A Winter Blizzard On The Way Here

January 3, 2018

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the temperature is already up to 11F degrees.  Woo Hoo!  Today's temps will climb up into the upper twenties, and back down to twenty for overnight.  This is going to be our warmest night in quite some time.

Alas, it isn't going to last.  We have a blizzard working its way to us beginning tonight and all day tomorrow.  Temps tomorrow will be warm, but with a foot of snow and high winds, we might lose our power.  God bless us all, please don't let us lose our power.

Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night are going to give us more extreme cold temperatures.  Then, hopefully, things will start to warm up a bit after that.  Gosh, I hope so.  This storm Grayson is a nasty little bugger.  The whole Eastern coast is being bombarded with snow, ice, rain and freezing temps.  Power outages have already started in Florida.  (Lake City, Fla.)

I've been watching the Weather Channel on TV for a few hours now.  So far, this brutal cold has contributed to at least twenty two deaths across the country.  Folks, keep an eye on your neighbors.  Especially the sick and the elderly.  A little bit of help could mean the difference between life and death for some of them.

Yesterday was quiet around here.  I did, however, spend some fun time on my laptop working on new quick pages.  I also bought a few new scrap kits to play with.  So, between making quick pages, getting my tax stuff ready and crocheting, I have plenty to keep me busy indoors during all this wicked winter weather.

Speaking of quick pages, here's my first one for this year.  This might be good for your New Year's Eve party photos.

Do you still make New Year resolutions?  Do you keep them?  If one of them was to try losing weight, and you had a problem with it, think about this.  I found this on the web.

Oh gosh, this one made me giggle.  Imagine, diet water!!  And yet, I'll bet lots of folks probably would buy it.  On the other hand, if you're happy with your weight, this might make you feel much better about it.  I guess I'll be safe for a while.  haha, Maybe I'll bake a cake.  haha.

When I finish this post, I have to call my eye doctor.  I have an appointment for tomorrow, but I'll be needing to cancel and re-schedule (again).  I don't want to be out on the road during the storm.  we're supposed to be getting a heating fuel delivery tomorrow.  I'm hoping they come early in the day before the snow gets too deep.

Before I go, I'm wondering what's happening in the blog world.  Many folks just aren't blogging very often, or at all, anymore.  I'm wondering why that is, and hoping it is not due to sickness.  I really miss the chit chat with them.

I also want to mention that daughter Deanne sprained her ankle (while dancing on New Year's Eve) and needs to be taking it easy for a while so that it can heal.  Here's hoping for a speedy recovery Deanne.  Call me if I can be of help.  (I'm not totally old yet!)

Now I think I'll make myself a hot cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna, I chuckled when I saw the first line of your blog. Isn't it funny, we fall into the deep freeze and we are grateful for any temps over 20 degrees!? I am sorry you are in for a big blizzard. I will be praying that your power stays on. I know what you mean about blogging. A wonderful blogger I know is giving up her blog due to phamily health issues with her mom. I am really sad, she is one of the people you can count on when you get down in the dumps or just need a cheerful face to tell you it will all be alright. Debbie is just a light in darkness for many that visit her but when phamily calls you have to answer. It is rotten getting old but I pray a lot and make the best of it. yesterday was the first time I have seen my Harrison since CHRISTmas. He had been under the weather too, poor lil darling. He had on a cute outfit, with a Minion on it so I said who bought this for you? We went through all the papa's and grammie's and he said Grammie Lisa! So I said do you love her? YES he said so boldly. So we went over the list and he loves all of us. When I said my name last of all, and asked if he loved me, he said YES and then he kissed m cheek. Oh those are the days I live for. Kindness for a small boy with a big heart. He is something.
I hope you and Pogo stay warm and safe and have power to prevail during the storm. I will be thinking of you, my friend. Love and Hugs

Edna,
Oh gosh this Grayson is a nasty little guy. I read in my news feed that it snowed in Florida. The guy even had a picture of it. He said he had never seen snow in Florida in the 21 years he had lived there. Power outages are already happening and my friend in South Carolina said they were going to get snow too. They are from West Virginia and she said that was the reason they bought the condo was to get away from the snow lol. They live 6 months in West Virginia and 6 months in South Carolina.
I really hope that they get your fuel to you. And please stay warm. I am so glad that Pogo has his jammies and blankets. I don't want his little tootsie's to get cold.

We are 47 here so not bad at all. Especially with no wind. Please don't think that I am bragging because I am not lol. Just keeping you informed!

Cisco wants to go out so I am going to go and do that but first I want to say how sorry I am for Deanne's sprained ankle. I hope that it is better today. I know what it feels like to hobble. My knee and leg still hurts just from twisting a bit wrong.

Hugs to you and Pogo... Cisco sends slobbers... xxx Beth
