Here Ducky Ducky!

December 7, 2018

Good afternoon.   Tis sunny and cold again today, but Pogo and I braved the cold this morning and went out to take Jazzy to the college.  After that, we headed for the kitty shelter.   Oh my, what a treat we were in for.  When we got there, we found the whole back yard filled with hundreds of ducks.

Oh my, they were all so beautiful.  It seems that this wonderful lady, Lillian, and her hubby feed all the ducks from the nearby pond all during the cold weather.  How awesome is that!  I took a couple videos of the ducks,   Here is one of the videos showing all the ducks.  They've all come for their lunch.

The new CD that I bought came yesterday.  Here's the song that I bought it for.   It's called "My Wife."  I hope you enjoy it.  This is from Youtube.

Yesterday, Deanne came by after work and did a whole batch of wrapping for me.  Wowsie!   There's still a lot to go, but she made a huge dent in it.   Today I think I'll try to get all the wrapped items into mailing boxes.  Maybe I can even mail a few of them out by the first of the week.  Woo Hoo!

The burner guy came by yesterday and fixed the problem with the furnace.  However, he also discovered a new problem.  Oh no!  It's a BIGGIE.  It seems that somewhere in the house there is a pipe, or pipes, leaking down through the floors and into the basement.  So right away he started checking rooms to find the leaks.  He found it right away.

Sadly, the nozzle on the radiator in the room that dwarf Helen has recently vacated had been broken off.  It had to have happened the night she moved out because there was no leak before that.  Because the room was closed, we did not spot the leak.  The floor was flooded with water, both large rugs were soaked, and the water was running to the (closed) fireplace and down into the basement.

The burner guy fixed the leak, and later Joe cleaned up the mess when he got home from work.  Unfortunately, I also learned that I will have to be replacing a lot of the plumbing in the basement.  Aye yi, yi!   So now I'm waiting for the owner of the company to call me for an appointment to come over and give me an estimate.  Then I can try to figure out how to afford it.  Yup, when it rains, it pours!

Now it's time to make some lunch for Pogo and me.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

On one of your post I think I scrolled too far down and put the comment on the day before. (lol) I am not feeling well and finally left home to go to the grocery store yesterday. I hadn't left home in 2 weeks. Thanks for the pogo Christmas card. I am not sure when it came because our mailboxes are in a cluster on another street and I wait for my son to go by and pick up the mail. I showed him Pogo and the squirrel. It is so cute. I doesn't see how you can deal with tenants. (lol) It seem as if they don't care about tearing up things. My neighbor have a rental property and he was telling me about this lady tenant was so angry because they evicted her that she was threatening to come over to his home and do something to him. He was letting me know if I saw anyone strange on his property to call the authorities. I also see the uncaring of the tenants in the rent house next door. The HOA had to fine the landlord because of the nasty junk they had in the back yard and not cutting either the front or the back yard grass. Take care and things will get better with time. Have a great evening

There's always something when you own a house. Hope all your plumbing isn't too expensive. What a job! Love the video of the ducks. Wow, there are so many of them!

First a VERY belated happy Birthday to Audrey. I just happened to read it today, all week I didn;t go blogreading. Sorry!
Cute little guy, your Pogo, to wake you up for letting you know he had peeing problems. Oh, poor fellow, he always tries to do his best, but of course sometimes it can go wrong.
As well as in the car lately. Great that you have such good help of Joe with many things.
The trouble with the leaking pipes is not amusing at all. Hopefully the costs for replacement will not be too scary!
I think you did a good dead for the kitty shelter. Those places often have already difficulty with financing it and now they also had trouble because of flooding and all and now the rebuilding. I bet they were happy with you donation.
Must have been wonderful to see that backyeard full of ducks coming over to have a meal!!! The people running this shelter are wonderful people.
Okay, have to go to my blog for a short post.
Have a wonderful day and fantastic week.
Hugs
Kyra
