Me? A Teletubby?

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in my little part of the world.  I'm at work so this won't be a very long post.  Mrs will be awake soon and calling for breakfast. 

Last night, Tootsie and I curled up in bed early and watched our favorite TV show, Project Runway.  This is the "All Star" series, and last night was the first half of the finals.  After this is done, I will have to wait till summer for the new season of Project Runway.  Yikes, it will be like having "fashion withdrawal" until summer gets here. 

One would never guess that I love fashion design, as my staple clothes are jeans and tee shirts.  But I still remember the days when I was thin and dressed quite ladylike and fashionable.  My favorite clothes were wrap around dresses and jumpsuits.  If I were to wear a jumpsuit now, I would be mistaken for a Teletubby.  Needless to say, I do not wear jumpsuits anymore.

Today I have a couple more photos of the hibiscus in Florida.  I have some planted in my yard, and I'm hoping they survived the winter and will bloom again this year. 

Now it's time for me to get busy here.  I can hear the Mrs beginning to waken.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Extra Post - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTSIE

Today is Tootsie's birthday, and she is nine years old.  There aren't enough words to describe the joy and happiness that this little girl has given me all these years.  This morning we had to go see her doctor because her left eye is just not looking so good. 

The news was not what we were hoping for.  We were hoping Tootsie would be put on antibiotics for a while and the eye would be okay.  Unfortunately, that's not the news we received.  There is a mass behind her eye and it is stressing the eye and pushing it out of the socket. 

To do the required tests and possibly surgery would be very stressful, painful and of no help to my little girl.  She's been through a lot, and things are slowly shutting down.  It's basically a matter of time.  We wait, we watch, and we enjoy every moment we have. 

Tonight we are having roast chicken for supper.  This is Tootsie's very favorite food.  But first, we will be leaving shortly to go raise some hell at the cable company's office. 

Here is a photo of my little girl getting a bit of fresh air out in the yard, and next is my very favorite photo of her taken a few years ago.  She is one very special beautiful little kid.

Now we're off to enjoy our day together.  Folks, if you have a pet give it an extra love today.  Your pet is truly a gift.   Have a fabulous day.

It's Tax Time Again!

This morning is starting off on the gray side, but the weatherman says the sun will be coming out for the better part of the day.  We shall have to wait and see.

I'll have to call Tootsie's doctor this morning because I'm concerned about Tootsie's eye.  When she was last groomed, the groomer nicked her eyebrow and her eye.  Up to now, it has looked as though it was healing, but last night and this morning it does not look so good anymore.  Gosh, what else does my little girl have to go through? 

Last night, Janet was here, and got started on sorting through my tax stuff.  Thank goodness for her because I literally get sick just thinking about doing the tax stuff myself.  Don't ask me why, I've always been this way. 

This afternoon, I will have to pay a visit to the local cable office and find out why my bill has been skyrocketing.  At their current rates, I don't think we are going to be keeping cable much longer.  It's just being priced right out of reality. 

For today's photos, I have a couple more shots of one of Florida's gorgeous bottle brush trees.  I just looked them up on google search and found that they are part of the evergreen family.

Folks, in case you've been checking Su's blog for parts to our collab kit, please be patient.  Su has not been well lately and has been in the hospital.  Do join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.  Get well soon, Su.  We're missing your beautiful smile.

A Good Day For Watching TV

Good morning.  It's a bit gray and damp outside this morning, but the  temperature should be around 61 today.  Later today, we'll have to turn the heat back on because the cooler temps will be back for a few days.  Next week though, the 70+ temps will be back.

Last night was a good night back at work.  The Mrs was in a very good mood, lucky me!  I guess that old saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" actually does work.  She was all tucked into bed by 10:30, leaving me a little time to play on my laptop. 

When I got to work last night, there were two very bright stars in the sky above.  Of course, I had to try to get a photograph.  Here's what I managed to capture.

I don't know if the background is just noise because of a high ISO (1600) or if it's just some of the millions of tiny stars that are up there.  Either way, I find it pretty interesting.  For my friend Mary Ann, even though this is hand held, I did have to lean against my car in order to get something more  than a squiggle.

I also have a different kind of photo to share with you.  One of the foods that both Audrey and I love is asparagus.  One night while in Florida, we pigged out on a huge plate of this yummy veggie.

Right now, I'm watching a TV program called "Geological Journey".   It shows scientists studying fossils that are more than half a billion years old, and a huge area filled with dinosaur fossils in New Brunswick.  It's also showing how the Atlantic Ocean came to be.  I find all of this absolutely fascinating. 

Next up is a program that studies our planets.  I guess today will be a TV day.  After a bit of a nap, of course.  Now it's time to tend to Tootsie's meds.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY EDDIE

Good morning.  It's a bit gray and damp here this morning, but it's still warm outside.  Yesterday was a humdinger of a day.  It was simply perfect!  According to the weather station, this has been the fourth warmest winter on record. 

After the morning fiasco with Verizon, the rest of the day was pretty good.  One of the dwarfs joined Tootsie and me when we went shopping for a birthday present for Eddie.  Yesterday was his birthday.  So Happy Birthday Eddie, and may you enjoy many more.  We delivered the gift and visited for a while before coming back home. 

Today I will do a load of laundry and get that caught up. Tonight is "Back to Work" time for me.  The vacation is definitely over now.  The woman who has been covering my shifts at work called me last night to make sure I'm coming back.  When I told her I'd be there tonight as planned, she couldn't thank me enough.  I guess the Mrs has been giving her a rough time. 

I have a few assorted photos to share today.  The first one shows a plane flying overhead just inside the clouds.  I thought it made for an interesting photo. 

This next photo is another of our cute little critters (in Florida).  Much to Audrey's delight, these little fellows were everywhere.  The last photo is another one of the pretty shrubs that Tootsie and I encountered on our walks.

Now I think it's time to get dressed and start the laundry.  Better yet, maybe Tootsie and I will have us some brunch first.  That sounds even better.  On that note I'll take my leave.  Y'all have a wonderful day.

Monday's Post #2

Grab a cup of coffee and get comfy.  This is not going to be a short post.  Nothing in my life ever seems to go smoothly.  Just as the cable man is supposed to show up, Tootsie has developed a case of the squirts, and was sitting on a scatter rug when it happened. 

So okay, we got that and her all cleaned up and while I'm putting the scatter rug in the washer, Tootsie has decided that it's a good time to pee on all the other scatter rugs.  My coffee is now cold, and I have an armful of wet rugs, and there's a knock on my door.  Yup, you guessed it!  The cable man is here.  I feel an Excedrin headache # 272 coming on!

The Verizon cable man looked everything over inside, outside and downstairs in the basement, and said "Wow, there's lot of work here and it's going to take close to twelve hours to get it done. I'm going to have to call for help with this."  Because of the layout of the house and cellar, and the fact that I have a cable running to a TV out in the den in the main part of the house, a routine job has become a monster job. 

I was just about resigned to not having any cable before sometime  tomorrow, when I thought to ask the man about my email address.  Would it just switch over from Comcast to Verizon?  Or was that going to be a major problem too?  My answer was "Once we get everything finished, you can open a new email account with Verizon and hopefully your email name will be available.  As long as no one else is using that name, you will be able to have it." 

Are these folks nuts?  This is my email name and I want to keep it.  As it is, I was going to lose all my programs that I had recorded to my DVR and haven't been able to watch yet.  Losing my email name was not an option.  It ended up that I cancelled today's work and rescheduled for two weeks from now.  Hopefully, I can get the email issue resolved by then.

Last night I was up till the wee hours of the morning trying to tape some of the programs on my DVR to DVD disks for Audrey before they were no longer there.  I didn't have time to copy them all to disk, so I had to decide which ones she would want more than others.  In the end, I managed to copy my two favorite programs for her.  Of course, with this new situation, I will now be able to copy the rest of the programs for her. 

Are we having fun yet?  Enough for my woes.  Now I will post my preview and Parts 3 & 4 of our March collab kit "Sing A Song Of Spring".

Miss Su has been in the hospital, so she will be posting her two parts on her blog tomorrow.  Su, I hope you're feeling better now and on the road to a speedy recovery.

Just before I sat down to type this post, I looked out my door window, and saw a most unusual sight.  The traffic was being led very slowly by a police cruiser with it's blue lights flashing.  This was followed by a horse drawn funeral carriage.  The horse was white, and the driver was dressed in "Sherlock Holmes" type clothes.  (Including the hat, cape and cane!)  The carriage had all glass sides which were covered on the inside by white curtains.  Following behind were several large limousines and many other cars. 

Now there's a first for me.  It's the sort of thing I might like for when my time comes.  I've just never seen this sort of procession in person.  Hmmm, I'll have to give that a bit of thought.  On this note, I shall take my leave.  Y'all have a magnificent day.

New Parts For Kit Posted Tomorrow

This is just a quickie post to let you know  that Su and I will be posting the next parts to our kit tomorrow.  She is just returning home from the hospital and my cable service is being changed this morning.  I expect the cable workers to show up any moment.  If they leave early enough, I'll be back later to post a bit here.  Meanwhile, Y'all have a fabulous day.
