Heat, Oh Blessed Heat!

December 14, 2017

Good morning.  Well, the sun hasn't decided yet whether to shine on us or not.  Maybe it's like me and doesn't really like the cold temperatures.  It is bright outside, so maybe the sun will shine in a while.

When I woke up this morning at 5 o'clock, I thought I might go shopping very early this morning, but then I just turned over and went back to sleep.  Now that I'm awake, I think I might just stay indoors today.

Today, I'm relishing the warmth here inside the house.  Yesterday, I did not.  At some point during the night before, the furnace shut off and the house got cold.  Once I realized what was happening, I had to re-schedule Pogo's appointment and get the furnace working again.

The service man came out and looked over the problem to see what was wrong.  A nozzle that regulates the fuel was blocked and needed to be replaced.  After a while, the heat slowly started making its way throughout the house.  Once it reaches everywhere in the main part of the house, it finally starts making its way to my part of the house.

Daughter Deanne came over yesterday afternoon and cleaned out my little electric fireplace and got it started so that Pogo and I had some heat till the furnace heat got to us.  Thank you so much Deanne.  The heat felt oh so good!  Let's hope that this is the end of the furnace problems for the rest of the cold season.

Today, I dug out a couple photos from my archives to share.  One day at work about five years ago, it was raining.  One of the water spouts was making a big puddle in the yard, and one of the little dark eyed juncos was taking advantage of this wondrous bathing pool.

I love watching the birds.  They are so tiny, but have such huge strength and creativity.  Besides being amused by them, we can learn so much from watching them.

Yesterday, I just let the dishes pile up in the sink.  I was too cold to deal with them.  When I finish this post, the first thing I'll do is wash all of them.  After that, I have some blog reading to catch up on.

Well, that's my news for today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Has been a bit cold here the last days too. Not really cold, just around 2 C. Already too low for me LOL.
Next few days temps will creep up to 8C.
Hopefully your heating will keep on working now, so that you can have it warm.
Did you already put up your little Christmastree?
Couldn;t find it in your posts.
I read all your posts so I am up to date with you, hahahaha.
Really hope your breathing is doing oaky for now again and that you don;t need to take the oxygen.
Stay warm, stay safe and sound, dear friend, till next time.
Hugs
