Cherry Pink And Gorgeous

May 10, 2019

Good morning.  Today is rather overcast with temps in the high fifties.  We're supposed to be getting rain here shortly, probably around noon.  I'm just waiting for the mail to get here and then Pogo and I have to go out to mail a package and maybe do a couple other errands.

The slide show at the top of my blog isn't working today so that means that I'm typing this on my old laptop.  I haven't given up on the new one, but I have a couple issues to work out on it.  If I can get up early enough tomorrow I can take a trip to the Library.  If not, maybe Tuesday.  Either way, I'll try to post Sunday with the new laptop.

I had so much to do yesterday, but only got to do a few things.  I guess my mind is getting old like me because I forgot about some things, remembered other things a bit late.  I wanted to make a pie, and I wanted to go to the Post Office.  I did neither.  However, I did write out a whole batch of bills to put in the mail this morning.

Today I''m going to share some photos that I took of my Blossoming Cherry tree.  It gets prettier every year.  It's such a pleasure to look out the window and see all these gorgeous blossoms.

As I look out my door, it definitely looks like rain is coming.  Not to worry, I'm not really complaining.  Folks all around the country are having worse weather than we are.  I just can't remember a time in my life when there was so much destructive weather as there is now.  Floods and tornadoes seem to be the norm now.  It wasn't like that during all my growing up years.

I was hoping to put my new tomato plants out today, but I'm not sure if I should.  We still have some cold weather headed our way.  Forecast calls for temps in the high thirties and low forties at night from Sunday through Thursday.

I was also hoping to have my porch screen covers off by now.   I really didn't want to have to wait until June to open up the porch.  I miss being able to sit out there with my morning coffee.  I'm sure Pogo misses it too.

We have a substitue mail carrier today, so the mail is really late.  We probably won't head out to do our errands until lunch time.  Well, that's okay too.  As long as we mail the box, we're all set.

Now I'm going to watch "America Says", and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

We are having lots of rain and street flooding here. The neighborhood down the road from me got drenched in their homes. They are tearing down and rebuilding again. This is a neighborhood that has always thought they were better than other as far as wealth, etc....but now look at them. I am not rejoiced on what's happening but one shouldn't never let money and material things define who they really are. God is in control of it all and if you get too far ahead of yourself, he will let Satan come in on you. My niece lived there before she passed away and I've heard that her husband either sold or lost the home. I know he is married again now, so he probably wanted to get another new start.

My tomatoes are loaded with tomatoes and now I am eating green beans and hopefully I will be eating squash soon. My cucumbers are blooming and soon I will have lots of them. I think I planted my mustard greens too thick because they didn't grow like they did last year and now they are seeding. It's time to pull them up and use them for compost. My collard greens expanded too much and I've been giving those away to whomever want them. After talking to some of the neighbors I found out they don't eat fresh veggies. I wanted to ask, what do you eat to keep you alive. (lol) I assume hot dogs and hamburgers. Vegetables is always a part of my daily meal. But that is how I grew up and that's how I raised my son on a balance well cooked meal. If I doesn't cook everyday, I still have leftover veggies to eat on those days. Hope you get your tomatoes planted soon. Have a great day

What a gorgeous cherry tree! There are a few near the church I go to and I just love looking at them. You reminded me that I want to get at least one tomato plant. There is nothing as good as a freshly picked tomato. Hope you get your new computer up and running.

What gorgeous cherry blossoms blossoms. I just love that pink.

I will give you a call tomorrow afternoon. That is if the rain doesn't flood us out.

Don't plant the tomatoes just yet. Those cold temps will freeze them. Hugs, Beth

The thing that helped me the most in Windows 10 is knowing clicking on the folder on the task bar takes you to everything on the computer. I hope this helps you.

Love your cherry tree! We had a beautiful blooming chokecherry tree and when we discovered plumbing woes it had to be removed. Still miss it as it was not a dirty tree with nasty needles everywhere like the pine trees in the backyard.
You are such a creative soul! Love all your beautiful shares.
Thank you and have a great new week as well. xo
