Just Four Weeks Till Autumn

August 21, 2019

Good morning.  My goodness, I'm getting a rather late start today.  I have to blame it on the books.  I picked up another book last evening and started to read it.  This one is "Trust Me" by Jayne Ann Krentz.  Well, that took care of that!  I finished the book around four o'clock this morning.

In all fairness, I have to say that I enjoyed the book.  I just have to work on learning how to put the book down for a while.  I've always found this difficult to do.  Maybe that's why I started crocheting so many afghans.  It's not easy to read and crochet at the same time.

Well, yesterday was a pretty good day.  I didn't do a lot, but I did cook a couple things, and I made a couple phone calls.  That's a start, I guess.  I called the Big Brother Big Sister office to find out when they will be making pick ups in my area.  Not for another three weeks.  I don't really want to hang on to the bags that I'm filling, so I may have to load them into my car and take them to the nearest Good Will store.

Today I want to get some cards ready for mailing.  There are birthdays and a wedding coming up.  One of these days I need to make a new list of birthdays and anniversaries.  I'm getting quite forgetful and I really need this list.  I also want to call the VCA this week and make an appointment for Pogo to see the eye doctor.

Today is sort of nice outside.  Sunny, but a bit warm for me.  According to my phone weather app, we have some days with temps in the seventies coming up soon.  That's to be expected seeing as how we are coming to the end of August.  Just four more weeks and it will be Autumn.  What happened to our summer?

Today I have a few photos of some of the birds that visit my yard.  These are the black birds and the mourning doves.

Now I'm going to catch up a bit on blog reading before Deanne gets here.  When she can, she stops by on her way to work and we get to spend some time together.  Plus, this weekend we'll be going back to the Cabaret for another evening of dinner and entertainment.

So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh well, living here is like living in two different states. The southside is flooding and the sun is shining very hot on the northside where I live. I need the water on my plants and grass but I have to use the water hose.

So sorry about Pogo eyes. I hope they get better. That little boy need to continue to see what's going on. I wish I was there to give that baby a big hug. I did a lot of cooking today. I did the fried cabbage with the sausage, corn on the cob and hot wings. You can tell my appetite is back. (lol) I am not eating very much but it's here just in case I want seconds. My son come home today so the days he come home, I will cook a good meal. I am also going to do tea cakes. I hadn't done any in a very long time and my son have been asking me to do some because when he use to go stay with my mother in the summer, she would always bake him tea cakes. I bought every thing I need, I just need to get the motivation to put them together. Hug Pogo for me and you all have a great day.

The mourning doves are so sweet and I love the way the sun shines on the black birds.
Glad you have felt some better. I, too, need a new address book to keep up with birthdays etc. Dollar Tree has some nice ones. I know you look forward to time spent with Deanne. Let us know about Pogo's appt. Enjoy your evening. Thx for sharing about the good book, too.

I wish I could lose myself in a good book. My husband is like you, he reads it until it is finished. He just received another book in the mail yesterday, so I won't see him for a day:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

Oh my goodness, I Love reading too and have done that all night read-a-thon! I read more in the cooler months.
That camera on your previous post, scary stuff. We never know. Someone seems to love to watch the taxpayer.
I have a hard time doing much of anything these days. Dragging my feet because I get so sad about Alastor Avery. I Am glad I had Brody yesterday. Made me laugh out loud so many times.
I love getting cards in the mail and love sending them. I Am way behind on the encouragement group. But I try to keep a handful of cards on hand.
I called my friend Lynette earlier. She has the big 6-5 birthday today! I Am thinking the USPS is late delivering mail as she did not get my card yet.
I may need a nap. The rain made it cooler and the sun is out so we are hearing in the 80's but I am tired of the heat wave.
Praying for a great appointment for Pogo. Take care
HUGS xo
