The Little Red Hats Are On Their Way

February 1, 2018

Good morning, and "Welcome" to a new month, February.  It's cold, the wind is blowing and the sun isn't out yet but that's okay.  We are one day closer to Spring.   Here's the February page from my calendar.

Well, yesterday I got started on my tax stuff.  I spent a couple hours on it before stopping for the day.  Today I'll get a bit more of it done.  The tedious part is going through all the bills and checks and listing everything, then putting it all into the proper columns.  This is what takes most of my time.  But it is started, and I've got two months of it done.

Yesterday, I promised photos of my new Yorkie calendar.  My Pogo looks so different from most of these adorable little doggies.

The other day while Deanne was here, she took my bag of little red hats home with her.  After calling to find out where to send the hats, she found out that Massachusetts and New Hampshire already had all the hats they needed.  She was given a choice of a few other states where the hats would be sent to, and we chose Virginia.  So the little hats were mailed out, and will soon be on some tiny new babies in Virginia.  Here's a photo from the "Little Hats, Big Hearts" (American Heart Association) program.

This program started in February 2014 in Chicago, Il.  They collected 300 hats the first year, and the program has now expanded to forty states.  So folks, if you love to knit or crochet, and have some time, how about making some little red hats for next year?  You can find all the information you need, along with some sample patterns, in Google.  Just look up "Little Hats, Big Hearts."

Pogo's doctor called yesterday to say that she had approved the refill for his flea medicine, and we made an appointment for him to have his check up and get his health travel letter.  Now we just have to go to Town Hall and get Pogo his new license tag.  DIL Janet came by yesterday after work, and we had a really nice visit, topped off with spinach pizzas for supper.  A super nice way to end a day.

Today I have a new quick page for you.  Sometimes I like to work with fun, whimsical themes.  Have fun with it.

Now I think I'll make a cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
