It's a beautiful sunny morning, and I'll be going home soon. The Mrs has been so crabby lately. I'm hoping that when I come back this evening, she'll be in a much better mood.
My laptop is acting up, and the mouse is giving me all sorts of problems. I'm hoping that the problem lies only in the mouse and not in the laptop. The mouse doesn't drag items anywhere, and the scroll doesn't work properly. It would be so nice to think that a new mouse might solve the problem. I'll have to call Wayne and ask him to take a look.
I went out yesterday to take some photos of my flowers, and I found this bug? insect? nibbling away inside a pretty pink rose. I don't know what it is, but I did knock it to the ground.
I'll have to take a break here. I want to check on the Mrs one last time before I go home.
********
I'm home now, so as long as my leg does not get swollen during the day, I will go back to work tonight. Tomorrow morning I will call my doctor. If he can't help me, I'll go to the ER. I'm getting a bit nervous about how this reaction to the bite is coming along.
Thank goodness I have my little laptop, because I will take that to work with me tonight. I have another photo to share. This is some of the blooms on my yellow rose tree. They are just so sunny and cheerful.
Now I think I'll re-dress my blister wound, and then see what I'll have for breakfast. I bought a green pepper, so I'm thinking that scrambled eggs and peppers sounds pretty good. Mmmmm! Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Welcome Amelia. Happy Birthday!
July 14, 2012
Good morning. I'm late posting because I've been trying to figure out how to send a picture from a text message on my phone to my computer email. I never did figure out how to do it, but Deanne figured out how to do it from her phone. So now I am a happy camper again.
Why was this such an important thing to do? Well let tell you before my bubble bursts. Very early this morning, great grandbaby number 6 arrived. Oh my, what a beautiful little girl Miss Amelia is.
This little lady took her sweet time getting here, but she was surely worth it. I guess you could say that this is one of the perks of your golden years. Several years ago, when my first great grandchild was born, we took a four generation photo. Hmmmm, who knows? Maybe the future will bring me a five generation photo too. Now that would be nice!
Update on my bite, it's looking a bit gloomy. The stuff is spreading with bite welts popping up everywhere. Maybe it has to do this before it can go away. I don't know, but come Monday morning I will be calling my doctor to see what we do next. Unless it gets a lot worse, then I will visit the ER.
I downloaded some photos of a fisher cat from Google to show you what they look like. This first photo had no author's name listed.
This next photo listed wearewag.org as the photo's owner.
And finally, this last photo also did not list an owner.
I have to admit, this is a beautiful animal. Beautiful, but not something I would want to run into when it is angry. I also don't like the idea of it living in my yard. I did find a phone number online of the local Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. I'm going to call them to see if there is a better way to catch and re-locate this critter.
Now I really must get a move on here. Deanne and Eddie will be here soon to teach me (once again) how to move photos from my text messages over to my photo gallery on this magnificent piece of technology called a smart phone. Do you suppose I'll ever get the hang of it? Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

A Purple Fountain Weeping Beech Tree
July 13, 2012
Good morning. I'm at work, and the Mrs is still asleep. Yesterday, I was so tired after exercising, that I went back to bed instead of sitting at the computer. It was not the exercises that made me tired. It was probably because of getting to sleep rather late and then getting up early in the morning.
The doctor prescribed an ointment and an antibiotic for the mess on my leg from the spider bite. However, the pharmacy could not fill it until late Wednesday (I guess they were out of the stuff). By then, the mess on my leg had begun to spread to other areas and the itch was wicked.
It also started to form a big blister. By yesterday afternoon, I decided to break the blister because it was getting quite big and was really very itchy. Needless to say, it was also quite a messy little bugger. Today it is covered nicely with an antibiotic cream and bandaids, and I must say that most of the itch has disappeared.
Janet was by Wednesday afternoon, and brought along some of the photos she had taken of her fish. She has quite a nice aquarium filled with interesting fish. I thought I would share a couple of her photos here.
I also have a photo of the gorgeous roses on Deannes's white rose tree. This plant will be stunning in a few days because it is covered with buds.
Thanks for helping me find a name for the tree that I showed here the other day. I looked Weeping Beech tree up on Google and found that it is called a "Purple Fountain" Weeping Beech tree. Not all of the Weeping Beech trees are purple. There is a huge green one that I pass on my way to work. I will stop one of these days and take a photo of it. I think they are quite fascinating.
The sticky heat worked it's way back here yesterday, and I guess it will be staying for a while. I can't complain though, because at least it won't be in the high 90's. Just normal sticky hot summer days.
Do any of you know how to tempt a fisher cat into a trap? Short of putting a live chicken in the trap, (which I definitely would not do!) we can't seem to coax this critter into the trap. We don't want to hurt it, just move it to a different area with lots of trees. This isn't an easy job, and there is at least one youngster now.
We have also been invaded by plant eating rabbits. I'm wondering if I toss out some carrots every day, if these bunny rabbits will leave my plants alone. They eat everything, flower, leaves, everything! I wonder what I did to upset the garden gods so much that they have sent me these wicked critters.
The Mrs will be waking soon, so that's it for this morning. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Who Invited Those Pounds Back?
July 11, 2012
There's still a few more minutes here to say "Good Morning". I just could not make myself get up early enough this morning to post my blog before leaving to go do exercises with Deanne. When I did crawl out of bed, there was just enough time to get dressed, grab some bottles of water and leave. The good part is that today I managed about a mile and a quarter between the two machines.
What a shocker I got when I got weighed at the Doctor's office. Whatever weight I had managed to lose, I put back on and then some. This is not cool. So for now, it's more water for me, and less iced coffee with cream and sugar. Also, I think I need to cut back the evening snacks. Maybe just two cookies and some light yogurt.
I'd like to share a layout that a reader has made from our June collab kit "Monkey See, Monkey Do". Claudia's son and his class were celebrating their teacher's birthday with a circus theme, so this kit was just perfect for scrapping some memorable moments. Claudia, your layout is just fabulous!
Do visit Claudia's blog to see some of her beautiful scrap layouts. http://www.tristanvanschie.blogspot.com.
I have another photo of a strange looking tree. This is one of the three that I've run across in my travels. Do you know the name of it? If so, please me know. Some of the green behind this tree is not part of the tree, but another tree further back.
I really don't have much news for today. Methinks that I shall meander in to my bedroom and have a little nap. Then I can finish the laundry that I started this morning. Today is "strip the bed and wash all the sheets and blankets" day. Ah, so much fun! So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Here Possum, Possum!
July 10, 2012
It's early, and no I;m not at work. I set my clock early so that I would have time to post my blog and enjoy a cup of java before I go to my doctor appointment this morning. I'm hoping that the doctor can help me with that mess on my leg. It keeps spreading and is itcy as ever.
There's a new commercial on TV that I absolutely love. I think it's a Geico ad. It starts with a man saying that his kids want a dog, but it's so expensive. Instead, he buys them a possum (which is much less expensive). After staring at the possum for quite a while, the kids tell their Dad that maybe the possum is dead. Dad says "No, it's just playing possum." In another moment or two, the possum springs up and hisses at the kids.
For some silly reason, this ad tickles the funny bone. When you consider all the really miserable commerials that are on TV lately, it's such a treat to see one with so much creativity and imagination.
Yesterday's exercise session went well, and I managed to walk more than a mile with the combined exercises. And what's great is that I don't wake up sore the next day. I brought my camera along with me and we took some photos. I pieced together three shots to make this picture. We're all having a good workout!
I was going through some photos and came across this one that I took early one morning last September. It was such a peaceful scene, and I thought I would share it with you.
And here's another photo of a dragonfly that I took a week or so ago. I really enjoy trying to photograph these critters. They are so quick, and not always easy to get close to. This one was at work near the Mrs' back patio.
Now I really must get going here and finish my coffee and get dressed. Before you know it, it will be time for me to leave for my appointment and I'll still be sitting here in my nitie. Nope, that just won't do! So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

It's Time For Some "Summer Fun"
July 09, 2012
Good morning. Last night, I had a nice chat with Su as we finished up our first two parts for the new collab kit "Summer Fun". I must say, having MSN on the computer makes it much easier to keep in touch with folks. I know I crab a lot about some of the new technology, but deep in my heart, I do love most of it.
Except for my smart phone. On one hand, it's a great phone. On the other hand, it's crappy. It doesn't always get service reception when I need it. Like at home and at work. It has taken me all year to figure out how to use some of it, but all the problems that come with it make it not so nice. (I do love the GPS on it though.)
As soon as I can decide on a new carrier, I shall get me a new phone. Are you like me? I have to check each and every carrier and their plans. Then I need to check the prices for everything and what's included. After that, I start asking everyone with a phone about what carrier they use, and how good is their reception. By the time I have it figured out which phone and service to go with, there's something new out and I have to start all over again. If nothing else, it keeps me busy!
Yesterday morning after I finished posting here, I went over to Deanne's and we did our exercises. I'm beginning to get a bit used to them now. I've decided that the Brazil Butt program is for a younger group. Just watching it wore me out. There comes a time in one's life when we need to realize that saggy butts are sort of beautiful too. I guess that's the point I'm at, at the moment.
Enough chit chat, let's get down to the new kit. Here's my preview of Parts 1 & 2.
And here is your download link:
http://www.mediafire.com/?jjm4hjz4ypbhgye
When you have finished dowwnloading here, stop by Su's blog and pick up her Parts 1 & 2. Be sure to stop for a moment and say thank you. It really is appreciated so very much. Here is Su's preview.
Now I'm going to finish my scrambled eggs and bacon, and head on over to Deanne's and work off a few calories. I may have to call my doctor today and have him look at my leg. I got bit by something last Wednesday morning, and my leg is still quite a mess.
That's all the news for this morning. So till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Where'd The Music Go?
July 8, 2012
Good morning. I've just got home from work, and it's already 80 degrees F. It probably won't be quite as hot as yesterday though. We're supposed to hit high 80's to 90 today. Then tomorrow, the temps are supposed to go down another squish or two.
Folks, I've been working on restoring the music playing back on my blog. I don't why Playlist doesn't play on the blog anymore, so I'm looking around to see if I can find a program that does. If you know of one, please let me know. It has to be one that has older music, rock n roll, country, pop, etc. 40's through 80's is my favorite but I do like others.
Friday at work I went outside to take a couple photos of the Mrs' pink coneflowers. Here's one with a Bee Fly (I think).
I also got a few shots of another dragonfly. I keep trying to photograph the big ones, but they seem to only land on branches that are quite high up.
Eddie was here yesterday when the thunder storms rolled by. We got close to 14 drops before it was over. After that, Eddie decided he should water my gardens. He gave everything a good drink and when he was done, the heavens opened up and dumped a minute or two of rain on us. Go figure!
Later, I went to exercise with Deanne. I can only walk between half and three quarters of a mile on the treadmill so far, but every little bit helps. Who knows? If I get to like this, maybe one of these days I will get my own little treadmill so that I can use it everyday. We'll see.
Tomorrow, Su and I will begin posting our new July collab kit "Summer Fun". No hints, you'll have to wait unti tomorrow to see it. Well, that's all the news for this morning. I'll be leaving soon to pick up iced coffees to take to Deanne's. Mmmmmmmm. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a beautiful day.
