HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

November 28, 2019

Good morning.  Today is Thanksgiving day here in the States.  The sun is shining and the temperature is a balmy 42 F degrees.  According to my phone app, we should be getting rain soon for the rest of the day.  But right now it is lovely outside my door.

This post will be short.  Most all of you will be getting together with family and friends to share a meal and give thanks for all that you have.  Pogo and I are going to sit down to dinner with a couple of the dwarfs (tennants) who will be home today.  Pogo is excited because we're ordering one of his favorite foods for dinner.  Chinese Pork Lo Mein and Pork Fried Rice.

This afternoon, I think I'll get out the pink afghan and put a few more rows on it.  It's finally more than half done.  Tomorrow I have to get serious about getting my Christmas card done.  I need to order it so that I have time to mail it.

Before I go, let me leave you with this thought.  (borrowed from the web)

Till tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving.  Y'all have a Blessed day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Thanksgiving, Edna! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I wouldn't mind coming over for the pork lo mien and fried rice. Yum!

I am so glad that you were not alone on Thanksgiving. I think that the pork lo mien and fried rice sounds better than the traditional Turkey and Ham dinner that we had.
I really would like things a bit simpler for Christmas. We usually only do a traditional at Christmas and Easter. Thanksgiving is usually a pot luck. Mexican, Chinese and one year we did Japanese. It is just so much work and we always end up making more than we planned. Yesterday there was talk of pies. We ended up with one pie, a pecan and other than the candied yams that was all the dessert that we had.

I'm fixing to go over to your todays blog post. Talk to you soon!!

Reading this post reminded me of the film, Christmas Story, when the entire family goes out for Chinese food after their turkey dinner is ruined by the neighbor’s dogs. Hope that you enjoy your dinner, Miss Edna. The words at the end of your post are sadly so true.
