I'm Home Now!

July 26, 2019

Good morning.  YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!  It is so uplifting to come in here (and in my email) and find such wonderful get well messages.  I never had a chance to feel down in the dumps this whole past week.  Whatever treat you are allowed, have an extra today for being so awesome.  You deserve it!

Yup, I'm home!  And my Pogo is home too!  The doctor came in yesterday morning and said I needed to have more lab work to see if my kidneys were back on track yet.  So, a while later, that very happy lab guy came around to collect more blood.  Ever notice how super cheerful these blood collectors are?

I then ordered my lunch from the room service, and cheerfully planned ahead for my supper.  I was going to have the pasta and meatballs that I had the night before for supper.  It was yum, yum, yummie!  But it was not to be.  The doctor came back around 4 p.m. and said that my tests all looked good and I would be on my way home around 5 p.m.

Bottom line, after all the tests were done, my heart and my kidneys are doing fine.  I do have to make some adjustments to my salt and fluid intake.  No problem, I don't use or add salt to my food anyway.  I do have to be more aware of the salt that is already included in food.  Plus, my heart doctor said that I am allowed one cup of coffee a day.  He said that everyone deserves to have their morning cup of java.

Last night I had trouble sleeping so I got up and updated some bookkeeping, and paid some bills.  Now I'm just waiting for the mail carrier to put the bills in the mail.  Next I did a Find A Word puzzle.  By then, my eyes were finally closing.

This morning, on the news, a question was being put out to the public about changing the date of Halloween to the last Saturday in October.  Supposedly to make it safer for children to go out and do their "trick or treating."  I believe it is really to make the holiday more convenient for a lot of adults.

Folks, Halloween is October 31.  Learn to deal with it!  It's not just a holiday for kids to go out and collect candy!  What's to stop lawmakers to change New Years to a Sunday?   When will people stop trying to change our customs to suit the needs of a few?

Today I have a cute tomato image to share.  This is to celebrate my little green tomato.

I also have another photo of that cute little squirrel that I showed here yesterday.

I can't forget to post a new photo of my beautiful red Knock Out roses.  Such a cheerful sight to come home to.

Well, Jazzy and Krissy and Bob are on their way to New York.  Tonight is the big night of the West Point Military Academy Ball.  Krissy and Bob are Cole's parents.  (Cole is Jazzy's date)    Krissy has promised to take photos of Jazzy before she leaves for the ball, and will order some professional photos of both Jazzy and Cole.  I can't wait to see these photos!

Now I'm going to rest for a while before putting a load of laundry into the washer.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Congratulations for being a stepper and coming home to enjoy the beautiful flowers and take care of Pogo. I always say, I got things to do and places to go so I doesn't have time for any illness. You are like me, so much like me. (lol) I'll take that back, I am so much like you. (lol) You were here before me. I think as long as anyone keep a positive attitude about most anything, things will always be looking up instead of downward. You will be planting another tomato in the Spring and I think I might be able to do my fall garden. I took that back that I won't be planting a fall garden. My son cut all the weeds with the weed eater and all it need now is the tiller to break up the soil and I will take a rake and get the grass roots out and plant again. (laughing) Keep up the good work, rest and stay focus. Hope you and Pogo have a good weekend. God do answer prayers.

I am SO thankful that you are home and having some sweet time with Pogo! I also don't add any salt to my food because there is already lots of salt in the foods we buy. I pray that each day will get you back to great health. Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!

Hi,
I know all about not sleeping. Even tho I said I was going to bed early which I did it was my eyes that didn't want to sleep lol. So I got up and worked on my laptop for a bit and finally was able to sleep.

I know that this trip to New York is going to be exciting for Jazzie. Not every young lady can lay claim going to the Military Ball at West Point. What a wonderful time they will have. I am just sorry that DeeDee couldn't go as well.

I love your photos of the squirrel and flower. That red is so bright. Remember that lone flower that survived in my front yard? It is really pretty now. It had 5 blooms on it yesterday. Some are fading. Anyway I found out the name of it. It is a Zinnia. I want to plant a lot of those, they are just so very pretty!

I am so very glad you and Pogo are home. I hope you regain your strength soon. Take a tip from Pogo's play book... Nap Often hee hee. Love, Beth xxx

Hi Edna, So glad you are home and I bet Pogo is also! I didn't check in yesterday as I was judging photography at the Monroe County Fair in Tomah, WI about an hour away. It was about 5 hours and then driving back and forth but it is so much fun to do. I have judged about 6 out of the last 8 years. Stay healthy now and don't make your friend come to see you! Mary Ann

So glad you are home and that your tests came out OK. Now behave yourself and do what the doctors say. It is so easy to miss the salt in things. I have the same restrictions you do so I know. Take care and don't do too much. Take things easy for awhile. Can't wait to see the pictures of Jazzy.

Hi Edna,
I was glad to read that you're now home. There's no place like home especially when once doesn't feel well. My husband also has CHF from a heart attack he had about 3 years ago. He is on Lasix 2 times a day to keep the fluid at bay and sometimes he has to wear support socks to redistribute the fluid in his lower legs and feet when it starts to fill up. He also does not eat salt and I make sure to keep an eye on the salt content in foods I buy.. God they put salt in EVERYTHING.. It's a delicate balance but it can be achieved by trial and error. I hope you get to feeling better and more like yourself soon. XO

I usually stop by your blog just before I post on my own blog so I haven't been to "see you" for a few days. So sorry to hear what you have been going through but relieved to read that you are home and feeling much better.

Lots of luv Chris

WELCOME BACK HOME!
Gosh Edna, as you might know I don;t spend a lot of time at the computer, certainly not reading blogs every day anynmore, And it shows I should do that again.
Oh dear friend, I got such a terrible shock today, when i read your blog and found out about your hospilization! I feel soooo bad not being there when you needed some real support!
I am delighted to have read that all together things weren;t as bad as they could have been. Now you "only"have to take more care of yourself LOL.
No, without any jokes, it must have been a shock for you and to your daughters that you needed to go to hospital. But thank God you didn;t need an operation for a stent and your kidneys seem to work quite fine too and your bloospressure is down somewhat too.
Now hopefully the breathing will go better too!
And yes, you will need to do more of what the doctors tell you!!!
The salt business is sometimes hard, but you seem already to use very little so keep doing that. And if you need a bit of salt, you should use one that is low of sodium. I use for us(specially for Jan) one that is called LOW SALT, with around 60% less of sodium in it, enri ched with iodine. I don;t know if you have smething like it in the USA but I cannot imagine there isn;t. Perhaps worth a try to look for it?
And yes, there is so much salt in ready made products, sometimes you just cannot believe it! So that will be your task now to check, I guess. Can make a lot of difference.
Sweet of your doctor that he allows you at least one cup of coffee! Totally without would be very hard.
Oh, poor Pogo. He didn;t understand anything about all the things going on, but certainly missed you. Suddenly you weren;t there and he had to go to another house for a while. I am sure he is delighted to have you home again.
Now sweet Edna, try to take good care of yourself, ask for help when needed and even when not really needed.
I promise to check on your blog more often, this cannot happen anymore(me not knowing you are having bad times etc. I mean).
Take it easy, recover from this and rest a lot.
Big hug from over the ocean.
Kyra
