Congratulations Eddie!

June 28, 2017

Good morning.  And what a beautiful morning it is!  The sun is shining, there's a tiny breeze and temps will be very comfortable today.  Woo Hoo!

Last evening was a big night for SIL Eddie.  He received his twenty year pin from Local 103 IBEW.  Congratulations Eddie!!  We're all very proud of you.

Well, there aren't many days left of this month of June, so enjoy them while they are here.  By Saturday, we'll be starting the second half of this year.  In a few days, a lot of folks will be celebrating with private fireworks displays.  Please keep in mind that fireworks are illegal in this state.  Make sure you have the proper licenses for your displays.  And keep them away from all pets, please.

Gosh, last night we had a bit of really loud thunder, but no rain.  The weatherman says we might get some rain later today or tonight.  Pogo wasn't very happy about the thunder, but he soon settled down and went back to sleep.

Yesterday I managed to do a couple loads of laundry before it was time for a nap.  Honestly, I don't know why, but all of a sudden I was just so tired.  After trying unsuccessfully to hold my head up, I gave in and crawled under my blanket and had a nice long nap.  I did wait, though, until after Pogo had his turkey treat.

This morning, I thought I was going to be able to watch a bit of Law & Order on TV.  Sad to say, the TV station thought it would be more important to televise the court hearing of the sentencing of Baby Doe's murderer.  That includes first listening to any and all people who want to take the stand first and tell the court how they feel about this whole thing.

Sad to say, I don't think this is important enough to interrupt a program that I am wanting to watch.  I could have waited until a regular news program came on or read about it in the newspaper.  This whole trial thing has been taking years.  Personally, I think the whole trial system is overrated.  Trials should not take as long as they do.  This is one of the reasons our whole justice system is so backlogged.

That's a whole new rant for me and I'm not going there.  Today is too nice a day.  Instead I think I'll just wash the breakfast dishes and then Pogo and I will go outside for a while.  On that happy note, I'll take my leave.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hi Edna,

Congratulations to Eddie... I am so happy for him. That is a big accomplishment for him and you can see by the smile on his face he was very happy!

It is soon to be July 4th and I hope that everyone will adhere to the rules. We have 24/7 security here so if anyone does fireworks here they will be fined. There are way too many places here that offer free displays. I don't mind the sparklers for the kids if they do it safely but all the loud stuff scares our pets and for some people it hurts their ears or upsets them. I am glad that this place here is a lot different than where we lived before.

I think that I am going to lay back down. I caught the stomach bug and have spent time at the doctors and in bed. My fever broke around 4 this morning so I have been up a couple of hours and now my energy is leaving me. Hugs for you and Pogo... Love Beth and Cisco.

Congratulations to Eddie, of course. But could you tell me what is IBEW?
Oh how nice you could have a decent nap! I have a bit trouble lately to sleep well. I do sleep, but wake up several times, and when waking up in the mornbing i don;t have the feeling I rested well.
It will go by tyoo again, and better nights of sleep will come, surely!
And it is a pity that we are going into the second half of the year already.
And now I go to your next post.
