The Summer Heat Is Here

June 27, 2019

Good morning.  The sun is shining, there's a teeny tiny breeze, and the temps are working their way up to the low nineties by early afternoon.  Today will be a scorcher.

Yesterday, Pogo and I went shopping and we had a wonderful time.  He is such a good little guy, and folks love him.  He sits quietly in the basket and looks at everything.  Every now and then, someone stops to pet him, so he's in his glory.

I got some bird seed, and a new wind chime.  This one is a humming bird.  I'll have to take a photo of it to share.  When the wind blows, my porch is filled with tinkling music. Between that and all the dancing solar thingees, my little porch is a happy place.  Pogo and I are heading out there as soon as I finish this post.

Today I thought I would share a photo of my gorgeous (?) tomato plants.  I'm expecting maybe a tomato by September.   I have another tomato plant, but it is only about four inches tall.

I think this will be the last year that I try to grow any veggies.  I should probably stick to flowers.  I have a better chance of having something growing to its full size.  I'm talking about potted plants.  I don't seem to have much luck with seeds.

I'm going to check the schedule at the local college to see if they will be having any classes on digital photography and Photoshop.  If they do, I'd like to take a class.  I figure it will be a good way to learn how to use the new Photoshop cloud on my new laptop.  Meanwhile, I'll just plod along with my self help book.

Today I have two more Dover coloring sheets for you.  These feature bees and butterflies, rather appropriate for this time of year.  Have fun with them.

That's about all my news for today.  I think Pogo and I are going to sit out on the porch for a while before it gets too hot.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I think next year gardening will be better than this year because last Spring garden for me was great. This year was a total disaster. Now I am looking at the weeds taking over my garden spot and it's taking the motivation out of me for doing a fall garden. The weeds have to be cut, so I guess I will still be doing my garden. I have a tiller which helps out a lot. Don't give up unless it's something that make you not motivated. Our crops might be great next year. (lol) I am thinking I have expanded my garden too much and now it's getting too big. I just enjoy giving fresh veggies to others. But it's getting hard now to keep up with. I am more fatigued than I was when I first started gardening.

I know Pogo did enjoy shopping and being petted. My fur babies love for someone to rub their tummies. Hope you and Pogo have a great day.

Good Morning,
Thank you for the Dover color pages. I need to set up a new account with Dover. When I signed up I was using Yahoo email and I finally stopped using it. The ads were so bad that they made it impossible for me to even read my email. So I really need to go and update my Dover Account.

It is 10:30 am and already 90 degrees. Enjoy your day and stay cool. I used to love doing my grocery shopping early mornings while it was cool. Not so much cool to be found here as of late.

Have an awesome day... xx Beth

Oh, Edna, I know what you mean about growing veggies. I try but never have any luck with them. Especially with all the animals running around outside that eat them! It is hot here too. Another two days before it cools off some. But it's better than 2 feet of snow! Enjoy your day.
