We're Running Out Of 2015

November 9, 2015

Good morning.  Tis a bit nippy this morning.  Only 44F degrees at the moment.  The sun is shining though, and the temps should reach the high 50's later today.  Can't complain though.  It is after all, Autumn.

Have you been looking at your calendar?  Hanukkah is only twenty seven days away, and Christmas is less than two weeks after that.  Thanksgiving is only seventeen days away.  Basically, this all means that the New Year is less than two months away.   Yeesh, time is slipping right by me.

I guess today I'll have to buckle down and start addressing the envelopes for my Christmas cards.  This usually takes me a few weeks because I only do a batch of them each day.  I also have to get serious about packing up my holiday boxes.  Even though I start early on this stuff, I'm usually scrambling to get everything done on time.

Last night, I  took a break from the neck warmers, and worked on a baby blanket.  I'd like to get at least one of these finished before Christmas.  One of the two new babies coming is due right around Thanksgiving, and the other is due in March.  It looks like I'm going to be busy for a while.

Speaking of time flying, Jazzy's drama group will be performing "A Christmas Carol" in less than two weeks.  Jazzy will be playing the ghost of Christmas Present.   Here's their poster for the upcoming event.  I'll be there at the Saturday afternoon performance taking lots of photos and videos.

I just had to take a small break and go outside with birdseed to fill the feeder.  My little birds were peeking in the window to let me know that the feeder was empty.  When I finish this post, I'll make up some more peanut butter bread and take that out to the treat holder.  In these cool temps, the little birds need lots of food.

I've been watching the Weather Channel, and the weather isn't looking so good around the country.  They've been showing videos of the flooding in Florida and other parts of the Southeast.  Do you suppose all these wicked new weather patterns will ever slow down?

I'm watching a video showing the new road paving that is being done in Atlanta, Georgia.  They are using bricks that soak up the water and let it pass  through into the ground.  Hmmm, is this a new idea?  Do any of you remember the cobblestone streets from way back when?  We had them when I was a little girl, but then progress came along and got rid of them.  Now progress seems to be wanting to bring them back.

My friend Beth sent me a birthday card featuring one of the Halloween QP's, and I'd like to share it.  What a beautiful card.  Thank you so much Beth.

Joe cut his finger a couple of weeks ago at work, and instead of going to the ER to have it looked at, he did it the "man" way.  His way.  Unfortunately, even though he did his best to keep it clean, it got very infected and he finally had to give in and go to a clinic to have it checked.  Now he is taking an antibiotic for the next ten days.  Guys, it's very manly to have your cuts and other boo boos checked when they happen.

Well that's my news for this morning.  Now I think I'll address a few envelopes and get started on my holiday boxes.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

Ironically I just watched a series on my tablet on a documentary that showed a segment of how our weather is being manipulated... so I don't think that our severe weather is ever going to slow down but in fact according to this documentary will rather increase.... scary thought. I must find something else to watch because some of this crap is scaring the beeegeees out of me.

Oh the town that I raised my kids in have a red brick road that is still there... I was always fascinated with cobblestone and brick roads. I think that they were and what is left standing is so beautiful. A true show of workmanship that has been taken for granted along with so many beautiful things of the past.

Now Edna, when you broke down the dates of Thanksgiving and Christmas I went... OMG... where did this year go? Wow... this means I have to get started right away on what I have not done. Not one gift bought. Not one thing done. At this rate we might have to skip Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas!

Oh Joe .... what can be said about man boo boo's? At least his is now being treated with antibiotics. Hope it heals soon. I am having my incision cultured as 2,000 mg of Kflex for 10 days has not healed my incision. I was going to the dr. today but cannot get an appointment until Thursday and I have a scheduled appt. for Friday so I will just wait it out if I can. They say just watch for fevers and keep it clean and dry. Ha! Not so easy to do....

I think that it is time for me to rest. I have been up for a long time already and I am feeling the effects of my meds... so have a fabulous day... Love Beth and bratty doggie Cisco.

We are all guilty of putting off things we should do. We are not having cold weather yet and do not look forward to it. Suzanne still not moved. Had many problems with people looking at their place. They hope to settle in the next few days tho.

such a beautiful page! would love to see the baby blankets when you're done. it's been chilly for here in the 60s but i'm so glad it's starting to feel like fall. I need to catch up my emails then start crafting for Christmas. time is really flying by quickly. Hope Joe's finger heals quickly!

Hi Edna, thank you so much for stopping by my blog a couple days ago..I really appreciate it and your suggestions and comments..wanted to let you know in answer to my parents..I wish I had an answer, I thought they would be going back to my sisters home in Illinois, Mom could have gone by medical transport, but that doesn't seem to be happening now..my sister is with them at their home for the time being..I don't really have an answer at this point..

I haven't done any Christmas shopping and it's starting to sneak up on us, isn't it? Pretty sure my Christmas cards will be New Address cards after we get moved to our new home, think I will wait and just send out new address cards after we get settled.. Our grandkids live near Sacramento, and like last year, I will need to ship gifts. So I better get started soon..our older son lives about 50 miles from us now so we will be getting together with him and his girlfriend during the holidays..but it's those little ones who have me scratching my head..they need clothes, but also some fun things to open..

Thank you for feeding the birds! before we sold our house, we had hummingbird feeders and regular bird feeders, will have those again in our new place..

I will visit again and frequently, sending hugs across the miles..

Yes, I know time flies and so I am happy I almost did all the Christmasshopping and wrapping, but now reading the actual days that are left over for this year I only can say : GOSH! It really goes quicker and quicker and we will be decorating for Christmas very soon.
Oh Joe, what did you do?? LOL!
Glad he finally got to the ER and is now on antibiotics, and that will help hopefully to heal his finger. It must have been a severe cut though!
Weather here is a bit less nice, temps are still good, but we will have some more rain and more wind. That wind makes it the most annoying outside. Oh well, we still shouldn;t complain too much.
Looking forward to the photos of the Christmas Carol and Jasmine.

Think I will stay indoors today, but as you know, ideas alsways can change, hahaha.
Have a lovely day.
