Good morning from my little part of New England. There's a definite chill in the air. Today the service man is coming to clean out our furnace so that we can turn on the heat. It gets downright chilly at night! Right now it's 45 degrees F, working its way up to 59 degrees. Pogo and I were outside a little while ago, and it's still quite nice even tough we need sweaters.
At the moment, I'm watching an infomercial for the Ninja Cooking System. It does look pretty interesting, and it's only $240. But, if you buy it right now, it's only $200. If I did cooked more, this might be a nice idea.
Yesterday I checked around for other camera clubs. There are a couple that sound interesting that I might look into. One of them does a lot of photo field trips, and teaches photo editing and how to use your camera at their meetings. At least this is what their web site says. It does sound pretty good.
Today, I should do a couple of errands, and then I really need to get busy and get caught up on my computer projects. After losing so many files, it's not so easy to get back in the mood to design. But, I am working on it. After all, it was just stuff.
I have an image to share this morning. I keep this on my computer all the time. It's a subject that is very near and dear to my heart. If you, or anyone you know is considering getting a new furry friend, please do consider visiting your local shelters. There are so many wonderful pets just waiting for a new forever family. They really do need you.
This past Monday was World Cancer Day, and I had meant to post a candle here on my blog. Somehow, I got sidetracked. This is quite easy for me. So, today I will post the candle with the hope that soon there will be a cure for this nasty disease that has touched the lives of so many of my loved ones and friends.
I also picked up a copy of "Digital Photo". This issue is about making amazing photo art, plus new techniques for using RAW. This is another thing that I want to learn more about, shooting with RAW. I 'm going to look up what it would cost to subscribe to these two magazines.
For now, I'm just going to get dressed and run the vacuum around a bit. I think I have an appointment at the nail salon too. Hmmm, I may have to reschedule that because I don't know what time the furnace service man is going to be here. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

U have a great day as well! Hope all is well with the furnace and no unexpected surprises! We are headed back up in temps around here, still on the very warm and humid side! Hope you enjoy the videos for your camera! I love the little saying for the shelters...all 3 of my "girls" are rescues! Only way to go! Hug Pogo really well and y'all enjoy the day! Hugs!! Mat
The photo of Jake is so sad. I know we'll end up with something furry later on, but the timing just isn't right yet.
Good luck with your camera club search. In my old home area we only had one so I guess I was willing to stick it out...there were no alternatives.
Dog Jake looks sooo sad. And yes, I agree, lots of people should go to an animal shelter and pick up a pet there. If you decide to have a pet, take one that needs a caring and loving home.
For now we stick to our Brodski, although it seems he is feeling a bit lonely. May be it's only our idea, and it is not the case, but somehow I think he still misses Dikkie.
One day, Jan and I were talking about pets and Jan said, that if me might have another cat, we definately will go to the animal shelter. He said, that there should be so many older cats, who need a new and warm home, and often people don;t want to take an older one. So who knows, may one day there will be an announcement of a new "family"member.
Perhaps you can go to some of the photoclubs on a "try-out"meeting, to see what they offer and how they do it.
Then you can decide which one suites you best?
Have fun with the furnace man! We too need the central heating on these days. Specially in the evening.
Have a great day

I am disappointed for you ... there is no excuse for excluding you from the competition. I am glad you are looking into other clubs ... I am sure you can do better.
I love Jake and I hope he found his home. At my age getting an older pet is a given. I can't imagine bringing a pet into your life knowing that they might outlive you ... that seems cruel. We have rescued cats and have a full house at this point, but we once rescued a 10 year old dog who's family had moved into assisted living and couldn't take him with them. That had to be heart breaking ... I know the little dog was sad for a long time before he finally got comfortable with us. Our Izzi is our Granddaughter's dog, though she really isn't because she lives with us. But she is an Aussie and once you are family you will always be family ... if anything happens to us she will go with our Granddaughter and because Izzi loves her, she will be happy.
We are dealing with cold nights and not so warm days here too. I keep taking my potted plants into the garage at night so they won't freeze. In years past I never had to worry about that until after Halloween. This has been a crazy weather year.
I think you need to spray your yard for the fleas. You are never going to get rid of them if Pogo can keep bringing them in from outside. That has to be a miserable problem. And, if you are miserable with the bites, I can imagine that Pogo must be suffering too. Sorry ... hope you find a solution. Better get my show on the road. Have a great day Edna ...
