Pogo's New Door & A Bundle Of Sunshine

September 29, 2014

Good morning.  We are in for another gorgeous day here in my little part of the world.  This morning, it is 63F degrees and soon the temp will be up to 79F.  Oh, I just love it!!!   After today, we are in for a week of low to mid 60's and lots of rain showers.  At least, that's what the weather man predicts.

Well, where do I start?  Saturday, Home Depot delivered my new storm door around 6 p.m.  The nice man even brought it into the house for us and set it up in the front hallway.  Yesterday afternoon, Eddie and Kevin came by to install the beautiful new door.  And it IS a beauty!!   Here's a shot of Eddie and Kevin working on the door.

The door looks rather ordinary, but it isn't.  The whole door is screened, and there are two glass panels, each of which can be moved up and down.  This way, I can move the bottom glass panel up a bit and Pogo can watch everything that's happening outside while enjoying the fresh air.  As you can see, he has his little blanket set up by the door and is enjoying the sights.

We have a large wooden chair in our yard, way over under the trees, and some of the dwarfs enjoy sitting there once in a while with a cup of coffee and a newspaper.  I'll have to take a photo of the chair.  Well anyway, early yesterday morning Joe noticed that we had a visitor who was all curled up and napping on the big chair.  Our visitor stayed like that all day.

When Eddie and Kevin arrived, the visitor came over to make friends with Kevin.  And such a beautiful visitor this was!!  Dwarf Helen and a couple of the guys came out to sit on the front steps and our visitor was soon purring with delight and making new friends with them.

Our visitor was a very beautiful young kitty.  When I went out to pat the kitty, I was horrified that my hands landed on and in between bones!!!!!  This beautiful baby was starving.  One of the guys got it a bowl of water, while another brought out a can of tuna.   Kitty couldn't gulp the food down fast enough.

Needless to say, there was no way we were going to leave this little one outside to fend for itself.  Besides, she wanted to adopt us.  How could we say no?  The dwarfs decided to name her "Sunshine" because she was like a ray of beautiful sunshine.  After shopping for a few kitty necessities, Dwarf Helen gave Sunshine a bath and set her up with a brand new bed, kitty litter box, food and water.

What do you think?  Isn't she beautiful?  How could anyone leave this little one to starve to death?  Pogo and Sunshine have met and sniffed each other, and are working on becoming good friends.  Things are going to get a bit more interesting around here soon.

Well that's my news for this morning.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Pogo is just so tiny and cute. Our little Miss Izzy has decided that she wants up on the sofa again. It has been a couple of years that she has jumped up on the sofa. Well twice already this morning, I have found her there. Not sure how she managed it because I didn't see her. The problem is that she has problems with her bladder. I am hoping no accidents.
That kitty is just beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen a cat marked like that. Looks a little like a Siamese but the red tones are really different. Will she be living with you or one of the dwarfs.
No I couldn't turn her away.

You brought tears to my eyes, Edna ... she is beautiful and you are her blessing. What a sweet little girl. I know she and Pogo will soon be friends.

Izzi and I had an agility trial this weekend so we have been out of sight, out of mind. We did well and both Izzi and I enjoy the friends we have at agility.

Very little else is happening. My FH and I spent the week trying to clear the yard ... cutting down two trees that died over last winter and dragging the branches out to the driveway. We now have to cut them up into managable pieces and dispose of them. This week we will finish trimming the bushes and then all I will have to do is clear out my gardens when the time comes ... and of course rake leaves. Yes, the leaves are starting to fall, slowly for the moment, but it won't be long and we will be burried ... ugh! I love fall and we are having some beautiful fall weather, but I don't like raking leaves or burning them. I still have leaves from last year that haven't been burned yet:) Sad but true. It rained so much over the summer that whenever I had a chance to burn they were soaking wet ... I know sounds like an excuse, but it is true:p

I love that Pogo has a screen he can look out now. We don't have screen doors and it is probably better that way because Izzi would be barking all day at the squirrels. We go outside a lot with her and when we do the squirrels scatter, so there is very little barking to be done. Sounds like life is taking another wonderful turn for you ... I love Sunshine and now I have two little critters in your house to love ... Izzi sends her love to Pogo ...

The new door option is lovely for Pogo and his new little sister.
She is a beautiful cat and I'll bet once the strangeness is done you find Sunshine and Pogo snuggling and becoming best friends.
Enjoy that new kitty and I can't wait to see more photos!

Pogo is really enjoying the fact he can look through the door now.
Life will become a lot more interesting for him, the more he has a new friend now.
What a beauty, this little Sunshine!!
You sometimes wonder how pets get astray or are left behind.
I am sure the kitty will have a loving home now, no, you couldn;t let her outside, all starving.
So another member to the family there is.!
Come here and i give you a big kiss for your good deed!
Hugs

Hi Edna, I had to look at the new addition to your family! Our Snicker Kitty was an Apricot Siamese and had the same coloring. Your Sunshine must be a cross with the Apricot Siamese and an Angora with all that fluffy tail. I'll send you photos so you can see the similarity. All of us should have a heart like yours! BTW will you tell me how we can have the same camera, lens and your photos are so much sharper than mine!

Mary Ann, you are too kind too me!! Your photos are awesome. I have to credit you with whatever I've learned about taking some good photos.

Now it's time to get busy and type a new post before the morning is gone. You have a fabulous day my friend, hugs, Edna B.
