November 7, 2011
Good morning. It's quite nice here, sunny and a bit cool yet, but it will be warmer in a few hours. They are forecasting a few gorgeous days. Woo Hoo! I can dig it! Anything that holds off the cold weather is okay with me.
Well, I had a good night at work last night. Mrs was in a much better mood, and once she was in bed I was able to play on my laptop for a couple of hours. Then I hooked up my portable external drive and copied over 100 gigabytes of material onto it. Tonight I will do the same thing again with my desktop external drive, then I can erase it all from my laptop. I like to have two copies. You never know when one of these marvelous tekkie toys is going to croak.
I'm one of those folks who thinks that everything has to be on the hard drive because I might need it one of these days. However, after a while my laptop starts to take a while just to start up. Yesterday I checked to see just how full up it was and was quite surprised to see that I only had 45 GB left for free space. My bad!
Tootsie is not walking so good these days. I have increased her meds a little bit to see if this will help. Right now, she's sitting here looking at me wondering what's for breakfast. So, I'll get right to the new kit for November. This one is called "Giving Thanks." Today, I have Parts 1 and 2 for you.
Here is your download link:

When you have finished downloading, hop on over to Su's blog and pick up her first two parts. Here is her preview.
We hope you enjoy this new kit. We've enjoyed making it for you. Remember to take a moment to stop and say thank you. This really goes a long way.
Now I have to get busy here. Eddie just got here to put up a new door on one of the bedrooms. Sigh. The work never ends! Until tommorow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

A Busy Day, Then Back To Work
November 6, 2011
It's almost good afternoon! I got up real early this morning and have been busy, busy, busy. First I had to go through all the Christmas gifts that I bought yesterday. I made a fantastic dent in my shopping list. Now I just have to get out the wrapping papers and get everything wrapped and tagged. Oh, bless my soul, it feels good to have so much of it done.
Getting back to my new goodies from the camera show, I bought me another 16 GB Class 10 SD card for my camera. You can't have too many of these, and this one was on sale. Then I bought the cutest little key chain. It has what looks like a lens hanging off it that opens to reveal a lens cleaning cloth tucked inside.
For my big present, I decided to do the deed, and got me the new upgrade to my favorite lens. It's a Tamron 18-270 mm, F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD. This one is soooooo quiet, smaller and lighter! Of course, it needs 62mm filters (the other lens used 72 mm filters.) So I bought a new Polarizer filter. I think they change these mm sizes so that you have to go out and buy all new filters! I think I'll list my other lens on E-Bay. It's the same lens without the PZD.
As soon as I got home yesterday, I had to try out the new lens. Oh yes, yes!! I do love it! While we were at the show, I saw this gigantic lens. I couldn't even turn it (on a camera on a tripod) so that I could have a peek through it. I didn't even ask about its' price. It was mostl likely way up in the thousands. But it sure is nice to dream!
Last night after supper, I worked on finishing up the November kit and started getting it wrapped and zipped. Then I decided to play a bit with some new photo art. This one I like enough that I think I'm going to have it printed, so that I can frame it and hang it on the wall. I'll show you the original photo first, and then the Photo Art.
I'm learning not to toss out all my not so great photos. I use them for all sorts of things. Like backgrounds, elements and textures for scrapping. Also, I crop them and use them for photo art. I must remember to put my initials in the corner of this new one before I have it printed.
I also have a couple more photos of the pigeons from yesterday. The man who is feeding them must do this a lot because in the second photo you can see how patiently they sit waiting for him to get out some more food. They look like a bunch of little kids waiting for a cookie.

Oh What A Fun Fun Day!
November 5, 2011
Good morning on this chilly sunny morning. I know it's going to warm up a bit today and I can hardly wait. I love warm Fall days. The air is crisp, and the trees are gorgeous. At least a lot of them are. Thanks to hurricane Irene, we lost a lot of the leaves that would have been showing off their magnificent color. But we do still have lots of color left and for that I am very happy.
I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday cards, greetings and calls. It really made my day sparkle. Did I have a super duper day? Yes, Yes, Yes!! Dee Dee went with me while Eddie stayed at home to take care of things there. I finally got to use my GPS which I bought for me almost three years ago. I could never figure out how to set it and work it so it sat in it's little box on the bookshelf. Till Eddie spotted it the other day and set it for me.
The little lady inside the GPS isn't exactly very chatty, unless of course you don't go the way she wants you to go. Yesterday, on the Tobin Bridge in Boston, she was telling me to make a U turn. Can you believe it? I told her to have another drink and I kept going straight. On the whole though, she did very well getting me where I needed to go and back home again.
The camera show was fantabulous!! I drooled over lenses and cameras. When I got a bit too drooly, Dee Dee would take me by the arm and move me to another part of the room. She's such a good daughter. I'm so glad she was with me because these shows are so much more fun when you have someone to share the fun with.
One of the things I bought was a new camera bag. If I want to have my camera with me wherever I go, I need to carry two bags, my purse and my camera bag. My new bag is wonderful. It's a sling back bag with enough room to carry my camera and my pursey stuff.
I love it so far. It's not too heavy, yet just roomy enough. I have to learn not to carry so much junk with me. Money, keys, credit card, medicine. That should be about enough. You can wear this over one shoulder or put it over your head and across your body. I think I'm going to be happy with this bag.
On the way home, we saw a man feeding pigeons so I pulled over to take some photos. This is one of the shots. I have more but I have to go through them to see what I have.
I did buy some other goodies, but I will have to wait till tomorrow to tell you about them. Right now, I have to get dressed and get out to do an errand. So till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantastic day.
Hugs, Edna B.

A Gift For You Today
November 4, 2011
Good morning!! I couldn't sleep any longer so Tootsie and I got up. It's still quite dark outside, but I have the little fireplace on and it's quite cozy here in our living room. Tootsie has finished her morning treat, and I'm enjoying a cup of coffee.
All night I have been thinking of today's camera show and all the wonderful new things I hope to see and learn. I will be looking for a new camera bag and another memory card. Of course, I could very well be tempted to consider some other purchase. lol. Tootsie told me to "go for it!" See why I love her so much? She's so good to me!!
Oh, goodie. I have the weather channel on because I want to see how much rain to expect today. And guess what? They are calling for mostly sunny skies all day and temps about 49 degrees F. Woo Hoo!! Sounds good to me!
On TV, they are showing pictures of a 1500 year old Sequoia tree that fell down to the ground. Wow! What a huge tree! Some folks had climbed up on top of it and were walking along the trunk. Gosh, the people look so tiny! I hope none of the other "old" trees start falling down. These trees are treasures.
I have a fun layout to share this morning. The other day, I started to work on a challenge and got carried away. By the time I was finished, I had forgotten what the challenge was. The background was created by Zirconium Scraps, and the pumpkin and mouse are from R11. Of course, the gorgeous little dog is my Tootsie.
I also have a freebie gift for you today. I made this packet of papers over a year ago for a brush challenge, but I don't think I ever posted it. I hope you can use it.
Here's the download link:
EXPIRED
Speaking of freebies, you should have a look at the beautiful kit that Kyra has posted this morning. It's called "Remember With Tenderness" and the colors are just scrumptious! While you're there, take a moment to say "hello."
It will be daybreak soon, so I think I'll see about rustling up some breakfast for my little girl and me. I have been tempting her with fruity yogurt and bits of chicken and roast beef. So far, it seems to be working. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Clouds Are Beautiful Too
November 3, 2011
Good morning. It's 8:30 and the sun is shining. I managed to coax Tootsie into eating some yogurt and a little dish of roast beef last night, so all in all that makes this a good morning. Today though, brings a unique new problem. We seem to have a ghost who collects TV remotes.
Yesterday, the remote to the TV in the living room (out in the main part of the house) stopped working properly. Later, it seemed to be working okay so I just forgot about it. Then last night, the same thing happened. It seems that the remote is not the one that goes to the TV. A ghost must have taken our remote and left this other one in it's place. Strange!
What to do? Well, I took the remote that does not work and put it away. Now everyone will have to watch TV the old fashioned way. They may even enjoy the exercise they will be getting as a bonus. They will have to get up and walk to the cable box to turn the set on and off and to change channels and volume. Oh dear! I hope they can all manage this!
Last night, I worked on the new weekly theme for photo class. This week it is clouds, so that is right up my alley. I love photographing the clouds. Here are the two photos that I uploaded. Both were taken on my way home from Plymouth Harbor.
I have another photo to share that I took one morning on my home from work. This is what it looks like now in the morning on my way home. At this point, I am about five minutes from home.
All the while my kids were growing into teenagers and young adults, I was 27 years old. No one ever questioned me until the oldest one turned 16. It was then that she inquired about "how come my age never changed?" I finally had to confess and told her that I was really 30. That seem to make her happy. It was quite a few years later that she actually did the math and found out that I was fibbing.
Why do we do this? Who knows! I guess it's just a woman thing. Even at my age now, I know a lot of women who still fib about their age. Why do they still do this? I have worked my whole life, raised my family, and did my best to realize my dreams. It took me 71 years to accomplish all of this, and today is the last day I can be 71. I'm going to enjoy it!
Now I have a load of laundry waiting to be done, and then I'm going to see what flavor yogurt I can get Tootsie to eat for breakfast. So far, she likes the strawberry, mixed berry and key lime.. Now we will try the peach. Is she spoiled? Of course! Every step she takes makes my heart smile. So, till tomorrow, Y'all find something wonderful to smile about and have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

It's Looking Like Another Great Day
November 2, 2011
Tootsie and I are off to an early start this morning. Poor darling was frantically trying to wake me up this morning and I was trying to ignore her. However, when she started doing a frenzied dance, I grabbed her and rushed her out to her potty room. Almost made it!! When will I ever learn???
It's an hour later now, everything has been cleaned up, Tootsie has had a bath, and I am sipping my coffee. I don't think my little girl is feeling so good today. She's not even eating her chicken treat and that is unusual for her. Gosh, I hope she didn't catch a cold the other night. She's also not eating so good, so I will have to watch her carefully, and maybe call her doctor if she does not improve soon.
Eddie and I did a bit of shopping yesterday. I never realized how much information you need to carry with you just to buy some weatherproofing plastic for the windows. I do know that most of the kits available are cut too short for my old windows. Why do they do that? The newer 60" windows do not need plastic weatherproofing. The old 70" and 80" windows are the ones that need it. So why do the plastic sheets come already cut 60-64" long? My brain is missing something here.
Next on the list was to have Eddie hang one of Moo's wall paintings up on my living room wall. It's an oil painting so you know what's coming next. Yup! This thing does not just hang on a screw. You need a picture hanging kit. We'll do this another day.
We did not get to buy any of the paint we need, nor did I look for a pair of sheer curtains for my door. It wasn't a wasted trip though. We did get the moulding for my door and a can of stain. Plus, Eddie hung my clock up on the living room wall. Oh, and I found a really pretty Christmas bow to hang on my new door. So it was a good day after all.
I have a couple of photos to share this morning. The first one is a miniature rose bush that is covered completely in ice. It almost looks fake.
One of the weekly themes in photo class is "street signs." I was looking for something interesting, and found this stop sign on my way home from work this past Sunday morning. I found it rather unique with a mix of Fall colors, snow and broken twigs.
Lastly, I also stopped Sunday morning to take this photo of a wooded area that I found to be quite pretty. It has a sort of "Fairy Land" look about it.
There is a camera show coming up this Friday and Eddie said that he will take me there. I'm like a kid with a nickel to spend at the candy store. There will be lots of new goodies there, and factory reps and tech specialists to do demonstrations. There will also be some short seminars on cameras and photography. The show is on for three days, so who knows? Maybe I will go back a second time?
You know, just about every year I work on my birthday. This year, I decided that considering the age I am getting to be, I need to start treating myself a little bit. A lot of the kids that I grew up with, and most of my family are gone. So this year I'm not only am taking Friday off, but I'm having Saturday off too! I had been thinking that I might not go to Florida this winter, but now I think that perhaps I will. After that, there are lots of other places that I would like to visit. Get ready world. Here I come!
Now it's time to get Tootsie her morning meds, and see if I can tempt her to eat some breakfast. It's beginning to look quite nice outside so maybe I can take her out for a little while. We'll see. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

We Had A Fantastic Ride Last Night!
November 1, 2011
Ooowee, was it ever chilly on our ride last night! But I must say that it was a lot of fun. Yes, I saw your wave, Nani. Folks, she had lots of little trick or treaters at her house. If we had the time, we might have stopped by for some of that yummy candy.
However, halfway through our trip, Tootsie decided that she had to go potty and did not want to make any stops. The rest of the way home, she had all her toes crossed. Poor baby! I do have one question for everyone else we met on our ride. How come none of you brings along your doggie? Tootsie was the only doggie we saw all night. Everyone else was traveling with their cat.
Right now, I'm watching the shopping channel. They are showing a gorgeous fake Christmas tree and all the trimmings. The tree is on sale for $300, and the ornaments are sold in sets of one color each for $50 a set. I guess some folks like the one color scheme but I'm old fashioned and want multi colors. So imagine what it would cost me to decorate that tree with the designer ornaments. They had hot pink, citrine, aqua, silver, gold, russet and purple. That's another $350 to buy all the different colors. I would hope the tree lasts for at least ten or twenty years.
Now they are showing a new toy -- a set of two sock monkeys that you shoot at each other like sling shots. Remember those sling shots? Remember all the kids that were hurt really badly getting hit with them? So I guess it's okay to bring them back as long as they are shaped like sock monkeys?
Now they are showing a $40 candy assortment. You get a box each of peanut brittle, toffee, peppermint bark, and smores. I think I'm going to turn on "Thomas The Tank Engine" because I really am trying to lose a few pounds. I was doing so good for a while, but then I put a few pounds back on. I liked it better when they were lost.
Today, I have some freebies for you. I love making QP's and today I have an assortment of them for you to scrap all your Halloween photos. This first one is my absolute favorite because it's so playful and happy. I'll put the download link beneath each QP. Enjoy!!

Enjoy!!
