Laptop Woes

June 18, 2019

Good morning.  It's early, only 5:50 a.m. and gray outside.  My weather app says the rain will start again in a couple hours and continue on most of the day.  I did not get to go grocery shopping yesterday, so today might be a good day to do it.

Yesterday, I spent most of the day trying to fix my laptop.  I had been trying to order my blog book, and could not get into the site to do this.  The folks there said that it was because of Explorer.  They did not use it.  I would need to switch to Foxfire or Chrome.

So, I switched over to Foxfire and tried again to order my book.  I still could not get into the site.  I uninstalled Foxfire, and then re-installed it.  I got the same results.  This left me no choice - install Chrome.

I called my daughter Audrey, and she helped me to download Chrome.  I'd like to say this solved all my problems, but it did not.  I still could not get into the site to order my book.  Instead, I kept getting a message that I was missing an important file in my computer.  I don't know anything about the inner workings of this laptop, so I went to Google and looked it up.

Google said that I needed to download a fix it program, so I did.  It scanned my laptop and came up with a list of things that needed to be fixed.  But it would only fix them if I bought the program.  So I bought it.  Once it was downloaded, it went about doing its thing for a while.

After all was said and done, my day was shot.  Then I got a look at my desktop, and oh my, what a shock!  All my icons were moved arouind and they were bigger and some were missing.  It took a while to make some sense out of all of this.  Needless to say, I was not in a very good mood by now.

With all of this happening, I never did get to order my book.  I'll try again in a little while.  Please, please let it go alright.  I am so fed up with these computers.  Everything on my laptop is different and I don't know how to get it back to looking like it did before.

Last night, I was reading an article in my AMAC magazine about different types of voter fraud.  It was real interesting to realize the different types of voter fraud.  I especially was interested in the one about fraudulent use of Absentee Ballots.

At the 2012 voting polls, I noticed that an Absentee Ballot had been sent to someone listed with my address although that person did not live at my house.  When I asked about it, I was told that they could not remove that person from my address until that person gave them a change of address in writing.  They would not tell me where they mailed the Ballot.  It certainly was not mailed to my address.  When I get a chance, I'd like to follow up on this to see if this is still happening.

I found an image on the web that I just had to borrow and share here.  It explains why my diets never work.  (at least I think it does!)

Hmmm, I rather like my snacks, and this takes all the fun out of enjoying them.  Oh, I'll still have them.  I'll just force myself to enjoy them!  hahaha.

Here's another picture that I found on the web.  This one tells it like it is.  You grow old when you stop laughing and enjoying each day as it comes.

That's about it for my news for today.  I want to try to order my Blog book before I do anything else.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh my, don't never download scanning software. They will always show how bad your files are and then to clean it, they want money. What's happening is, these people are fixing their website just to use the browser of their choice instead of being able to use any browser. My HOA website is using Microsoft edge. I doesn't use edge and don't like it, so I am not browsing their website. When some stop making money then they will fix their website to correspond with all browsers. I think it's something wrong with their website and not your browser. I am so sorry you are going through all the problems. I just told Brylane Home off about their website change and told them I won't be ordering anything else for the reason of all the bad changes they have made to their website. When you are browsing they are throwing advertisement in your face and your information on your account is not always available. It's such a mess. Have a great day and I hope you can find someone else to do your blog books.

Oh my, I can imagine how you felt after not being able to order the blobook, then installing two other browsers and still not being able. Then download AND buy that fixing program and it messing up your laptop. I am always very suspicious about programs that should fix all, after you bought it. I hope it will work.
Strange you cannot get through to the website of the blogbook, I normally have not much problems with Firefox.
(I have Chrome too, but I don;t like using it, I just have it in case)
Crossing my fingers you will get it all in order. Computer stuff that doesn;t work, makes me nervous and gets me into bad mood too!
Hope your day will still be not tooo bad and tomorrow lots better.

That is the reason I have not gotten a W10. I hear it is not an easy computer to use. Guess I will not have one when this W7 goes out on me.

I hope you solve your book problem. To get your files back to where they were do a system restore. Restore your computer to before you downloaded that program. Once you do that try to again order your book with google chrome. If you get that missing file message again write down every thing it says and then google the message it gives you. It's a pain in the you know what but you might get some answers in a forum when you goggle it. Hope this helps.
