A Graduation And A New Car - Woo Hoo!

June 1, 2018

Good morning, and oh what a wonderful morning it is!  The weather is nice, temps in the seventies with a bit of a breeze.  The sun pops in and out, and the porch is calling out to me and Pogo.  It's also the beginning of a brand new month.  Happy June!  Here's the June page from my calendar.

Gosh, this is an exciting week for us.  Jazzy's senior prom was a few days ago, and tomorrow she graduates from high school.  Lordy, how the time has flown by.  The school colors are red and black, and Jazzy is wearing the red gown.  Here's her graduation photo.  Contratulations Jasmine.  I'm so very proud of you.

A couple days ago, Deanne stopped by and gave me more good news.  Kevin works hard as an electrician, goes to school and saves his money.  This week he went out and bought himself a brand new car.  Wowsie!  Congratulations Kevin.  I wish you much happiness and good luck with your new car.  Here's a photo of Kevin with his new car.

Gosh, be still my little heart!  How much more good news can I stand?  Well, let's see.  Jazzy's high school has been nominated for quite a lot of the awards for the Spring musical drama.  My plants are doing really well in the greenhouse, and Pogo and I wake up every morning eager to start another day.

Speaking of my handsome Pogo.  I have a new photo that I took yesterday while we were sitting out on the porch.  He was in the chair next to me, and he looked up just as I touched the shutter button on my phone.  Woo Hoo!  Now isn't this just the cutest little fellow around?

Yesterday, the new sale flyer for Ocean State Job Lot came in the mail.  I noticed it had an interesting new fan on sale.  This one had dual controls, three speeds and a thermostat.  And it was only $32.  It's time to put the air conditioner in the window, but I'm hesitant to do it.  The window is right behind my lounge chair, and if I'm in the chair, I can't run the A/C.

So, I'm thinking that maybe this fan might be just what I'm looking for.  It won't bother me to run it while I'm in my lounge chair, and it has a thermostat so I can set it for a cool temperature.  Well, at least that's what I'm thinking.  I gave some money to Joe and he went to the store and got me the fan.  Today I'm going to try putting it in the window.  I'll let you know how it works out.  Here's a photo of the fan.

I also ripped a nice little hole in my hand yesterday trying to get my porch door to shut tight.  I have an electric cord running out there in case I need it.  Unfortunately, it prevents the door from shutting tightly at the bottom corner.  So I gave the doorknob a good tug, and ouch!  The knob came off in my hand and there was a big cut near the knuckle on my index finger.

I cleaned and covered my cut, and waited for Joe to come back from the store.  I showed him the knob and asked if he could put a new knob on the door if I bought one.  After checking the knob and the door, he said that it was not broken.  With the right amount of pressure, the knob can be pulled out of the door.  After fiddling with the knob for a bit, Joe fixed it.  Phew!  It looks like I'm an accident waiting to happen!

Today I think I'll try to carry another bag full of "toss and throw" stuff out to the recycle bin, then I'll take my little laptop out to the porch and maybe make some new quick pages.  Yup, that sounds like a good plan.  First, I want to do a bit of blog reading.  On that happy note, I'll take my leave.

So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
Congratulations are in order for Both Jasmine and Kevin. I know that your very proud of them both. They are certainly wonderful and bright kids with a great future ahead of them.

Love the little fan. It is always nice to have a cool breeze now and then. Ohhh sorry that you cut your hand but glad Joe fixed your door knob. It would be worrisome if it couldn't be fixed right away.

Mister Pogo is really a very handsome guy and I think that he is aware that he is the cat's Meow... You did get a great picture of him... Our handsome little boy.

Going to go to bed. It's been a long day for me... Hugs my friend and give Pogo "Woof's for me... night nite… xxxxx

You had a quite nice week with lots of wonderful news and things!
LOVE the car of Kevin. Beautiful colour! And congrats to Jazzy!
Both kids are really growing up now, isn;t it? And you have all to be proud of them!
Isn;t there a possibility for the elctric wire to peep via the floor to the outside, in a kind of little gap under the door so that you can shut the door properly?
May be Joe or Eddie could look to it?
I am glad your tomatoes and peppers do well. Our tomatoe plants are starting to have some flowers(well, for now only one LOL)
Hope you will have some more gorgeous days with good weather so that you can spend some time at the porch!
Have a wonderful week and keep out of little accidents, you hear!
Hugs
