Good morning. At the moment, it isn't too bad outside yet (sunny and HOT), but in another hour or so the heat will be brutal. Thank goodness for the bit of rain that we did get during the night. There was thunder and lightning, but not very much noise. A short downpour, followed by light rain for a while managed to put a few small puddles in the driveway. (they are all gone now)
I had dozed off early in the evening, so I was awake through much of the night. However, I did get a few hours sleep early this morning. This is good because I still have a few things to do before it is time to go pick up my daughter Audrey. Her flight was delayed this morning, so she will be getting here an hour later than we had planned.
Pogo and I are so looking forward to having Audrey here this week. Him because it means extra spoiling for him, and me because I don't get to see her very often and I miss her. Your babies can grow up into adults, but they are always your babies.
Yesterday started out as a very gray and damp day that brought us cooler temps. Oh my, even though the air was damp, it's coolness felt delicious on our skin. Pogo and I took a nice long break and sat out on the porch. While we were out there, a tiny hummingbird entertained us as it went from the feeder to the petunias to the Rose of Sharon bush, taking sweet sips from everything.
While we sitting out there, I took a photo of the petunia plant that is on the porch. It has so many different shades of pink and purple on all its blooms.
I also took another photo of the Rose of Sharon (which I believe is part of the Hibiscus family) because it is just so pretty this year. The bush has thickened up nicely and has been covered in gorgeous blooms.
This morning I'm finishing up a bit of laundry, and then I'll relax a bit before going to pick up my daughter. I'd like to give Pogo another flea bath (just precautionary) too. Can't be too careful. With temperatures running so much higher than average, the fleas are coming out in full force. I would just prefer that they stay outdoors far away from our yard. (haha, I'm a dreamer!)
Well, that's my news for this morning. It's time to see what's for lunch and to decide on what to make for tonight's supper. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
So glad that Audrey is coming for a visit. I know that you two and Pogo will have a marvelous time visiting with each other. Oh yes, our babies do grow up into adults but they are our babies always.
Karyn came home last night. The rain was terrible and it took an extra hour to navigate the roads home. But they made is safely.
Karyn is making BLT's for lunch. I over slept this morning so I am very hungry. I will enjoy it all and much to the doggies angst, they cannot have any bacon. I might have enough left from my plate for a sneaky treat, we will see.
Have a wonderful day and I will talk with you later. Hugs to both of you and Pogo. Love Beth and Cisco
Sorry to hear that Audrey's flight has a delay Well, if it is only an hour, it still is to manage
Hope she will arrive safely and not too tired.
Your Rose of Sharon(it is Hibiscus family) looks gorgeous
I now have a cleamtis that starts to bloom and is full with buds.
Have a terrific day with your daughter and Pogo.
Hug
Kyra
