Sassys Trip To The ER

September 10, 2019

Good morning.  Sorry about not posting yesterday, but by the time we got home, made lunch, washed the dishes, etc. it was after 3:30 so I  figured I'd just wait till this morning to post.

As you know, Deanne and I took Sassy to the hospital to find out what was wrong with her.  Sassy has been having trouble climbing the stairs lately, and started whimpering in her sleep.  We were hoping it was just arthritis creeping in and nothing more serious.  As it turned out, that's basically what the problem was.

Sassy is a tiny twelve pound Chihuahua (plus a bit of pug I think) and is not used to being trotted off to the hospital to be poked and probed.   The poor darling was very scared to say the least.  But she did a great job (did not bite the doctor).  Actually, she probably would have bit the doctor, but she had a tiny little muzzle on.  Here's a photo of her mommy (Deanne) cuddling her close so that she won't be scared.

After a few tests, the doctor prescribed some medicine to help with the pain and the inflammation.  Deanne will get the results from the tests sometime today.  Hopefully, they will show nothing else wrong.

While we  were away, the mailman left me a package.  It was a children's book that I had ordered.  I first saw this book mentioned on Steve's blog.   It's called "Tucker's Countryside."   I had never read this book and the cover picture was so intriguing that I just had to get a copy.  Amazon here I come!  Well I read it last night, and I must say it was such a delightful story with wonderful drawings throughout the book.

Is this sweet little mouse going to be lunch for the robins?  Or are the robins lowering the branch so that Tucker (the mouse) can grab a hold of it?  You'll have to read the book to find out.  (You never really get too old to read children's books.)

By suppertime, I wasn't sure what I might cook up, but then I remembered the pizza I had in the freezer.  So, yup, that's what I had.  Spinach pizza.  Yum, yum!  I was good and only ate two of the three slices.  I'll have the remaining slice for lunch today.

After supper, Pogo curled up on a blanket near me on the sofa and had himself a nap while I was reading the book.  I just couldn't help taking another photo of him sleeping.  He's just a tiny bundle of precious.

When I finished reading the book, I decided to go meet up with the Sandman too.  A perfect ending for a very good day.  Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I hope Sassy will get medications that will help her. My Chihuahua/Terrier/Corgi is jumping up less now and I think it may be arthritis, he is about 8. Your dogs are so cute and the book looks goods. I have heard of that illustrator before.

So sorry to hear about Sassy. Yes, small dogs will have problems with arthritis. Queen has it bad and Babs have it too but not as bad as Queen. I did give them pain pills for a while and only sometimes now but they are doing better than they were when they first developed it. It's hard to keep them from laying around on the floor instead of them getting in their sofas. I have a padded dog bed and a blanket so they can lay on it because I've notice how babs is walking when she get up to walk on the hard floor. I has ceramic tiles and they like the coldness of the floor but it's not good for the Chi. The meds will help her a lot. No matter what, I love my very small dogs. If they don't mind you (in which mine don't) you can just pick them up and carry them where you want them to go. (lol) My son tell me I have them spoiled rotten. They will never get hit. They have feelings too. I'll pick them up and hug them. He has them spoiled too. They crawl all over him when he walk in the door. If you see any misspelled or missing words, my keyboard is not working too good. I will probably have to buy another one very soon. I hope you and Pogo have a good day.

I hope the sweet little darling Sassy starts feeling better soon - it is so hard to watch our pets in pain when there is nothing we can do.

Awww Poor Sassy, I hope that the medication is helping her to feel better and I hope that her blood work comes back fine. It is always a worry when our babies are sick or not feeling well and are in pain. Feel Better Soon Sassy!

I wish that we had an Ocean Job Lot here. It sounds like a great store to spend time in and I especially love the part about great prices.
We have a few Big Lots here and they are pretty good for most everything that we need. I don't care for their sheets or bedding tho. They just don't hold up very well but I guess that we can't have it all ha.

Have a fantastic day and I will check in with you later on... Hugs, Beth xxx

I hope Sassy's arthritis eases up. Olga has some achy moments, too, and I think it's the beginning of arthritis. It's not easy being an old dog!

I love that you bought "Tucker's Countryside"! A kid checked it out of the library right after I scanned the cover, so I haven't had a chance to read it myself yet!
