Goodness, I Learn Something New Every Day

October 2, 2017

Good morning.  Tis a bit chilly today too.  Only 58F degrees.  Later temps will get up to the mid sixties.  Night time temps have been in the forties.  Autumn is really settling in here in New England.  But the sun is shining and there's a little breeze, so that makes it a gorgeous Autumn day.

Well, yesterday was a very lazy day for me.  I did manage to fit in a little nap, but that only made it harder to fall asleep last night.  I finally dozed off this morning around seven, so that explains why I'm a tad bit late with everything today.

Yesterday, I did take a photo of the beautiful orange roses that Deanne brought me.  Oh my, they are ever so beautiful.  Have a lookee.

While I was washing dishes the other day, I noticed that I only have three Florida mugs.  Hmmm, I used to have more, but I don't know where all the others have gone.  When I go to Florida this winter, I'll have to pick up one more mug so that I'll have a set of four.  After all, this is my good china these days.  haha.   This photo shows both sides of the mug.

Last night, I was playing around with my cell phone and I learned that the camera on it is just as smart as the rest of the phone.  I learned that if I point the phone at someone or something and say "smile" the camera will automatically take a photo.  Also, if I want to take a video, all I have to say is "record a video" and the camera does just that.

For a while, I had a lot of fun giving the camera orders and then checking to see what it did.  Woo Hoo!  This is actually fun.  I even got a photo of Pogo, (and a video) and he didn't even know I was taking his photo.   He was just resting on his little chair, watching me to see what I was doing.

Last evening, I crocheted on the new afghan.  It's coming right along now.  When it gets a bit bigger, I'll take a photo of it.  I've also noticed that my fingers don't hurt so much anymore now that I'm crocheting every day.  This is good.   The shoulder still hurts, but I can cope with that.

I just called the heating oil company to make an appointment to have the burner cleaned.  Unless something changes, they will be here Thursday morning to take care of the burner.  I called the jeweler, and Pogo and I will go see him on Wednesday to pick up my rings.    Sometime this week, I need to do a bit of grocery shopping and maybe one or two loads of laundry.  That should about do it for this week.

Yesterday, I spent some time on the computer working on the gemstone quick pages.  I finished one and started another.  I've decided that I may as well try to make a page for as many gemstones as I can.

Deanne has just pulled up in my driveway, so it's time for me to take my leave.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.
