the day curled up on his new blanket?  I do believe he loves it!

I helped Pogo go up and down his new steps a few times, and he managed to go down them a couple times by himself.  But, it will take some time for him to get used to using them, especially going up them.

Here are a few more photos of Pogo with some of his wonderful presents.  I have more photos, but they are not all cropped yet.

Have you noticed the one constant in all of his photos?  Yup, the new blanket.  He did not go very far from it all day.  Pogo also got a roll of Blue Wilderness doggie food, (thank you Nani) and actually ate a plate of it for breakfast.  I did take a photo, but just as the camera clicked, Pogo turned his head.  Yup, a super photo of a blur.  That's my boy!!

Myself, I got so many wonderful things too, but I'll save that for tomorrow's post.  I just want to say thank you to everyone for all the wonderful gifts.  I am so blessed to have such awesome friends and family.  (Pogo is part of family)

Joe has been away with his family since Saturday, and just got home a little while ago.  After feeding Pogo his turkey treat, he was busy opening his Santa and friends gifts.  Right now, he is munching away on a piece of chocolate, and is enjoying it very much.  Kyra, Joe says thank you so much.  Last year, he shared a bit of his chocolate, but this year he is keeping it all for himself!  haha.

Now I have to go outside and feed my birdies and small critters.  It's cold out and they need the food to keep warm.  Gosh, they are so small, I just don't know how they manage to keep warm through the long cold winter.

I'm off now to make a hot cup of Nescafe Mocca (thank you Kyra).  I'll be back tomorrow with some more photos.  Christmas is still in the air around here.  Till then, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Merry Christmas Everyone

December 25, 2016

Good afternoon.  It's Christmas Day and Pogo and I are having a fabulous day.  My goodness, Santa and our family and friends were ever so good to Pogo and me.  I know you are all busy with your families but I wanted to wish you a Blessed and very Happy Christmas.  I'll be back tomorrow with lots of photos.

Y'all enjoy your day.

Hugs, Edna B.
