Saying Farewell To August

August 31, 2018

Good morning.  Today is looking to be a gorgeous day here in New England.  Lots of sunshine and temps in the seventies topped off with a really nice breeze.  It is supposed to be like this tomorrow too.  Awesome!

Have you noticed today's date?  Yup, another whole month gone by.  Would you believe there are only four more months left in this year?  Wow, the older I get, the faster time goes by.  Now the busy season starts.  There's a card and a calendar to design, projects to finish, and three holidays to prepare for.  And the bulk of this all has to be done in only three months.

Yesterday I thought I might get a lot done here, but it was not meant to to be.  Instead, it was a restful day.  I paid a batch of bills, made some important phone calls and a few other things.  That was my limit for the day.

The first thing I'll do today is a couple loads of laundry.  One for my clothes, and another for Pogo's blankets.  If I haven't run out of steam after that, I'll put in a load of towels.  Last night I started a new dolly dress in Lavender, so tonight I'll probably work on that.

This week, my cousin Ellen had a birthday.  I wanted to go visit with her this week, but I just did not have a chance, so today I'll call her and we'll visit via the phone.   Here's a photo of Ellen with one of her great grandbabies.  Happy Birthday Ellen.  I hope your big day was awesome!

I also thought I might share photos of some of my great grandchildren.  In this first photo, Jack Jack, Lilah and Alima are staying cool and enjoying the last week before school starts.

In this photo, Xander and Aurora are looking quite cool as they enjoy their lunch.

Yesterday's mail brought a few new catalogues.  One of them has the neatest tee shirts!  This is one of them.  It's for all us folks who continue to diet every now and then.

Hahahaha!  I've given up on dieting though.  After looking back on all the women in my mother's family, I'm about the right size for me to fit right in.  This body has worked hard all these years, and it has given me five beautiful children.  It still works hard to keep me and Pogo going.  Somehow, skinny just doesn't seem to be very important anymore.

Well, I've finished my coffee, and now I want to do a bit of blog reading before I go looking for some mischief to get into.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay cool and have a fantabulous weekend.  See you in September!

Hugs, Edna B.

At some point in our lives, how we look is not so important. Having good health is what it is all about.

Wonderful that the two guys who brought the fridges knew what they were doing and did it allright! Must be a relief for you that that is done now. Sweet of Deanne to come over to help you.
Oh, of course a happy belated birthday wish to Kevin, which is indeed a fine young man!
Don;t worry too much about a diet. Just try to eat as healthy as you can, that is more important, and that keeps you hopefully healthy enough to have a lot more years of doing all kind of things you like to do.
That grey yarn looks beautiful. I like afghans in grey.white, sometimes a bit of black, because they turn up rather neutral and fit with a lot of furniture and so.
But.... some colour sometimes is nice too, of course. hard to choose with so much variety in the yarns.
Gosh I though we had and expensive co-pay for our medicins, but you have a lot more to pay. We pay of course each month for healtch security and then we have to pay a co-pay for medicins to a certain amount, which isn;t all too high, but for a lot of people very difficult to pay. And then knowing that a lot of medicins are much cheaper in other countries.
nbelievable but true( and thse are the same ones, not "lighter" versions or so).
It is hard to fight against the big medicin producing companies, they have about all the power in hand.
Good, I will finish rambling now, before we get all sad and depressed LOL.
On to my blog for a little post.
Have a lovely week, dear friend, stay safe.
