My Day For Photos

Today was a bit long, because I didn't really get much sleep last night. Just a bit of cat-napping, and then up by 3:45 am. Played on the computer for a while till it was time to get ready for work, then off I went. When you're tired, it makes for a long rather dull day.

Although, I did see a couple of really interesting things. Just before I got to work, I had to stop my car in the middle of the road to let a small herd of deer cross to the other side. Big ones and little ones. Of course, my camera was in the back seat. Duh!!!

In the afternoon, all the little birds were flocking to the feeder because we have another storm coming our way for tomorrow. I got my camera, and managed to get a few shots of two little ones bickering over the birdfood. I love watching these little critters.

Then while I was getting ready to leave for home, I looked out the kitchen window by the sink, and what do you suppose I saw? I grabbed up my camera and started shooting away. Considering my photos are taken through windows, I think they look pretty good. Here's what was outside the kitchen window.

Today was my day for photos, I guess. Some days, I don't see anything more spectacular than a cardinal or a red squirrel. Other days, everything in the neighborhood trots by the window. Maybe next week I can get some pretty country snow scenes. We are expecting another foot of snow tomorrow night into Sunday. Yeesh!! White is definitely not on the top of my favorite colors list.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYRA

Golly, it's almost bedtime, and I'm just getting here. I've been so busy playing, that the time just gets away from me. I was looking through the challenges, and found that I was supposed to be making Recipes cards for the Kitchen challenge. This is an ongoing challenge, so needless to say, it will be one H-U-G-E kit when we are all finished with it.

So, with the help of some recipe card templates from Snow Raven, I spent the next couple of hours making up my recipe cards, and getting them posted and uploaded. Want a peek?

My kitchen kit is called "Meema's Kitchen" because many years ago, some of my grandchildren gave me a clock for Christmas that says "Meema's Kitchen" on it. It still hangs in my kitchen. (I'm Meema to all my grandchildren and a few others)

Before I forget, I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to KYRA. I hope your day was fantastic, and filled with laughter and love, Kyra. Here's to many more.

I need ideas for kits, ladies. Any suggestions, please drop me a comment and let me know. I'm planning on a Pets kit, a Chicken kit, and of course Valentines, St Patricks and Easter. At least that's I'm thinking of at the moment. Help me out here with some new ideas.

It's time now to play ball with Tootsie for a bit, and then it's bedtime for Bonzo. 5:30 comes awfully early in the morning. Have a great night.

Busy Busy Day.

My one year anniversary on this blog is coming up really soon. I will have to think of something special to do. I don't know what, yet, but it will be nice.

Wow, what a busy day. I started by backing up and erasing files from one of my external hard drives. Once I made some room there, I transferred a huge file from my PC over to this external hard drive. I took hours, but I think I accomplished at least something. Gosh, I certainly hope so. This took up most of my day.

Then I tried to follow up on our neighborly pirateer. She's closed up and emtied out her blog of all her things. H-m-m-m-m. I wonder what that was all about. She posted on a friend's blog that she was going to re-open her blog somewhere else. So we will just have to keep an eye out for her.

In between all this, I played ball with Tootsie for a while, and finished up my towel laundry. I also had to fill up the oil tank today. This furnace (or maybe it's the weather) seems to be guzzling up the oil quick as a wink. It's only been two weeks since the last delivery.

I just got an email from a friend about a new HUGE virus coming our way. I have to check it out and send it to my friends and family, but the main gist is -- DO NOT OPEN ANY MAIL THAT SAYS IT IS A CARD FROM SOMEONE FROM HALLMARK. NO MATTER WHO SENDS IT, DO NOT OPEN. It is supposed to wipe out your whole C drive. At the moment there is no fix for it. If you see it, shut off your PC. After I read more, I will tell you more.

Someone Is Pirating??

I would like to thank all of you for your thoughtful and heartfelt comments. They really do make me feel inspired. I know I'm very late posting this, but for some reason, I got busy playing on my PC, and time just slipped away. That will be another of my goals for this new year. Being a bit more prompt and timely.

Also, I would like to bring something to your attention. One of my visitors found this and passed the information on. I, in turn, passed it on to Snow Raven. There seems to be a pirate site. It's not a very nice thing to do. Someone called "Sugar Spice Brat" has apparently stolen designs from Snow Raven and Lord knows who else, and has posted them as her own.

Designers work very hard on their designs, plus they also give a lot of them away as freebies. There is really no need for anyone to steal these designs, not to mention that it's not moral either. So if any of you does see stuff like this, please bring it to our attention so that the proper owner can tend to the matter.

It's very late, and Tootsie and I are going to head for our cozy little bed. But first, I want to share a new photo with you. I took this through a window while I was at work. I had just picked up my camera when I saw a cardinal in a bush. I figured he was going to fly over to the feeder, so I starting clicking, and this is what I ended up with. Enjoy,

Giving Thanks

I did a little backtracking this afternoon, and came up with some disturbing numbers. Did you know that during the year 2008, I posted 26 kits and one project as freebies. I also posted 33 of my own QP's, and 43 QP's made with Snow Raven's kits. Many of these items were downloaded by hundreds of you, but only a very few of you stopped for a moment to say "thank you."

This can be very disenheartening. However, I think of the few of you who not only stop to say "thank you," but leave comments, and I find that enough to make me go on. So rather than dwell on the lot of you for running in and out without a tiny word of thanks, I wish to focus on the few of you that keep me smiling and creating. For you, I will keep on posting freebies. You make it all worthwhile. Thank you.

During the year of 2008, I made so many new and wonderful friends through scrapping and this blog, and I am thankful for all of you. During 2009, I don't ever want to lose sight of who I am and why I do what I do. My scrapping and my new friends keep my mind young and constantly thinking. For this I am also thankful.

Today, I am very pleased with myself. Last night I figured out how to get the internet on my laptop when I am away from home. Normally, I don't play around with unknown objects, buttons, clicks, etc. that are on my computer and laptop, because I'm always afraid I'll crash it and lose all my stuff. But this is a new year, and I've decided that I need to get a handle on things and try new stuff.

Boy, let me tell you when that internet popped up on my laptop last night, I had the biggest grin on my face, and no where to go. I had already answered my mails, posted my blog, posted to the forum, etc. So instead, I browsed Snow Raven's and Kyra's blogs just to make it all worth my time. Just think how smart I can be by the end of the year if I only try one new thing each week.

Wow!! It just goes to show, you're never to old to learn. Just ask me, and I'll tell you.

Now that I've done my whistling and tooting, I'll leave you, and go spend some time with Tootsie. I have a new QP for you today that I made with Snow Raven's new kit "Sweet Music." Enjoy,

I'm Back From My Short Hiatus

Did you miss me? Sometimes I get so busy doing something, that I forget everything else. I fell into bed early Friday, was just too tired to much of anything but snuggle under warm covers and watch TV and snooze. Saturday, I made an attempt to do some long overdue cleaning out. After this, I worked on my PC a while, and then it was time to get ready for work. I don't know how the time slips away from me so quickly, but it does.

Today, I'm just plain lazy. I've been catching up on my blog hopping, and trying to finish up my portion of the February Daily Downloads for Magickal Scraps. All I have left now is the previews, and uploading.

Happy New Year - 2009

Happy New Year everybody!! We've all made it to another year. I wonder how many of you watched the ball drop at midnight in Times Square. Moo, Tootsie and I, along with one of the dwarfs watched the ball drop and the fireworks from Boston. First, I'm not crazy about the new ball they are using in New York. I liked the old one better. Second, Boston put on a fantastic fireworks show. Although I'm glad to say that we watched all the merriment from the warmth of our living room. It was nasty cold last night, and it still is today. Even my apartment is too cold for comfort. My fingers feel like popsicles.

Lord, I'm sorry to wish away time and a beautiful season, but Spring can't get here fast enough for me. It snowed all day yesterday and the night before. The weatherman says we have more snow coming tomorrow and the next day. I'm beginning to really dislike that weatherman.

January brings a whole new round of challenges at the Magickal Scraps forum. Have some fun, and come check them out. For this month's recipe challenge, I'm asking for recipes that use wildlife, such as deer, moose, etc. This should be especially fun for those of you who do go hunting for food. Me, I'd rather go to the supermarket, but many of you tromp through the woods hunting for your dinner.

Today, I'll share my layout made for the Recipe Challenge. I was thinking that Miss Audrey might like this one. Hope you do too. Now I'm going to find something warmer to put on before my whole body looks like a popsicle. Br-r-r-r!! Till tomorrow,
