Happy May Day

May 1, 2018

Good morning.  Tis a beautiful day here today.  Temps are going to reach sixty, and the sun is shining.  A great day to play outside with plants.  And, it's a brand new month.  Today is May Day, a happy holiday from my childhood.  Here is the May page from my calendar.

Yesterday, Pogo and I went shopping.  First we stopped by Town Hall to pay the taxes, then we headed on over to Ocean State Job Lot store.  Inside, we were first greeted by one employee who said "Ooh, he's back!  How are you today little fellow?"  Everyone there loves Pogo.

We took our time because there was so much new stuff for gardening to check out.  We filled our carriage right to the top with lots of new goodies.  We got a few plants, (of course) plant saucers and trays, trays for the shelves in the green house, a new froggy wind chime, plant food, some new plant pots and a lot more stuff that we just had to have.

I found a new spray to try that is supposed to kill poison ivy.  We have a lot of poison ivy near one of the little gardens.  Hopefully, this will help to get rid of it.  If it works, I'll pick up the larger container of it to have on hand.

So, guess what Pogo and I will be doing today.  Yup!  We'll be outside playing with dirt and plants and pots.  It will be warm all this week, so I want to get my plants into the greenhouse.  When we're done, I'll take some photos.

Today I have a couple photos of a new visitor to the pond in our park.  Imagine my surprise to find a beautiful heron there.  Wowsie!  I've never seen one around these parts.  Now I'm hoping that the Commorant  (I hope I spelled it right!) returns this year.   I love seeing these birds.

I started a new dolly dress a couple days ago, and it is almost finished.  I'm working on the bottom ruffle now, then I have to make the hat.  When it is all finished, I'll take a photo.  Now I just to think of a new color for the next outfit.

Well, I want to do a bit of blog reading before I head outside.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

You are one busy lady. Seems I do not have much energy some days. You are a go getter.
