Prayers For My Pogo

October 9, 2019

Good afternoon.  This is just a short post to let you know that my little Pogo is in the ICU at the hospital.  We went this morning for his eye exam.  It turned out to be very stressful for him, and the doctor said that he would not be a candidate for surgery.  She prescribed eye drops for him.  While I was paying the bill, Pogo was still very stressed.

As I was getting into the car to go home, I noticed his little head was limp and he was blue.  He had stopped breathing.  We rushed him back into the hospital to see if they could revive him,.  He was rushed into the ER and intubated to get him breathing again.  He was hooked up to an IV so that they could sedate him.  He was not breathing on his own yet.

They took us aside to give me the "this is critical and he may die" speech.  I signed the papers so that they would do whatever it took to keep him alive.  They let me go see him for a little bit.  He would have to stay in the ICU at least overnight.

The doctors said they would call me with updates.  One update call was to get permission to have the heart doctor examine him and do tests.  They were concerned about heart failure.  I told them it was because of him being so stressed from his eye appointment.  I gave the permission anyway.

The next update was to let me know that they were able to take the tube out of him and that he was in an oxygen tent and breathing.  They would be monitoring him all through the night.  If he makes it through till tomorrow, I'm hoping to bring my baby home.  I hate that word "if."

Prayers do help, so we can use all the prayers we can get for my little guy.  I'm thanking you in advance.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh my….so sorry to hear about Pogo not doing well. You might just need to leave his little eyes alone and if he does go blind just take care of him and help him out. I won't get Milo neutered because he has anxiety problems and whomever had him before I got him gave him a lot of pain. I gave him anxiety medicine when I first got him and it helped. He's not as bad now but if he gets cold after a bath he act up. I am praying for pogo to be fine. I think he will. God know how much we all love that little boy. Pogo is in my prayers and I know that little boy is coming home. keep me informed on how he is doing. I can't say have a good day because when our fur babies aren't well, we can't have a good day. He's in my blessings.
