It's Time To Start Closing Up The Porch

November 6, 2017

Good morning.  It's early, so it is still rather gray outside.  Today is supposed to be our last warm day for a while, and we're expecting rain.  Temperatures are really cooling down now.  We've been lucky though, that the warmer temps lasted this long.

Well, yesterday was an odd day of sorts.  I washed the breakfast dishes, then took some photos to share here.  When I took my new solar thingies out to the porch to photograph them, I noticed that the railings are covered with a fine layer of dust (actually fine dirt) and need to be vacuumed again before the porch is closed up for the winter season.

I'll also have to vacuum the area rug before rolling it up and covering it with plastic.  Oh wow, so much to do out there just to close it up for the winter.  All my colored pencils and pens were still out there along with my chia plant stuff.  Time to bring it all in the house and put it away.

Joe came home early from his trip to Foxwoods, so he started clearing up a lot of the fallen leaves that were decorating the whole parking area.  Meanwhile, all of this had me side tracked from what I had originally planned on doing.  Why does this surprise me???

Today I'll share the photos that I took of some of my gifts.  The flowers are just gorgeous in shades of yellow, orange and bronze, and my little Thanksgiving solar dancers look super on my porch railing.   These little solar dancers aren't easy to find anymore, but Deanne somehow manages to find all the new ones.  Pogo and I polished off half of the lemon merengue pie yesterday for lunch.  It was delicious, even though Pogo only took one little lick.  I had an envelope full of scratch tickets, and there were a few winners.

Next is the bracelet that granddaughter Andi made for me.  I wore it out Saturday night, and everyone loved it.  The fun fur scarf that Audrey made is beautiful and is going to feel really nice around my neck once it gets a bit colder.  And those relishes and the cranberry apple butter, well what can I say?  Yum! Yum! Yum!  As a matter of fact, I had fresh Italian bread slathered with the cranberry apple butter for breakfast this morning.  Mmmmmm!

Last night, even though I had planned on addressing some envelopes, Pogo and I were tired and decided to go to bed early.  And that's what we did.  I woke up around 11:30 p.m. and crocheted and watched TV for a few hours before going back to sleep.  I have to say that my new pillow seems to be working really well.  I'm sleeping better, at least it seems that way.

Today, I'll just go with the flow.  Whatever I do, I'll do.  I guess it's best not to make plans when doing household chores because if you're like me, you get side tracked quite often.  I am going to address some envelopes though.  I'd like to have them finished up by next week.

Yesterday, I forgot to post a new quick page so today I'll give you the last Halloween quick page.  It's a fun page for some of your trick or treat photos.

Now I think I'll make a fresh cup of coffee before taking a look outside to see what today looks like.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm just starting to enjoy my porch now and dreaming about changes to my tiny little backyard (only five feet deep) and planning how to transform it into a cat safe area for the winter.
