New Double Layout

Well, the weather today was a few degrees cooler (upper eighties), so we got to open the windows for a while to let in a breeze.

Tootsie made it through her four week change in chemo therapy okay, so far, so good. If she continues, we'll be able to keep it at every four weeks. That would be really nice for her. I don't know how she does it, and she never complains. God bless her little soul.

Today, I finished a two-page layout for a challenge at Scraphead. I got this really neat "freebie" kit "Hunting" from The Maltese Scrapper at: http://bonniecarter.blogspot.com/ Give yourself a treat and visit her blog. She has the cutest kits.

Bridget at Scraphead gave us the template for the challenge, and the photos were supplied by Miss Audrey, my taxidermist daughter.

Ants Galore!

Another sweltering hot day out there. And tomorow's supposed to be more of the same. Yuk, yuk! I do not like this type of weather. On the other hand, I suppose it's a blessing just to be here and able to complain about it.

I got a big surprise tonight. My pantry floor and the adjoining bathroom floor was covered with big black ants. I never ever saw so many of these big black ants before, and I hope to never see them again. My brother and I spent ten minutes hopping and stomping on them trying to kill them all. While he went out to buy some ant spray, I used the fly swatter and beat quite a few of them to death.

Now I'm hot and sweaty, and all pooped out. I think I'll have a shower, and hop into bed and watch some TV. First, I'll share a couple of new layouts with you.

This first one is for a challenge at Scraphead. I had to use 1 (or more) photo, 2 frames, 3 buttons, and 4 paper backgrounds. The two little cuties in the photos are "Chrissy," my son's little black cockapoo, and of course Tootsie. The second layout was also made for a challenge, and I used Snow Raveb's "Fortune Teller" kit.

A New Blog To Visit

Oh Kyra, my friend, I just love you. What lovely comments. But, you know, my graduation photo was taken 27 years ago. But that's okay -- so my head swells just a little bit tonight. It's good for my ego.

Today the weather has been so hot and muggy that it's keeping everyone indoors most of the time. Except to cook -- can't use the oven in this heat, today the food gets cooked on the grill out doors.

I won't stay on long this afternoon, tonight is a working night, and Tootsie's chemo treatments start up again tomorrow morning. It's been four weeks since her last treatments, and she seems to be doing just fine. Maybe we can stay on the every four week schedule for a while. It's much better for her.

Well, Tootsie and I are feeling very refreshed today after a wonderful night's sleep. It's amazing what a few winks can do to make a person (and her little dog) feel better.

Today, Tootsie has an appointment at the "beauty salon," and I get to poke around in one of my favorite stores, "The Christmas Tree Shop." Every time I go in that store, I get myself in all sorts of trouble (spending money!).

Today I'm going to share another layout made with Snow Raven's "Spring Blossoms" kit. I'll also post the matching QP as your freebie for today.

This layout was made for a challenge at Scraphead, describing one of my life achievements. The photo was taken the day I got my Masters Degree. Once my children were grown, I took myself back to school and fulfilled another of my childhood dreams. The handsome guy in the picture with me is my brother Artie (Uncle Moo). Enjoy.

Two Freebies For You

Tonight I'll be quick. Twenty hours is a long shift and I'm a bit tired tonight. Tootsie and I are going to curl up in bed early and watch some television.

I have freebies for you tonight -- two mini kits, one in Mauves and one in Reds. I had to make a mini kit for a challenge on Scraphead and couldn't decide which of the color choices I liked the best, so voila! Two kits! Enjoy.

Two New Layouts

June 5, 2008

I think I just lost a few days. Seems like just yesterday that I wrote in my blog, but actually three days went by. I'm beginning to think that old age and the "golden years" ain't quite so golden. I have more wrinkles, my lovely figure ? fell down in rather unsightly globs, memory lapses are becoming the norm, and time goes faster than I can walk.

On the other hand, there are a couple of perks. One is the "senior discount," and the other is the way people tend to smile sweetly when waiting on a little old lady (or man). Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. In fact, every day that I wake up is a gift, and I try to enjoy all of it.

Enough serious stuff! How about I share a couple of layouts that I made with one of Snow Raven's new kits. This kit is called "Hope Catcher," and it is so much fun to work with. Both layouts were made for challenges at Scraphead. Enjoy,

News Alert & A Freebie

I found a little picture of what my purple tree should look like when it grows up. It's called a "Royal Empress" tree. Here is the picture.

First it blooms, then it's large leaves appear. Gee, I wonder why my little tree is so scrawny.

There must be a sign over my house that reads: "Send me your tired, your weak, your sickly, and your scrawny." All my life my purpose seems to be helping the helpless, now scrawny trees. I wonder what will be next? I already have two pet rocks, so it won't be a rock.

Tonight, I'm going to share another layout made with Snow Raven's kit "Ethereal Dream Fable." This one features my hubby and his mom.
