It's National Children's Day

June 9, 2019

Good morning.  Tis a beautiful day here in New England, with lots of sun and temps in the sixties.  In a few hours temps will be in the mid eighties.  Today will be a great day for families to get out and celebrate their children.  It's National Children's Day.

Our children are our future.  None of us parents is/was perfect, but we all hope that we're able to give our children enough of the qualities that make them successful, well adjusted adults.  As parents, we can only do our best.  There are no instruction manuals for parenting.  It's a "learn as you go" type of job.

Whether we become parents while we are young or when we are older, we all get to learn and grow with our children,  I wonder if this is why a lot of us remain children in our hearts even in our senior years.  Life is a learning process from the day we enter this world until the day we leave it.  Our children are gifts and they help us to grow while we learn.

Okay, now it's time for some fun photos.  A couple days ago, I noticed that some of the birds and squirrels were acting rather feisty with each other.  Oh my, I finally realized that love was in the air for some of the birds and small critters.  Here are two of the squirrels.

While these two were busy pursuing each other, two little sparrows were doing their mating dance.  No, I did not get any photos of them.  There's also a hummingbird family somewhere in the yard that never ceases to amuse me.  I have their feeder filled with sugar water, and love watching these beautiful tiny birds as they come flitting by for a sip.  It's easy to see why I love being out on my little porch.

Today I'm waiting for a delivery of a new book that I ordered.  Sometime during the week, a couple Christmas gifts will also arrive in the mail.  I'm having fun with my holiday shopping and it's not even summer.  (almost, but not quite)

Today I have a new quick page for you.  This one celebrates the sunny, sultry days at the beach.  Have fun with it.

Now I'm going to gather up my crocheting and a fresh cup of coffee and head for the porch.  Pogo is already at the door waiting for me.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
