Nature and Animals Are Beautiful. Take Care Of Them.

February 26, 2019

Good morning.  The forecast for today is sunny with temps in the upper twenties.  It is now 22F degrees.  We have a wind advisory until 5 p.m. today.  I wonder what that means?  The wind blew like crazy all day yesterday and last night, and that was while we had severe storm warnings.

I can't spend a lot of time on my laptop today because I still have so much to do.  I got a call last evening from WalMart to let me know that the Shingles shot was available and did I still want it.  Of course I said yes!  So I need to go by there in the next couple of days to get my shot.  I was lucky with my bout with Shingles, but I may not be as lucky should I get it again.

Today I'm going to share some photos that my SIL Mac took at his recent visit to an aquarium in Japan.  There are quite a few photos, so I'll share a few each day.

You know, we have a fabulous Aquarium here in Boston, and shame on me but I've never even visited it.  One of these days I'll have to go there.

This morning I watched a program on Animal Rescue about how a dying sea turtle was rescued.  The turtle had been hit by boat propellers and a large chunk of its shell was torn out.  The shell had two different types of infections, and it did not look as though the turtle would survive.  However, after almost two years of medical care, surgeries and loving care, the turtle was finally well enough to be released back into the ocean.

Right now, the rescue team is trying to rescue a pair of rare baby Blue Hyacinth Parrots that are stuck in mud.  The rains had gotten into their nest in a tree trunk and created lots of thick mud at the bottom of the nest.  Sadly, the babies were stuck in this mud and were dying.  The rescue team got the babies out of the muddy nest and took them back to heir clinic to see what they could do to keep them alive.  These birds are on the endangered species list.

The rescue team then went back to the forest to the tree nest where these birds came from, and they filled in the bottom of the nest  (inside the tree).  They fixed it so that any more rain getting in would not make mud and hurt the babies.  Once the babies were well enough to be returned to their nest, the rescue team took them back to the forest and placed them in the nest.  In a very short while, the parent parrots flew back to the nest to check out their babies.

I love this type of program.  As humans, we need to take care of our animals.  We need them and they need us.  Oh wow, now the rescue team is trying to save a dog caught in a canal from drowning.  The dog cannot get out of the water.  The dog realizes that the men are trying to help, and together they are able to rescue this beautiful dog.  Programs like this make my heart very happy.

Gosh, I've been gabbier than I meant to be.  Before I go let me share this funny story that I found on the web.

I hope starts your day off with a chuckle.  Now I must get going or I won't get anything done.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
