Moo Fibs!

June 25, 2008

I'm a bit late tonight. Been working on my "Moo" kit, and I've been having a grand time with it. You know, sometimes guys can be really sneaky. Moo has been telling me right along that he doesn't really have the time to be reading my blog. Well, let me tell you -- he fibbed!!!

Today the man came by about my new windows, and I overheard my brother telling him about what I said on the blog about how men are when they are sick. I also heard him say that maybe I'd like to do my own cooking for a while. The nerve of him!!! The other guy got a big kick out of it, though.

I've had a special request from Rae. Tell me more about what you do, sizes, etc. It sounds really wonderful. E-mail me (my email is in the comments section). I'm working on a kit to go with the "Fourth of July" QP's, so maybe that will be a help to you.

Tootsie and I are off to dreamland now. We're going to snack on a strawberry shortcake first. M-m-m-m. Before I go, I'll leave you with another of the "Fourth of July" QP's. Enjoy.

Hugs, Edna B.

My Little "HamStar"

June 24, 2008

So, good news, Moo is feeling much better today. Other than a slight headache, and being cranky, he's been doing just fine. He even cooked for us tonight. One of these days, I'm going to have to make a kit dedicated to brothers.

I tried a new kind of layout for a challenge at Scraphead. It's Altered Art, and it's a trading card sized layout. It was so much fun, yet it was as much (or more) work as a regular sized layout. The template was supplied by Sherry D at Scraphead.

Okay, so what do you think? Is this little darling a ham, or what? I'll have to take some photos of her dressed up. She has tons of clothes, that she loves wearing. Little dresses, tee shirts, jogging suit, pajamas, hat, coats, sweaters and sweatshirts, and yes!! even little pink boots to wear out in the snow.

It was so hot out when Tootsie went for one her last chemo treatments, that I took her dress off. When we got to the hospital, the doctor's technician was so surprised to see Tootsie "naked" that she took her around to visit all the different doctors and technicians to see if they could recognize her. They love to see what she will be wearing when she comes to her appointments.

Back to scrapping, I've been working on some new QP's for the Fourth of July. Tonight, I'll post one for your freebie. Hope you like it.
Hugs, Edna B.

When Men Get Sick

June 23, 2008

I joined another forum, Digital Scrapgirl Forum, so I've been busy finding my way around and making a layout for a challenge. Once you register there, you receive a beautiful scrap kit as a welcome gift.

Head on over, and look around. The folks are really friendly, and eager to help with all your scrapping questions. http://www.digitalscrapgirl.com/forum

This is my layout for their template challenge.

Has anyone made a layout yet using "Ladies Night Out"? If you do, I would love to see what you've done with it. This layout was made with LNO, and the biker chick is my Tootsie just before a badly needed haircut. (But she's still beautiful!)

Poor Uncle Moo (better known as my brother, Artie) has caught the nasty cold that I had, and is feeling quite grumpy and sickly. Isn't it amazing the different effects colds and sickness have on men and women? When we women get sick, we shut up and lay low whenever possible, and carry on the best we can.

When the men get sick, they stomp and holler and growl, and their dispositions turn sort of nasty. Have you noticed this? Oh well. He'l be better soon, and back to normal. (Normal is a few shades lighter of "sick mode.") Oh my, I hope this is the week that my dearest brother doesn't bother to check in at my blog. I'll be cooking my own supper all next week.

Because your nice comments on LNO have put me in a great mood, I have a freebie for you tonight. Here is the matching QP to the layout above. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

More of Nature's Beauty

June 22, 2008

This week, I think Tootsie and I will go to a beach. She loves the sights and sounds, and watching all the people. Because it's usually too sunny and hot for her this time of year, plus we don't want to expose her to other animals, (she has no immune system to speak of) we take her very own pink doggie stroller. She sits in comfort, and enjoys everything around her.

Bet you thought you'd seen everything, huh? We do what we can to make life enjoyable for her. When the beach isn't very crowded and there are no other dogs around, she gets to run around in the sand. She goes up to the water, but doesn't go in. I don't think she likes getting her feet wet.

Today, I will share a couple of Miss Audrey's photos. We share a love of nature and most often photograph the same subjects. There is beauty everywhere just waiting to be captured on film. Take a few moments and look around you and enjoy what nature has to offer.

This first photo is of a large goose just beginning to flap his wings, and the second one is a beautiful lavender rose, "Angel Face," from Audrey's garden. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Thank You For Your Wonderful Comments

June 21, 2008

To those of you who took the time to leave a comment or say thank you, I want to say "thank you" to you. Your comments keep me inspired and looking forward to making another kit.

Today, I'll share a layout I made for a challenge. The kit I used is a collab kit from Scraphead's daily downloads. http://www.scraphead.com/ The photo is a rose from the garden at work.

Another layout I have just finished was made with Snow Raven's kit "Graduation Party" and two more beauties from Mother Nature.

It's brag time. I have to confess to having some very smart grand children. They all managed to finish up their respective school years with all Honors and High Honors. Today I learned that one of my granddaughters finished up her high school freshman year with a 4.125 grade average. This is awesome!! Need I tell you how very proud I am of all of them?

That's all for today, tonight's a worknight. Today's freebie will be the matching QP from Snow Raven's "Graduation Party." Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Part Six - Final - of LNO

June 20, 2008

First, let me start by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son. Amazing!! To me, he's still my little guy, yet he will soon be a grandfather. You know, I look into his face and I still see the same face that I saw all those many years ago. It got a bit rounder, older, wiser, but yet it's the same. So Happy Birthday, Son. I love you.

There is a beautiful new kit at Scraphead, called "Birthday Wishes." It is a collab kit done by Snow Raven and Carol Burns. Please do visit the shop http://www.scraphead.com/ and buy this kit. All proceeds go to the PDSA. http://www.pdsa.org.uk/ They are the UK's leading veterinary charity, caring for more than 350,000 pets.

Here is a layout I just finished using "Birthday Wishes." The adorable little dog is Sugee. Quite a few years ago, she passed on to Rainbow Bridge. She was an absolute little darling.

I love taking pictures of birds and animals. (Could you guess?) Today, I was lucky enough to photograph this beautiful cardinal, as he was taking a little rest on the roof.

Tonight, I will have to crack the whip and get busy making more layouts. I also want to finish up a couple of new kits that I will post as freeies soon.

Right now, it's time to make dinner. Tootsie has been sitting very patiently while I worked on this blog. I'll post the final"Part Six of Ladies Night Out." Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Part Five of LNO

June 19, 2008

Woo Hoo, I made it to another day. Tootsie and I went out today, and I got my nails done. Now I'm pretty. Silly, isn't it? But if that's all it takes to make an old lady happy, so be it.

There is so much beauty out in the big wide world. Most of us don't really notice it because we're so busy earning a living and supporting a family. Every now and then, you've got to stop and smell the roses.

Here are a couple of photos of some of that beauty. I took the first picture when I spotted a little bunny in the flower garden. The little darling sat right there and posed for me.

The next picture was taken in a parking lot next to "Wendy's." (fast food) These gulls will pose all day for you for a few french fries.

That's it for today. Gonna lay low the rest of the evening. Tomorrow's a work day. I'll be posting Part Five of "Ladies Night Out" for you. After this, one more part. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.
