Good Bye 2008

December 31, 2008

Good Bye to 2008. Tonight we cheer in the new year, 2009. Tootsie, Moo and I wish you all a Wondrous New Year. May you be blessed with happiness, good health and prosperity. I want to say thank you to all the wonderful scrappers who have stopped by and given me the caring and support that I needed to get through a difficult, yet busy and learning year.

I am thankful for my family and all my wonderful scrap friends everywhere. I am also very thankful that Moo and Tootsie have made it through another year. This past year, I was blessed with two more great grandchildren. We almost have enough for a softball team, Papa. Wherever you are, may your soul rest in peace.

Now I will seriously have to think about what I would like or need to do in the upcoming new year. I have new programs to learn on my computer and more designing to do. I might even try to get in more exercise. Tootsie and I could certainly use a treadmill or an exercise bike. H-m-m-m. We'll see.

As for tonight, I am staying at home with Tootsie and Uncle Moo. We will share a nice dinner,
and toast in the new year together while we watch the ball drop in Times Square (on TV, of course!).

Before I leave today, I would like to share with you the infamous "ball" that has been trying ever so gracefully to expire. My Tootsie is very persistent, however, and will keep on breathing new life into it as long as she can. That means - new tape every few weeks or so. God bless her. Till tomorrow,

Hugs, Edna B.

Country Christmas - Part Two

December 30, 2008

The wind is howling something fierce outside my windows today. all day long, it's been blowing trash barrels and all sorts of junk out into the streets and into yards. Otherwise, it would probably be a fairly nice day, all things considered.

Yesterday, we had quite a scare at Magickal Scraps. The site was down, and no one knew why. Snow Raven spent a good portion of the day working with Su and the site management company. By late afternoon, it was mostly back to order. Whew!!! Talk about withdrawal. You miss things most when all of a sudden you don't have them anymore.

This afternoon we go back to the hospital, and Tootsie finishes up her treatments for this round. It feels good to say "no more for another 6 weeks!" I wonder what goes on in her mind. She handles this so well. Makes you wonder if we would do as well were we in her shoes. But then, I always knew she was special.

This afternoon, I will post the rest of "Country Christmas" for you. I hope you enjoy it. Now I have to move on and work on 2009. There is only a day and a half left of this year. I know I sound like a broken record, but where did it go? Here's hoping that 2009 will be a great year for all of us. Have a great day.

Hugs, Edna B.

"Country Christmas" Part One

December 29, 2008

What a gorgeous morning today. The sun is out, it's not too cold, and the traffic isn't so heavy.
That's good because Tootsie had to go for her chemo this morning when I got home. Of course, she had to wear her Christmas dress to show off for the doctors and technicians. One treatment down, three more to go, and then she's all set for another six weeks. Glory be.

I thought I would post early today in case I fizzle out later and go to bed early. Today, I'll be posting the papers for the "Country Christmas" kit. Tomorrow I'll put up the elements. There are so many beautiful Christmas kits out there, so I try to make mine just a little bit different. I'm hoping you like it.

Today, I need to make up a recipe layout for my January Recipe challenge so that I'll have everything ready for posting to the forum on Wednesday night. While you folks are partying and drinking the bubbly stuff, I'll be setting up my challenges. But that's okay for me. That's one night I'd much rather stay at home.

Is anybody going to try dieting for the New Year? If so, and you need some moral support, come to the Magickal Scraps forum. We have a challenge called "In The Kitchen" where you can get a lot of support. Either for taking off the pounds or putting some on. It's always more fun with friends.

Just in case any designers or would be designers would like a chance to have a store at our forum, here are Snow Raven's ads.

Now it's time for me to get work creating and maybe squeezing in a bit of housework. Have a great day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Another Christmas QP

December 28, 2008

Are all your New Year's Eve party plans set? Or are you staying at home? Tootsie and I will be staying at home with Uncle Moo. We can have a toast with our Samuel Adams, and watch the ball drop on our TV.

This morning I finished up the two Bonus kits for my January challenges at Magickal Scraps. Next I have to start making up some kits for the upcoming holidays and seasons. Busy, busy, busy. There is just no rest for the wicked. And I am very busy, so I must be very wicked.

If you liked yesterday's Christmas QP, I have another one for you today. Then tomorrow and Tuesday, I will post the Country Christmas kit. That will be it for 2008. Thursday, the new daily download kit starts at Magical Scraps. It's mega, and it's a beauty. Stop by the forum, and take a look at the January slideshow that Snow Raven put up.

Today, Uncle Moo is feeling much better, so he's cooking us dinner with the leftover Christmas ham. Then tonight is a work night again. So far, I have the New Year holiday off. That's a first. I have worked it every year since I can't remember when.

Now it's time to play with Tootsie for a while. Maybe even get in a small nap. Have a great night.

Hugs, Edna B.

Back To Work time

December 27, 2008

It's back to work time. Tonight I will try to finish up the January challenge posting rewards. I have all the papers done, now I have to work on the elements. Plus I need to make my own layouts for these two challenges.

Tootsie starts back to chemo this Monday and Tuesday. This six week thing is fantastic. It seems like such a long time between appointments. She has been so good lately. Must be the season. With her ratty old ball, even with all the tape on it, she is just as happy as a little pig in ****! Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could please everybody this easily?

I don't have very much to say today. It's very quiet here. Uncle Moo isn't feeling all too good today. Everybody seems a bit more mellow. Must be the big let down after all the excitement of the Holiday.

This week, I have the new Country Christmas kit for you. Tonight, I will give you one of the QP's from the kit. I hope you like it. Till tomorrow,

Hugs, Edna B.

'Tis The Day After Christmas.....

December 26, 2008

Did everyone have a wonderful Christmas Holiday? We did. Christmas Eve, Moo and Tootsie and I celebrated together and opened our gifts. We usually wait till Christmas morning, but this year I had to work on Christmas Day. I took a lot of photos of Tootsie and Moo playing with their new stuff, and I'll share one of them with you today.

My little girl had a grand time sniffing every package, every piece of wrapping, and then checking the contents of every package. She was such a delight to watch. I am so thankful to have had her all this time.

In the photo, she is checking the outfits that Auntie Audrey and Miss Bea sent her. She also got lots of treats, and a new blanket. I had already given in and taped her old ball together. This pleased her tremendously, and she was in great spirits for the Holiday. ( I had to post the photo at the end of the post because Blogger is up to it's old tricks of messing up my post. Sorry.)

I had a great time at work. My boss cooked a wonderful breakfast, and we all sat down together to enjoy it. She made us the most delicious pan omelet I have ever tasted. M-m-m-m-m!! Add this to all my other blessings, and I am one truly blessed lady.

Now that the rush and hoopla are over for a bit, I must settle down and finish up your Christmas kit. I hope to have it ready for you shortly. So now I'm off, got to check some of my favorite blogs, and make some more scraps. Have a great day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Open Mouth, Insert Foot!

December 24, 2008

Well, today I finally did it! Opened mouth and put in foot! I went to the nail salon, but could not park in the handcap spot because there was already a pickup truck parked there - and it had no handicap tags. I parked in another spot, and went inside.

A policeman was inside, talking to rather handsome young man. I waited politely until they finished talking, and then told the policeman about the truck that was parked in the handicap spot. The tall young man said "Oh dear, that's my truck. I didn't realize I was parked in the wrong place." I said "Shame on you, but you're forgiven this time, it's Christmas. Just don't do it again young man." He said he wouldn't. All this time, the pretty little blonde having her nails done was laughing up a storm.

As the policeman was leaving, I laughed and said to him "If you see him parked there again, give him a ticket." He replied, "Oh don't worry ma'am, I'll keep after him all day."

I chatted with this nice young man, while his wife (the pretty young blonde) was having her nails done. When it was my turn to be waited, the manicurist said to me "Did you know that he is a policeman too?" (meaning the handsome young man that I had scolded) This is where I felt the foot being inserted into my mouth.

To make matters worse, I noticed after a while, that he wasn't even in the handicap spot. There was no handicap spot. The city plows had dumped all the snow from that part of the parking lot on top of the only handicap spot. By this time, that foot that I stuck in my mouth was all the way down to my belly. I turned all shades of red, and apologized profusely to this handsome young policeman.

I'm back home now, and hopefully cannot get into any more trouble today. I have to wrap the gifts for all the little dwarfs, then I'll be done. Wrapping should be fun, they're all getting comforters this year. You all be good now, Santa's coming tonight.

Hugs, Edna B.
Merry Christmas Everybody.
