9/19/19 9:19:19

September 19, 2019

Good morning.  Today is another very cool day here.  I guess the warm temps decided to wait another day before gracing us with their warmth.  Did you know that just a while ago we passed a landmark in time?  Yup.  It was 9/19/19 9:19:19.

Well, I did not get to go shopping yesterday.  Dwarf Mikey wasn't feeling so good when he got home from work so he went right to bed.  Not a problem.  There's still plenty of food in the house.  Instead, I busied myself doing goodness knows what.

Just what does "goodness knows what" mean?  Does anyone know?  I know I was busy.  I just can't think of anything that I may have done that was meaningful.  (to someone else of course)  Whatever it was, it took all day to do it.  hahaha.

This morning I've been watching the news on TV.  It just never gets better, does it?  A man kills his wife and says that his girl friend did it, not him.  An autistic child is handcuffed for kicking a school administrator before leaving the school unattended.  Another young man is being accused of terrorism and trying to maybe bring down a plane full of people.

Wouldn't be nice if a story about something happy had to be played for every story about something bad?  It's an interesting thought.  I think we need more good news everyday to show that there are still lots of wonderful folks in this world.

I've been watching the news to follow the news about oil and gas prices.  Pretty soon I'll have to turn on the heat in the house and then the high heating oil prices will begin.  Sadly, the cold weather season seems to last all the way into next May.  That's close to eight months.  Sad!

Ever wonder why we wear the wedding ring on the third finger of the left hand?  Or why we have a best man at a wedding?  Or what makes candles keep lighting after the flame has been blown out?

Doesn't it make you feel smarter having all this extra information?  To be honest, it doesn't make me feel smarter.  I just enjoy reading it.  There's something new to be learned every time I turn the page.

I also want to bring to your attention something very distressing.  Please do not advertise your pets as "free to a good home" because some of those good homes are death sentences to our beautiful pets.  Please call a no kill animal shelter instead.  No animal deserves this horrific treatment.  (image borrowed from the web)

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading, and maybe refresh my cup of coffee.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It's storming here. We're having a tropical depression and lots of high water rescues. Schools are closed, and the ones that are open the office of emergency management is telling the parent to leave your child at school. We have high water everywhere and trees are just falling over. We needed some rain but not this much. (lol) I am not going to make it to the grocery store either nor the bank tomorrow because it's too much water. The pharmacy is closed but I couldn't go and pick up my meds today anyway. We're in chaos here in Southeast Texas.

You're right about all the bad news that is being reported and here is crime city. There's lots of road rage shootings, fires started by disgruntled folks, and the world seem to be going crazy. I stay home as much as I possible can and it's not the idea I doesn't like people because I love good people, then to it's hard to figure out who is for the good and who is not. So I learned to live, laugh, love and treat everyone the same. I've always been a loner and never had too many friends around. I feel good being alone. No drama, or stress. We just have to keep on praying that it doesn't come our way. Trouble doesn't choose who it come in contact with. You have to choose to not try to have contact with trouble. I hope you and Pogo have a great day and enjoy the cool weather.

Why are people so cruel to animals, Like you I wonder why bad news is reported so much more than good news.

We are having a break in our extreme heat, but it is predicted to be short lived, I hope we both have a mild winter, I don't look forward to high energy bills,.
Have a great evening.
Blessings,
Sue

We are finally enjoying the cooler temps but the heat will return. I do love learning new things:) I was aware of the 9/19/19 thingy. The news isn't good but I still watch to see what is happening and what I wish would be happening. Bad people all over the place, just plain mean:( Prayers for our Country! Hugs

I try to plead the 5th! I am shocked at so many who say the craziest things. All this peace and love malarkey for special interest groups but celebrities and others can attack our president and that is fine! A A A C K !

My friend's sister was involved with a rescue group and (she is a retired journalist) and she had to report them for many infractions. It has turned quite ugly but Jene is a smart cookie and she saved all the hate mail, texts and emails that the woman who headed it all up sent her. That will reflect poorly on that organization in a court of law. Trust me the lawyers will pull things off of social media to use in a court of law. Jene also only has rescue pets, cats and dogs. She also cares for their 94 year old mom. I am grateful for the good rescues I know of. I was always suspicious of that one. Pets just need love they do not need human drama!
I hope you stay warm and cozy. HUGS
