Enjoy This Gorgeous Last Day Of Summer

September 21, 2014

Good morning.  It's still a bit cloudy, but the sun is definitely planning on shining down on us today.  Sometime during the night, some winds went through our area, and this morning the ground is littered with leaves.  Summer is gently saying "farewell".

Today is supposed to be quite nice, 75F degrees with a chance of scattered thunder storms.  The nice thing is that I was able to open our door an hour ago to let in the fresh morning air.  Except for one cool day, this whole week is supposed to be really nice.

Yesterday, DIL Janet came by for some help getting her new phone activated and set up.  Well, that was sort of a fiasco.  She was here for several hours attempting to just get this phone activated, but we kept running into all sorts of snags.  Several hours and phone calls later, she took the phone home with her, deciding to leave it till today to try again.

Why is it that some things are so easy to turn on and set up, while others are just so darned ornery?  If it were my phone, I'd have probably given it the hammer treatment.  I know, it's sad when a little thing like a cell phone can turn an adult into a raving nutcase.  This is why I turn to someone else to do these sort of things for me.

Yesterday, I took some photos of the two new afghans I'm working on.  I've been using the same chevron pattern on all of my afghans, but I've been changing the stitch pattern on some of them.  (single crochet vs half double crochet, etc.)   This way I don't get bored.  The first photo shows the Country Blue afghan, and the second photo shows the Frosty Green afghan.  Pretty, yes?

We used to have an A.C. Moore store nearby, but it closed.  I miss this store because it had a fantabulous selection of yarns.  I've located another of their stores a few towns over that was having a huge sale on yarns.  I thought Janet and I might check it out, however yesterday was the last day of the sale so we did not bother.  I'll have to keep a watch for their next yarn sale.

Well, that's about all that's happening here.  It's time for me to rustle up something tasty for breakfast.  Hmmm, maybe some scrambled eggs with green peppers?   I haven't had these for a while.  So, on that note I'll leave you.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

The green and blue is just lovely. I may have to take up crocheting...perhaps just doing some baby blankets to give away or something.

I think the name for these contraptions should be "smart aleck" phones because they definitely get the best of me. It's like they're smarter and they know it. Thank goodness for grandkids that can help you out.

I hope this weekend has been nice, we've been enjoying some nice weather these last couple of days - in the low 80's right now but with enough of a breeze it feels good.

Oh cell phones are my nemesis. I can't make a move without screwing something up. Having my son around has been a boon to my tech know how. He shows me once and then twice and maybe by the third time I will get it. Generally, though, I just say "Fix it, please!".

He put me on T-mobile before I went to Switzerland and I was able to call home regularly with no additional charges, where as my friend ended up with a $1000 cell phone bill even though she turned her data off when she wasn't using the phone. We were warned that might happen, but we thought we had taken care of it ... WRONG! Like I said, thank goodness for my son :)

I love your afghans ... blues and greens are my favorite colors. I think it would be cool for you to combine your blues and greens into one afghan ... just sayin' :)

I was all set to do MOM this morning and she has taken a two week break ... can't complain because I just did the same thing, but I was left with nothing to post today ... not such a bad deal. Maybe I can take a break now and then just because. I am still working on my pictures ... hoping I will be able to post some of them this week. There are soooooooo many, oh my! Well, it is late in the day and I have to put dinner on the table. It has started getting dark early, so it makes it seem later than it is. But, my stomach tells me it is time to eat :) Loves to little Pogo ... see you tomorrow, Edna :)

That's the trouble with all the new things we have to deal with.
They say, it becomes all easier to set up, like a phone, but I find them trickier every time LOL.
Your afghans look great!
I finally do have to read in the photo cd to be able to post some photos.
It's not hard, but to start...............
Perhaps today it will happen.
also have tochange a cartrigde on my printer so I can print out again whatever I might need.
Have a wonderful day, without any trouble of apparatus that don't work suddenly.
Hug
