Good morning. It's cloudy, and the weatherman says it's only 68 F at the moment working towards 78F. However, it feels like 80F and sticky! At least in the house. Or maybe it's just me. You know about "hot flashes", well I think I'm having the "over 70 flashes". Gosh, no one ever told me about these. I'd better enjoy the weather though, because tomorrow the "heat" will be back. Goodie, goodie.
I have a lot to do today, but I'm going to stop around 2 p.m. and have a little nap before going back to work tonight. Right now, the laundry is in the washer. Next, I'll do a little dance with the vacuum cleaner, maybe fill a bag or two for the dumpster, and that will be it for today.
They have been advertising a cool new book "Great Kitchen Secrets". It's only $10 and if you order it today, you will also get another book with it for free. However when you call for the book, you learn that the second book isn't really free. You have to pay separate S&H for it. I would have ordered the book, but now I will wait for it to get to the stores.
On the plus side, there is a really cool Geico ad on TV that I really do enjoy. It's the one that shows the camel walking through the office asking everyone "what day is it?" Finally, one girl tells him that it is "hump day" and he is quite happy with himself. It's so silly, but absolutely adorable, and always manages to put a smile on my face.
When I got home yesterday from work, there was a little bunny in the grass feasting away on the grass. He didn't even mind me taking his photo. Poor little guy must have been really hungry. This first photo was taken through the car's windshield. I got out of the car to take the second photo. Isn't he cute?
I also have more beautiful layouts to share that Kyra has made for me. This one features a gorgeous blue jay. There's nothing prettier than watching the blue jays and the cardinals feeding in the snow. Kyra, this is just beautiful. Thank you my friend.
If you're wanting to see more of Kyra's beautiful work, just click on her name here and it will take you right to her blog. While you're there, don't forget to check out some of the wonderful freebie kits and clusters that she and Arlene offer. You'll be delighted.
Now it's time for me to get busy here. Till tomorrow, Y'all be safe, and have a fabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Sleeping With An Elephant
July 12, 2013
I'm writing this post late Thursday night because I doubt if the internet is back on yet at work, and I have to be at work early in the morning. I surely do miss it when I don't have it.
Pogo and I went to sleep early tonight, but a loud noise woke us up a little while ago. When this is posted, we are going to crawl right back under the covers again. I doubt if I accomplished a lot today, but I certainly was busy all day.
I'm watching a commercial on TV about "Spiriva". This poor guy is laying down on the sofa having a hard time breathing, and his pet elephant is sitting on top of him. Someone needs to tell him that he should buy a nice cozy bed with a fuzzy blanket for his elephant. This way, they could both be comfortable, and the man would be able to breathe better. Jeepers, that didn't take too many brains to figure out!
I have a few photos to share of my lilies. Every other day or two, there's a new bloom in the garden. I just love it.
This morning, the dumpster that I had ordered was delivered, and we've already started filling it. We only have the dumpster for a couple of weeks, so it's going to busy for a while. Plus, I need to see if Pogo's doctor can fit him in tomorrow after work. It's time for his rabies shot. We had an appointment a couple of days ago, but with all the hubbub around here we had to cancel. Sometimes life just does not cooperate.
Well, now it's time for us to hop back into bed. 5 a.m. comes quickly on Friday morning. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Here Comes The Rain Again
July 11, 2013
Oh my, the heavens are noisy this morning. Some of the promised rain has started to fall, and I'm sure there will be lots more of it before too long. I ordered a dumpster to be delivered this morning and it should be here soon. Then I can start playing "toss out". It's going to be a busy week ahead getting the whole house ready for pest control to do their job. Gosh, I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
This will be a short post because I really have lots to do here. But I do have a couple more layouts to share with you. Kyra made these for me and they are really beautiful. I'm going to have the best looking scrapbook around! The first layout features my granddaughter Jasmine, and the second one shows Audrey when she was receiving an award at the Taxidermy Conference.
I have been calling to get coverage at work for tomorrow so that I can have the day off, but so far I'm not having any luck. So I guess I'll be working tomorrow. Now I'm going to rustle up some lunch for Pogo, and then it's time for Bonzo here to get busy. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

July 10, 2013
Good afternoon. We are back to the very warm and still sticky temps. Not very much fun, specially today. I had a critter inspector come out today because I believed we might be having a problem. Well, we do. Absolutely, definitely not any fun at all. That's all I'll say about that for now.
I've been hot, tired and cranky all morning. However, my friend Kyra sent me an email that really brightened up my day. In it was another fabulous scrapbook layout. This one featured me getting big hugs from a very large fuzzy bear. I just can't resist these big fuzzy animals. Kyra, thank you so much.
There's not much news for today. I do have to call Pogo's doctor and reschedule his appointment that was for this morning to another day. Then I need to get back to my "toss or save" project. I've started weeding out some of my things. I have too much stuff that I don't use any more. It's hard to part with some of it, but necessary.
I already have a nice big stack of computer and photoshop books to be taken to the Salvation Army store. Next, I'll start thinning out the clothes that I've been saving forever. I used to be under the delusion that I would someday fit back into most of these clothes. However, I have discovered that this will not be happening in this lifetime. Boo Hoo.
Now I am going to make some lunch for myself and Pogo, then get busy here. Till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Ahhhh, A Break From The Heat!
July 9. 2013
Good morning. It's a bit cloudy, but then it's early yet. Only 6:45 a.m. The temperature is in the upper 60's, headed for the upper 70's. It feels good for a change. Today we are supposed to be getting more thunder storms. Actually, I think it's supposed to be like this for a few days.
Today, I need to get friendly with the vacuum cleaner and chase a few dust bunnies out. Then I have a whole stack of magazines and catalogues to go through before recycling them. Later, if I have any steam left, I want to set up a new "bills & receipts" folder. That should take care of any energy that I have for today.
For those of you who like bugs, I have some insect photos to share. I took these a few days ago at work. In the second photo, you can't see the bee's head, but it's a nice shot of the wings.
Later today, I also need to start thinking about making my next blog book. Depending on how many pages it comes out to be, I may have to break it into three volumes for this year. I think I'll change the photo on the front cover too. Hmmm, lots to keep me busy here.
During the night, I had to shut off the ceiling fan and the little fan on the floor. My little Pogo was in his bed, hiding under his fuzzy blanket. I also put his little tank top back on him. Naked is nice, but I don't want him catching a cold.
I have another gorgeous layout to share. This is another one that Kyra made for me. I'm going to be putting them all into a special scrapbook. She has captured so many beautiful moments for me. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Kyra. Isn't this just so special?
Well, now I must finish drinking my coffee and get started on a few chores here. I have quite a lot to do today, and I'll feel good if I can get most of it done. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Some Guys Look So Darn Good Naked!
July 8, 2013
Of course, you know I mean my little Pogo. I have a small fan on the floor blowing cool air towards his little bed, and he's enjoying the breeze on his glorious nakedness. All the best comforts for my little guy.
Good morning from sticky Massachusetts. Today will be a little bit cooler (mid 80's), but the stickies will still be here. Sad to say, we wait so long for summer and the good weather to get here, and when it finally arrives it is too hot and sticky to enjoy. What's the old saying? "You can't win for losing"?
I have a cute photo to share this morning. Yesterday, on my way home from work, I passed a large group of Momma Turkeys out for a stroll with all their young ones. Of course, I pulled over to take some photos. Here's one of the Mommas with her three little ones. Aren't they just the cutest?
I also have a couple of photos of the Swan family to share. Dee Dee took these photos with her phone. Sad to say, there is only one baby left, but it sure is a cutie.
This morning, after I've enjoyed my cup of coffee, I shall have to call Virgin Mobil to complain again about why I cannot use my broadband stick. When you pay money for more time, it only lasts for 30 days whether you use it or not. I don't mind that, but I do mind it when I am not able to use it.
If I don't get the issue resolved, I will ask for my money back, and then shop around for another type of internet to go. Hot spots are of no use when you live or work in the country. All the hot spots are usually located near shopping areas or food places.
I have bouts of withdrawal when I cannot use the internet on my laptop. I'm even tempted to offer to pay the bill for the folks next door (at work) so that they can get their service turned back on. Of course, I won't do that. I'm not supposed to know why it isn't working. Ah well, I'll survive.
Now I want to take a walk around the yard to see if there are any new blossoms. Plus, I have to check on the trap that we had to set up again. There is a big woodchuck out here, and he's been dining on my flowers. This just will not do!
Enough of my blabbing. I hope the weather is good where ever you are. Till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Sassy Takes Up Surfing
July 7, 2013
Good morning. Well, Google did it again. I just spent about 45 minutes typing my morning post and Google zapped it off to never never land. At no point in all the time that I was typing, did any of it get saved. I'm really beginning to dislike Google with a big CAPITAL "H"!
I'm watching news of the plane crash that happened in San Francisco yesterday. There were more than 20 fatalities and almost 200 injured. Also yesterday, a runaway train carrying crude oil derailed in Quebec, leaving one person dead. The bad news goes on and on.
On the brighter side of the news, a solar powered plane left California in May, travelling at a top speed of 45 mph. It made several stops before reaching New York this morning. Folks, this is a peak into the future of travel.
Our weather is still hot, hot, hot. Steamy, sizzling and sticky. Yesterday morning, the weatherman said that the humidity was 97%. Gosh, does it get stickier than that? I'm thankful that the temperature isn't 100 and over, but the low 80's will feel really super when they come around again.
I have a cute photo to share with you. Dee took this photo with her phone yesterday and sent it on to me. It seems that her Sassy Girl has found a great way to beat the heat. She has taken up "Pool Surfing". Way to go, Sassy!

Yesterday, I spent a few hours playing on my laptop. Some time ago, I downloaded a graphic from my daughter's facebook page. Then I looked it up on the web to find the author, but was not very successful. I did find other versions of the same graphic called "Visiting Hours In Heaven.
I removed the couple and the bench from the web graphic and placed it into one of my own cloud photos. Then I added a little dog silhouette on the bench beside the people. I recolored the people, dog and bench, then placed a texture overlay over the whole new picture. ("Creme Anglaise" by Fly Paper Textures) Next I applied the Hard Light blending mode (PS) at 67%, then a color overlay at 39%. So here is my version of "Visiting Hours In Heaven".
I enjoyed working on this piece of photo art. It gives one a lot to think about. I wonder who these folks and their little dog are waiting for. If given a chance, would you visit someone in Heaven? And who would it be?
Now I have a small load of laundry to do before I can take my nap. Tonight is another work night for this lady. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.
