Americana Is Apple Pie

July 5, 2019

Good morning.  Tis another beautiful summer day here in New England.  It's sunny and warm.  Temps are in the eighties and will hit ninety before too long.  I've already been out in the yard taking photos of the birds enjoying the feast in my Mulberry Tree.  I shall share some of those photos tomorrow.

Yesterday, Deanne and Eddie came by and brought me an apple pie.  As soon as my supper was finished, I dug right into that pie.  Yum, yum, yum!  (That's all I ate of it.)

When they went home, Bobhy, Amber and the kids joined them for a cookout and some time in the pool.  Here's Bobby and his family enjoying the coolness of the pool.

Yesterday the gutter fellows were here at 8 a.m. and worked till 3:30 p.m.  They promised to be back this morning to finish up.  And they were here before 7:30 this morning.  My gutters are looking really great.  These fellows are doing a fabulous job.

I do have some more photos to share of the blossoms on the other side of the house.  Every day, different buds pop open.

These were all taken in that one little area shown in the first photo.  As soon as some more blossom, I'll take more photos.  I checked my tomato plant and I think (only think) that I just might have a tiny bud that might be a flower soon.  Now won't that be a nice surprise.

There were fireworks galore last night.  Thankfully, none of them were loud enough to bother Pogo.  I do, however, feel bad for all the other animals in the neighborhood.  Some folks just don't care who they hurt so long as they can have their fun.

Shortly, I'm going to take my water and my little laptop and head for the porch.  My Portal is all set up out there and I want to call Audrey and chat with her and my great granddaughter Alena.  Pogo is itching to get out there too.

I'm hoping to see my hummingbirds back today now that the gutters are done on that side of the house.  They don't come out when there are folks walking around in the yard near the feeder.

Now I have to call Town Hall to find out when and how I get rid of all the bags of lawn and brush clippings.  Our little shed is full.  We may have to get special stickers so that we can dump them somewhere.

That's my news for this morning.  Now I'm taking my phone and heading for the porch.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I watched the fireworks on television from the celebration they had downtown, but there were lots of fireworks going on in the neighborhood. I couldn't hear them too well because of the house being built for noise protection from Bush airport. My fur babies would just howl every now and then but they were okay. No, these people don't care who or what they hurt. Our fireworks are including firearms and shooting our children or rather babies. This week was deadly for this 2 year old boy. The robbers just walked up and shot this baby. Last night there was a road rage and this person shot in a car and exploded fireworks on this family and there's a child again fighting for life in the hospital. Something drastic need to be done with our city. Just within a few months four or more babies have been killed. I try to stay home with doors locked. I say doors locked because this little boy was at home but in the garage with his father and the robbers invaded their home. This was happening in a neighborhood next door to where I live and this is suppose to be very country. But now, no where is safe. Hope you and Pogo have a great day.

Sounds like you are getting a lot done around there. Sometimes it is frustrating, but you will enjoy when it is done.

Hi,
We have brush pick up here once a week and for big brush we have it come twice a year. If we have other garbage we have to get special stickers to attach to our garbage bags for $4.00 each or they will charge you $10.95 per bag. I would much rather pay the cheaper charge!

What beautiful flowers that you have. Your yard is very pretty and so nice to be able to see such bright colors.

Lunch time for me. My lunch is in the oven so I will chat with you later on. Hugs, Beth

When we have pruning stuff and so on we can bundle the branches(not longer than about a mtr) and put e.g. the small prunings and grass and such things in open plastic bags and call the council and make an appointment that they pick it up on a certain day. Then we can put it outside on the border or the boardwalk at 22.00 evening before and then they pick it up next day. And they do it with no charge. Or we have places where you can bring it yourself if you have transport. But as we haven't the 1st option is great.
The guys who place the gutters really have to suffer in that heat! I also pity all the people who have to work outside in those circumstances. best we can do(if they work on the house offer them every now and then something to drink.
It will be a lot of moeny those gutters b ut when done you will be happy and can let them be for some time again.
You are right to say to Bobby to stay at home. He can do the things in the yard when it will be a bit cooler.
Well, I have to make my post on my blog now.
Wishing you some lovely times at the porch as long as temperature alllows you.
Stay safe and be a good girl(whatever it may be, ROFL)(I suppose not too much buying from the shopping channel, hahahaha)
Big hug
Kyra
