Gosh, I'm Not Used To This Much Sleep (At Night) All At Once

November 25, 2015

Good morning.  It's only 6 a.m., so it's still quite dark outside.  I put the light out really early last evening, and got a whole night of sleep.  That hasn't happened in a long time.   Hmmm, I could get used to this.

It's rather nippy this morning.  Only 29F degrees, with a high of 42 degrees expected later today.  If I didn't know any better, I'd think that Winter is slipping in rather quickly.  Blogger doesn't seem to like the cold either because it is acting sort of weird.

I got up to get Pogo's breakfast, and my page here was all faded out and not working.  I clicked out of it and re-opened it, and it was still here, but the words have moved around.  After a bit of finagling, I've got everything back where it belongs.

Yesterday afternoon, I had such fun playing on my laptop, making new Christmas QP's.  Before I knew it, the afternoon had passed by and it was supper time.  Time flies when you are having fun.  So, the next four weeks I'll be posting Christmas QP's.  Warning, I may have to post more than one sometimes, because making them gets addicting.

Also, next Tuesday is the start of the Worldwide Christmas Scrapbooking Blog Train.  I'll be posting a freebie for you, along with lots of other scrap designers.  Make room on your hard drive so that you can download all these wonderful freebies.  I'll post more information next Tuesday.

Today, I have a fun QP for you.  Notice Lola, and her new friend, Ms. Butterfly?  I love whimsy, and I hope you can use this .  Enjoy.

Here is your download link:

I found this poster on the web, and thought I'd like to share it with you.  It's message is really wonderful.  We don't need a reason to help someone, but if you do, then use this wonderful season of love and giving as your reason.
There are so many ways to help a stranger.  When you are checking out at a fast food or coffee chain, pay for the order ahead or behind you.  Notice if someone is sitting outside a market or store just trying to stay warm.  Visit a nursing facility and visit with a few of the old folks.  I'm sure you can think of so many ways to help someone.

I have a proposition for you.  If you send me your story (and name and address) of something you've done to help someone needy, I'll make you a neck warmer.  Just be sure to include your favorite color.  If I can post your story, let me know.  No names will be used.  Happy Giving!!

Tomorrow's post may be short, but I'll be here to wish all of you a fabulous Thanksgiving Day.  Now I think I'll make me another cup of coffee (this is a two cup morning), and see if I can't make some more headway with my wrapping.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I guess yesterday was the night for sleeping! I transferred ver to my recliner right after David got home and slept pretty much right after I reclined back. Thanks for reminding me that I need to get my preview turned in for Christmas Around The World! :)

I like the poster! I like the pay-it-forward concept. I know over the years I've paid plenty and plenty has been paid back to me. The world really does work the best when people help people regardless of anything. Of course if everybody was like that, we wouldn't even need governments. -sigh-

A couple of notes from yesterday, because I retired fir the day before I finished writing a comment. Your Christmas cactus is beautiful and I'jealous - I never had that much luck whenI tried to grow one! You can make soup foir the soup-dwarf with the leftover turkey? ;) Or maybe just use the part with the bullet in it to make the soup! The store freezers will cut it into good soup meat pieces when you shoot it! hehehe

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
Hugs, Nani

Hi Edna,

The one thing that I wanted to comment on yesterday and I am not sure that I did was that I loved the photo's of Jazzy in the play... What a beautiful girl she is. She will go far, I just know it. I haven't had the chance to go to facebook and see the video's. Oh Gosh I haven't had the chance to do much of anything at present.

I love the neck warmer idea... I love the Christmas Cactus as well. I had one that bloomed the pink that you have. Odd that it turned out to be pink because the plant that I got the starter from was red. Or at least I remember it being red.

I am already for my grandson when he gets here tomorrow. I baby proofed my bedroom and bathroom so IF he gets in here with no one seeing him, he cannot get to any of my medicines and things that can hurt him. He use to be so easy... Just shut the door... Not anymore. He now knows how to Open the doors!

I will get with you soon and hopefully chat a little. I still have to get started on a few things. I posted my recipe for Southern Cornbread dressing on my blog today if your interested. Hugs from me and Cisco. He is rather put out with me at the moment. He wants a treat. A hot dog... But I refused and gave him a cheesy cracker since hot dogs upsets his tummy... but that look... those brown eyes... lets me know what he is thinking of me at this time lol.... Hugs and licks from Cisco... and Hugs to you from me...

Happy Thanksgiving! thanks for the beautiful qp! How nice of an offer. My hubby and I always try to help people, but this year, financially we're unable too. My husband got hurt at work last December and went on workman's comp in January, unforutantely his claim was denied, and our lawyer is fighting to have his case opened, so we've had no income since last January. We ran thru everything we had by May, and our families have been helping us, just to keep the lights and internet on. Our case kept getting postponed, but he finally see's a doctor paid by the workman's comp insurance company December 09,th and hopefully there after we'll start receiving payments while he receives treatment. plus if they pay him his back pay from last January, we'll be able to pay our family back, and we'll be happy to pay it forward. If people do ask for help I do use our foodstamps to buy them a meal, but that's all we have right now to offer. it's been a rough year, and we're praying 2016 will be better. Once he receives treatment and can return to work it will be even better. I am especially thankful to still have a roof over our head and food on the table, so we still have it tons better than lots of other folk out there. I hope you get to enjoy your chinese take-out and Joe's turkey dinner!

What a wonderful news, that you slept a whole night through!
We had some rain yesterday, today, as well, although I see some blue sky peeping in, so may be we even will get a bit of sunshine.
Lovely idea you have, of making a neckwarmer for a good story of kindness.
and oh, there is still hope for the world, because there are still people doing something nice for somebody else, but it is such a shame that not all think the same.
It is addicting, making kits and/or QP's for Christmas, yes. I have enough made for the whole of December to post, but couldn;t help to start another Christmaskit. Oh well, perhaps I will have to post more in December, but first I will have to finish now the kit I am working on.
Before doing that, I must do a few things like laundry and vacuum cleaning, you know.
You have a lovely day and hopefully you will have another night of sleeping through today!
Hug

You were talking about eating Chinese food. Yum! What is your favorite dish? I just had some sweet and sour shrimp but my all-time favorite is shrimp egg foo young. I don't get to eat it too often my husband is not a fan plus it has so much high salt content and he has high blood pressure. I tried to do a kindness for people when I see those in need. We have housed several friends of our children because they lost their place to live etc. and we've done that since the kids were in high school. But just recently I was getting out of my car at the grocery store and it was so bitter cold and the wind was whipping and a lady walked up crying that she was trying to buy diapers and formula for her grandbabies. She told me she was a cancer survivor. I knew she wasn't telling me detailed because I could see by her chest she still had that port patch. I'm not a doctor so I don't know all the technical terms but I've been around enough people that have dealt with serious injuries surgeries etc. that I know when someone is telling me a tail or not. Anyway I did help her out and felt really bad Lee. I think today there are so many young people that just dumped their children and go about their lives doing drugs and alcohol and whatever else gives them a thrill. A lot of elderly people always raise their grandchildren are great grandchildren. It's a very sad world we live in but I'm glad a lot of people can help their loved ones. I love to go to a drive through like Starbucks and pay for the car behind me it just gives a person a good feeling. I wish I could do more I wish every day I could go out and help people that are less fortunate than me. This was a very thoughtful post Edna and I thank you for sharing it hugs and happy Monday to you
